A WEEK AFTER JESSICA'S BIRTHDAY:

"I can't fucking believe you!" Jessica yelled, banging the door behind when both women entered Susan's apartment.

"Good, because I can't fucking believe you either!"

"What the hell is wrong with you?! For Fuck's sake!"

"What is wrong with me?! Seriously?!"

"Ugh! I hate you so much when you're acting like that, I swear to God I wanna punch you!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt you?"

"God, damn you, Susan, you don't know me at all!"

"Of course I don't! That's the point!"

"Jesus!" Jessica howled and reached for her bag, taking out her cigarettes, "I was such a fool to think that it was a good idea!" she said while lighting up her cigarette

"Oh, no... You wanna know who's the real fool in here, is me! I'm a fool for thinking that I could ever trust you when obviously I can't!"

"Trust is something that is lacking in this relationship, Susan!"

"Hey! You wanna say something, just say it!"

"How do you think I feel when you're going out with that guy Jesse?!"

"Jesus! Just because we went out a couple of times doesn't mean we're fucking!"

"I don't know that! and point is that you never talk to me about what you two are doing when you're out!"

"DON'T turn this on me!"

"What? Am I wrong?!" Jessica stopped for a moment and then: "You made a scene in front of Sarah and then you fucking left, leaving me behind?! You think that's right?! You think I deserve something like that"

"Well, what about me, Jess?! Do I deserve to be treated like that?! Why don't you just say it?!"

"Say what, Susan, what do you want me to say?!"

"That you still have feelings for her, that you can't stand the fact that she's with someone else!"

"You're such an asshole!"

"Believe me I can be the asshole, you know, I could easily just find some 20-year-old kid to fuck!"

"Then why don't you Susan, why don't you!"

"I will! Cause we are over"

Jessica took a minute just staring at her lover, bitting her bottom lip, she shook her head and, "Good... We are done"

"You are now free to run after her I don't give a damn"

"You fucking bitch!"

"Fuck you!" Susan replied and walked into her bedroom, banging loudly the door, Jessica sighed, she looked at the closed door when all of a sudden she took from the table in front of her Susan's glass, gathering all the strength needed she threw it with force on the closed door, causing the glass to shatter into million pieces while she let out a loud scream.

FLASHBACK: A FEW HOURS BEFORE:

Susan was reading her script while walking up and down on Jessica's apartment, she stopped in front of Jessica's bedroom. The door was half closed but yet she could see her lover sitting in front of the large mirror, getting ready. Susan smiled and slowly took off her glasses.

"Honey, would you come here for a sec?" Jessica said, knowing very well that Susan was standing outside her door and with that Susan stepped inside, leaving the script on the bed, she approached her lover.

"Zip me up..." Jessica commanded, turning her back on Susan who did as ordered, zipping the black dress that Jessica was wearing and wrapping her hands eventually around Jessica's waist.

"You look incredible" Susan whispered into Jessica's ear, placing her head on her lover's shoulder

"Thank you..." Jessica replied and rested her head backward

"You're ready to go?"

"I think so..."

"You know, if you don't want to just say it"

"It seems to me that you don't wanna go"

"You caught me..." Susan chuckled and placed a kiss on Jessica's neck, making her let out a soft moan, "It's not that I don't want to, I just think we've got better things to do if we just stay here..." she added, spinning her around to face her, "What do you think?"

"I think that we should get going..."

"Yeah, you're right..." Susan finally replied and stepped back walking up to the bed to pick up her script

"You know, I was calling you yesterday," Jessica said while wearing her blazer

"Oh, yeah, I saw the calls but it was too late to call you back"

"Too late? But you were done working at six"

"I stayed a little longer"

"At the theater?"

"Yeah..."

"Till midnight?"

"Yeah... we were talking..."

"Talking?"

"Yes"

"But the thing is that I called Jack because you know, I was getting worried and he told me that you were out with Jesse, he said he had just talked to you"

"Yeah, we went out but only for a drink, nothing special"

"Alright... let's go," Jessica said and left the room, leaving Susan behind.---

"Yeah, it's true... I even got Jessica's autograph in my house" Sarah laughed making Jessica chuckle

"Well, who would have thought that you two would end up being best friends," Susan said while sipping her wine

"So, Susan how's work going, are you doing anything new?"

"Oh, yeah, on Broadway"

"Broadway? Really? That's awesome"

"Yeah, I'm a little nervous but I think everything's going to be alright"

"I'm sure you're gonna do great! You could ask this lady over here for some tips..." Sarah joked, hitting Jessica's shoulder playfully

"I could... I really could"

"Alright, excuse me for a minute" Sarah excused herself and stood up, walking straight into the toilet

"What the hell is going on?"

"What is that mean?" Jessica asked whispering

"Where is Holland? I thought you said she was coming too"

"How should I know? Jesus..."

"Don't Jesus me... I know what is going on"

"And what exactly is going on?"

