It was still dark outside and inside Jessica's apartment. Her bedroom was now filled with heavy pantings and the city lights. Last time Susan checked the clock it was already 3:00 but neither one of them wanted for that night to go wasted. That night... it was like they were together for the very first time. Exploring each other's bodies with desire and lust.

Both let their bodies do the talking, afraid to speak mainly cause they didn't want to ruin these hours of them being together after so long. It almost felt like an eternity. Susan kissed her way up to Jessica's face, where she started gracing her neck with wet kisses, she paused and stared at her, she smiled.

Jessica smiled back, she moistured her lips and bit them, Susan chuckled and placed her head on her lover's chest, listening to her heart racing, her fingers found Jessica's hand and held her tight as Jessica wrapped her legs around Susan's waist.

They sat there in complete silence for a few minutes. "I missed you" Jessica whispered and rested her free hand on Susan's back, drawing circles with her fingertips.

"It's like a dream... I never thought we would be like this again" Susan said and glanced up, looking at Jessica who smiled

"You're so beautiful"

With that Susan rose up from Jessica's chest and moved next to her, snuggling her, she kissed her forehead, "I'm tired"

Jessica closed her eyes and sighed, after a month she was finally feeling secured, "I know" she replied and buried her face on Susan's neck, kissing her.

"And I..." Susan started but immediately Jessica cut her short, "Don't... we'll talk tomorrow"

Susan chuckled, "Okay..."

Jessica rose up, her lips met her lover's for one last time until she broke the kiss, "Goodnight" she said. Susan nodded and closed her eyes. Both fell asleep pretty soon whilst on each other's arms.

Susan was the first one to wake up, as usual. She stretched out and yawned, a slight smile appeared on her face when she saw her lover sleeping peacefully by her side. Images from the previous night started playing in her head and Jessica's naked body under the bedsheets made those images running wild than before.

Knowing that Jessica wouldn't be mad if she woke her up she moved closer to her and started placing kisses on her jawline, making the younger woman furrowed her brows together. Susan continued placing kisses down on her neck and watched her lover opening slowly her eyes, "Good morning, sunshine" she said and stopped before reaching for the bedsheets and throwing them on the floor.

Jessica laughed, "Sunshine?" she asked and looked at the clock.

Susan returned back to her actions, marking Jessica's naked body with wet kisses, making her laugh. "What's gotten into you?"

"I missed you, that's all" she replied and stood in front of Jessica's core, stroking her thighs, "Sue, I just woke up, give me a break"

Jessica fell on the couch, with a cigarette attached on her lips and a mug filled with coffee in her hands, she could hear her lover showering inside and while she was waiting for her to show up, suddenly someone started knocking on her door softly. Jessica froze, she stared at the bedroom's door and then rushed to close it. Making sure that Susan wouldn't go out, she rushed to answer the door, finding Sarah standing outside.

"Good morning" Sarah shouted and walked inside, "I was waiting for you to call me but it takes you forever! I wanna know what happened!" she continued as she took a seat on the couch.

"Now, it's not the time, Sarah..." Jessica replied and closed the door, "I still got company"

"Oh, shit!" Sarah said and stood up, "Still? So, I assume you had fun..."

"I did, now, leave and I'll call you, okay?"

"Or I could just stay and meet him" Sarah chuckled and walked to her friend's side when all of a sudden Susan opened the bedroom's door, wrapped around with Jessica's towels, while talking, "Jess, have you seen my... oh" she stopped when she saw Sarah standing by the door.

Jessica's eyes widened, along with Sarah's, "Well..." Susan whispered again and let her head fall on the front, her wet, soft locks, covered almost her whole face.

"What is that mean?" Sarah asked and looked at her friend, "Are you back together?!" she shouted with an enthusiastic look on her face

"No, it doesn't mean anything! Calm down. Sue, what do you want?" Jessica asked her lover who was still standing almost naked next to the door.

"I don't got any underwear..." Susan whispered making Jessica chuckle, "Take mine, go get dressed..." she ordered and with that Susan nodded and disappeared into the bedroom, closing the door behind.

"Wow..." Sarah mouthed to her friend and laughed

"Shit!" she asked, returning back to her seat

"You're lucky, lady Lange," Sarah said and sat on the armchair across her

"Now, what are you talking about?" Jessica asked and reached for her cigarette, taking a drag

"She's so damn hot, that's what I'm talking about"

"Well... what can I say?" Jessica replied and shrugged

"I wanna know what happened!"

"Alright, look, we're not back together"

"It looks like you are"

"We... um" Jessica started and sighed, "I don't know..." she whispered, "I still love her, you know that"

"I know... well, did you two talk at all? I mean obviously you worked things out, right?"

Jessica took a minute before answering, "We did talk, we decided to keep this to ourselves, and..."

"And it has to stay that way" Susan cut her short, walking out of the bedroom, she took a seat next to Jessica and placed her arm around her shoulder, making herself more comfortable on the couch.

"I'm gonna cry..." Sarah said and smiled

"The point is that Susan is still with Tom"

"I'm gonna talk to him tonight but no one else has to know about this till we're ready"

"Why?"

"Well, what would others say? Susan moving from one partner to another so fast? No, it's not right"

"I understand"

"Thank you..." Jessica said and then looked at Susan, "And thanks for last night, you know, keeping Tom busy... we owe you" Susan said to Sarah

"So, last night it was her? I mean the company you had"

"Of course..."

"Now what happens, how are you gonna end things with Tom?"

"Honestly? I have no idea..."

"But you've got to, Susan" Jessica said and looked at her, "You've got to" she added again

"I know..."

"He really likes you"

"Jesus, Sarah..."

"What? Last night the only thing he was talking about was her!"

"I know he likes me, I like him too..."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" she shouted angrily

"Jesus, calm down! I mean he's a nice guy and I enjoyed his company"

"Oh, that's better" Jessica shouted in a sarcastic way and stood up.

"Jessica come on..." Sarah begged and then looked at Susan, she chuckled, "She's jealous"

"Well, of course, I'm jealous... I'm jealous and I'm scared because something inside of me thinks that you're not gonna talk to him and we're just gonna continue like this" she shouted, looking at her lover.

"I said I'm gonna talk to him tonight, you've got to trust me!"

"Well, I trusted you before and look where it got us!"

"Jessica, stop it"

"At least you didn't catch me making out with my friend!"

"Hey!" Sarah gasped, "It was a friendly kiss"

"Oh, right, I caught you having sex, that's the difference!"

"I thought you said you two worked things out, for God's sake!" Sarah shouted and looked at them both

"Shut up, Sarah"

"No! Talk Sarah! What is a friendly kiss even mean?"

"Well, I don't know exactly..." Sarah started but Jessica cut her short, "It means exactly the same as a friendly fuck! I'm sure you know"

"Alright, enough!"

"Oh, do I? I must've learned that from you two!"

"You're such a bitch"

"I said enough!" Sarah shouted and stood up, both Jessica and Susan lowered their sighs, trying to calm down. "What's wrong with you, Jesus!"

"She started it" Susan whispered and pointed at Jessica

"Seriously?" Jessica asked, ready to pick up a fight

"Stop it, Jessica!" Sarah shouted, putting an end on their fight. "Obviously you haven't talked shit, so what the fuck are you doing? If it bothers you so much, " she said referring to Jessica, "why did you choose to get back with her?"

"Because I love her" Jessica whispered

"And what about you? If what happened between me and her offended you so big, what are you doing here?"

"Because I love her too," Susan said and looked at Jessica who smiled

"Then forget about what happened and move on, Jesus! You're both adults, stop acting like teenagers, I know both got hurt, I know you lost trust but I also know that you two can't live without each other. Tonight, you're gonna talk to Tom, tell him you need time for yourself and that is all... And you" she said and turned to look at Jessica, "You're doing this again? When you broke up with Sam you've been naming one by one all the things he did to you and look where it got you? What happened, happened, just deal with it and learn how to move on! If you don't wanna be with her then leave, but if you love her then stop complaining! It's your choice and Susan doesn't have to put up with your madness!"

"I'm sorry..." Jessica whispered and looked at Susan.

Susan smiled and stood up, opening wide her arms, "I'm sorry too..." she said and with that Jessica walked to her side and fell into her arms, hugging her tightly. "I love you, you know that," she said and kissed Jessica's head, sniffing her perfume, "I love you too but I'm jealous"

Sarah returned back to her seat, looking at them, she smiled.

"I only have eyes for you..."

"That's good... let it all out, girls" Sarah joked and with that both turned to look at her, they laughed, Susan capped Jessica's face and gave a peck on her soft lips, making her smile, "Please, I need you to end all this tonight"

"I will..."

"Should I leave you two alone?"

"No, no... stay" Susan said and took a step back, she fell on the couch, along with Jessica, "Well, what else do I have to do to have some God, damn coffee?" she said making Jessica stand up, laughing, "I'll be back" she said and walked into the kitchen, leaving the two women alone...

"Thanks..." Susan whispered, looking at the younger woman, she reached for Jessica's cigarettes and lit up one.

"She probably told you what happened, I mean, with us... and I just want to..."

"You don't have to..." Susan cut her short, "I know what happened, I know the whole story between you two and I can see that you still have feelings for her"

"It's not that..."

"Sarah, I know..." Susan cut her short again, "I'm just glad you're in her life, one way or another, it made me feel a little better knowing that you were taking care of her... At least I knew that she had someone in her life who treated her the way I treat her, with respect and love"

"Aren't you mad?"

"At you?" she chuckled

"Yeah..."

"No..." she replied and took a drag, blowing the smoke to the side, she continued, "I mean, not anymore... I didn't like you, I'm not gonna lie but now I can see that we both want the same thing, for Jessica to be happy and yesterday you helped a lot... so thank you"

"Well, since we're speaking our hearts out, you must know that I love her and I'm happy that she's in my life even if it means just staying two good friends, I'm grateful for that and I couldn't imagine someone else next to her except you... You two are the perfect match"

"Perfect match... I don't know" she laughed, "But she sure brings the best out of me... even after so long"

"And you must have your ways around her..."