"She didn't want to meet me, she only wanted to see you, alone"

"Now, you're paranoid"

"Like I didn't see the way you're looking at her"

"Stop it!" Jessica said and hit her open palm on the table, everyone turned to look at them, "I won't take this shit any longer, stop it!" she whispered while pointing her finger at her lover

"Fine!" Susan replied and sat back on her chair

Jessica sighed and reached for her glass, she took a large sip from her drink and they both waited for Sarah to return, sitting in complete silence

"So, where were we?" Sarah said, returning back to her seat

"Well, that's all I'm doing right now," Susan said, avoiding to look at her lover, something that caught Sarah's attention

"She's incredible, Sarah..." Jessica said, placing her hand on Susan's shoulder but Susan tried to avoid it, making Jessica angrier.

"Oh, like you came to see the rehearsals" Susan whispered but both women heard her

"Well you know how Jess is... don't get her wrong," Sarah said trying to justify her friend

"We're together, so yeah, I do know how she is..." Susan replied with an angry look on her face

"Of course you do..." Sarah replied and looked at Jessica, finally, she smiled, "What about you, Jess? What are you doing? How're the kids?"

"Oh, they're fine and I'm not doing anything at the moment, just resting before I get the script for the new movie I'm gonna be in"

"Yeah, I remember you telling me about" she reached for Jessica's hand, making her smile, "Well, I can't wait..."

With that, Susan cleared her throat, "You know, Sarah... It was so nice seeing you but I think I should take off, I'm not feeling very good"

"What's wrong?" Sarah asked worriedly

"I'm feeling... sick" Susan said and looked at Jessica who turned to her and whispered, "What is that? What are you doing?"

"I'm feeling sick. You're making me sick!" Susan whispered back

"Well, you think what happened yesterday didn't make ME sick?!"

"And what are you gonna do about it?"

"Surely not gonna make a scene right here"

"Guess, we're not the same"

"Guys, what's going on?" Sarah said, leaning closer to them

"Well, your friend over here is trying to make a point by being all over you the whole night and I won't stand to continue looking"

Jessica closed her eyes in an attempt of calming herself down, "Susan, please, don't"

"I'm sorry, Sarah... maybe we could do this some other time, okay?"

"Of course, yeah..." Sarah replied all this time her eyes were glued on Jessica

Susan stood up and looked at her lover, "We'll be in touch"

"We'll be in touch?! What the fuck is that mean?!" Jessica said back but Susan had already left the restaurant. "Fuck!"

"Jess, go after her"

Jessica took a moment and immediately left to find her lover.

BACK TO REALITY:

Jessica walked slowly to Susan's closed door, hearing her sobbing, she stood there for a couple of minutes until she finally decided to open the door.

"Susan?"

"Fuck, go away"

"Look, I'm sorry for what happened but you lied to me..."

"At least you didn't see me flirting with him"

"I didn't flirt with Sarah"

Susan chuckled, "Jess, cut the bullshit now, would you?"

"Fine... I was but only because you made me do it"

"And what do you want now?"

"I want things to get back how they were"

"Jesus, just leave..."

"Sue... this... this is ridiculous"

"Well, I'm ridiculous, happy now?"

"You know what?! If you haven't lied to me, none of this would have happened and you know it! This is all on you, it's your fault and stop blaming me for the fucked up things you do!"

"Go ahead, let it all out"

"No, I'm serious! You don't want a lover you just want someone to always tell you how right you are! Well, guess what? You are not right, especially in this situation! And you wanna know something else? Maybe you're all suspicious cause you're hiding something, have you ever thought of that? "

"And what am I hiding?"

"I don't know but why did you lie to me? Why didn't you just say that you were out? And more importantly, why didn't you answer my calls?!"

"Well done, Sherlock! You caught me redhanded! I'm a cheater"

"Maybe you are!"

"Is that what you think of me? You think I would ever cheat on you?!"

"Not until this morning"

"Jesus... just leave, I don't wanna talk anymore"

"But I do, we can't just break up!"

"Just call it irreconcilable differences and bail"

"I can't believe I'm actually trying to change your mind! You're such a stubborn person!"

"Now's the part that you're gonna tell me that you were the only one in this relationship who was truly trying?!"

"Why? You think I'm wrong?!"

"I put up with your shit for not one, not two but almost four years! I was there for you when you needed someone and I never asked anything for return!"

"Put up with MY shit?"

"Yes, Jess! Do you think you're an easy going person?! You wouldn't want us to move in together, you never wanted to go out with me in a public place except if it was to some stupid show! We were hiding like we were criminals for fuck's sake!"

"I see..."

"No, you don't, that's the thing and you never will!"

"Then why did you stayed with me? You knew from the beginning how I was"

"Because I thought I could help you because I love you and I thought you'd change"

"You expected from me to change and you could just stay the same?! How is that making any sense to you?! Like you're perfect!"

"Then if I'm not just go"

"You know what? I will, I will go, and this time there's no turning back"

"Are you threatening me? So I'll run after you like I always do!?"

"Fuck..." Jessica sighed and lowered her sight

"I guess we are done..."

"I know I am..." Jessica finally replied, she walked to the closet and took out a few clothes she had inside.

"What are you doing?" Susan asked, looking at her now ex-lover walking around the room, picking up her stuff

"I'm taking what's mine..."

"You're leaving me?"

"Isn't that what you want?" Jessica asked standing now in front of the door

"I want you to apologize"

"That's not gonna happen... Not this time..."

"Okay..." Susan replied and looked out of the window. She heard Jessica closing the door and then exiting the apartment.--