"Oh, I'm still learning... she's not an open book"

"I'm aware..."

"What are you talking about?" Jessica asked returning back, she placed the mug on the table and sat back on the couch

"Nothing special..." Sarah replied and smiled at Susan while reaching for the mug

"So, I'm gonna make lunch, Sarah are you staying?"

"Oh, I don't know..."

"Please, stay with us" Susan begged the younger woman, smiling. Sarah looked at her and chuckled, "Well, I would love to..."

"So, how was your day?" Tom asked, sipping some red wine. Only two couples were inside the restaurant, who were constantly looking over their table, making Susan feel uncomfortable.

"I didn't do much..." Susan replied while looking around

"It's beautiful here, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's lovely..." she said and finally looked at him, a slight smile covered her face as she reached for her glass

"And you look wonderful"

"Thanks..."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Um... sure," she said, clearing her throat

"What's going on?"

Susan chuckled, "What do you mean?"

"I mean that something is bothering you, did I do something wrong?"

"Oh, no... everything's fine"

"Are you telling the truth?"

With that Susan just looked at him and then silence, she sighed, "Well... no"

"What did I do?"

"It's not you, Tom..."

"Then what is it? I wanna be there for you but you keep cutting me out of your life!" he shouted making Susan open wide her eyes, she looked around, "Please, keep it down"

"I'm sorry..." he whispered and relaxed, he reached for Susan's hand which was resting on the table but Susan avoided his touch, "I see..." he replied to her action. Susan looked at the waitress who brought their plates and thanked her.

"Let's eat" she commanded

"I don't want to eat, I want you to talk to me"

"What do you want me to say for Christ's sake?!" she whispered angrily

"Are you trying to break up with me?"

"Look..." Susan said and lowered her sight, "It's not you, I just need time, I just got out of a long-termed relationship and I'm just not ready to be with someone else so fast. I know you mean well, and I can see how hard you're trying but we can't continue."

"So this is it? When I asked you if you were with me just to get over your ex, why did you refused it?"

"Because that wasn't the reason why I was with you"

"Clearly you don't have feelings for me"

"I don't..." she admitted

"God..." he sighed and looked around, "I'm such a fool for thinking you actually liked me"

"No, I like you but as a friend"

"And when we slept together? What was that? "

Susan didn't answer, avoiding to look at him, he continued, "Jesus... you're such a hypocrite!"

"Calm down"

"You know, next time, be honest, if you wanted to forget your ex, say it! I'm not your fucking toy, Susan! You know very well how I feel and yet you fooled me"

"I didn't fool you... I just need time for myself, I can't give you what you're looking for, I can't!"

"Yeah, I know that now..."

"I'm sorry..." she whispered and then silence. They sat in awkward silence for several minutes until, "I think, I should leave..." she said and reached for her phone, placing it into her pocket.

"Are you back with your ex?"

"What?"

"I said, are you back with your ex?"

Susan chuckled, thinking if she should be honest, but, "No..."

"You think I'm stupid, Susan... Just because I'm younger, doesn't mean I can't see..."

"I really should leave now..."

"Yeah... you should"

Susan stood up, dragging the chair to the side, she smiled at him and exited the restaurant, heading to her apartment. Once she reached her destination, she closed the door behind and sighed, leaning her head on the door.

"You need a cigarette?"

Susan jumped when she heard Jessica's voice, immediately she turned around and saw her lover, holding a glass filled with Vodka, "You scared me" Susan whispered and walked to her lover's side with a smile tattooed on her face, feeling more relaxed just by watching her.

"I'm sorry..." Jessica replied and placed a kiss on Susan's soft lips. "How did it go?" she asked, resting her head on Susan's forehead

"Not so good"

"Did you talk to him?"

"I did"

"Good, that's good" Jessica replied and reached for her bag on the couch, she took out her pack of cigarettes and handed it to Susan, who took them gladly, "Thanks..."

"You want something to drink?"

"I'd love to..."

"I'll find you outside"

Susan smiled and with that, she walked out on the balcony. Jessica joined her once she fixed Susan's drink and stood next to her, "How are you?"

"Am I the bad guy here?"

"No..."

"Then why do I feel like I am?"

"You're not, Sue..."

Susan reached for her glass and took a sip, she continued looking at the view, "I don't want to lose you again"

"You won't... Come on, everything's fine now" Jessica smiled and wrapped her arms around Susan's waist, "I love you"

"You wanna talk about what happened?"

"Not really..."

"You wanna talk in general?" Jessica asked, making Susan laugh, "Not really..."

"I love you too..." she whispered and buried her face on Susan's neck. Susan closed her eyes and leaned her head on Jessica's shoulder, "I know..."

"You don't know how much tho"

Susan didn't reply, she smiled and felt her lover's kisses on her neck, she reached for her hands and started stroking her softly, "As much as I love you..." she replied.
