Naruto's house and Kakashi
(A/N) All Naruto'd out yet? No? Good. Continuing. Should go into the Forest of Death today. Or Naruto and Secilia will argue the entire time, and not let us see the next bit of the Chunin Exams. I am hoping to go somewhat in depth into the mourning process for Secilia, even if she's not great at showing feelings. Not as bad as Sasuke, but not great. As of right now, she's shoving all feelings aside in favor of completing the Chunin exams. Probably not healthy, but she has better things to worry about.
"I got it, I don't want you burning the water," Naruto smirked at her, and she scowled at him.
"I am not that bad!" Secilia protested. "Besides, it's impossible to burn water. If you try, it just boils and turns to steam."
Naruto sulked for half a minute. "Smartypants."
"Well, that does tend to happen when you actually study," Secilia remarked dryly.
A miniature depression cloud hung over his head as he sulked.
"Naruto, are you going to stop sulking and make dinner, or are you going to let me try?"
"I'm going, you try, and we'll end up at Ichiraku's," Naruto sniped back, going from depression cloud to grinning widely.
"Sometimes I worry you're bipolar. Then I remember you have issues. Big issues," Secilia said, smirking.
"I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that," Naruto remarked, moving around the kitchenette.
"Aww, c'mon. Anyway, screw the third and his stupid law."
"Why? What did this law ever do to you?"
"I'm not supposed to know," Secilia sulked.
Naruto poked his head into the living room/dining room area. "Know what?" He asked guardedly.
Secilia made a sort of gesture towards his stomach. "That. Anyone tell you? Or am I going to have to hint to you without breaking the law until you get it."
"Mizuki told me," Naruto said softly. He looked contrite, almost sad until his face disappeared into the kitchen again.
"Of course he did," Secilia snarled.
"Did you know him?" Naruto's voice sounded faintly surprised.
"Naruto, I went to the academy too. Of course, I knew him. And he gave me my graduation exam. Oily creep. Wasn't overly surprised when he was reported a traitor. I should've known he'd tell you about him to throw you off."
"Him?" Naruto asked, poking his head in again. "Mizuki never said anything about himself."
"Naruto," Secilia said, giving him a deadpan stare. "I'm talking about the Kyuubi. I'm fairly sure it's a he. You can ask him if you want."
Naruto bobbed his head. "Maybe next time I talk to him."
"Well, let's just hope it's later, rather than sooner. I don't think any situation that could cause the Kyuubi to come out would be beneficial to anyone's health."
"Yeah," Naruto agreed. He disappeared again, then came out, holding two hot cups of ramen. He set one down in front of Secilia, handing her a pair of chopsticks.
"Y'know, remind me to go shopping with you next time you require food. Then you'll have fewer issues. Even if people are going to be very confused if one of the last two loyal Uchiha is hanging out with their 'demon boy'," she put parenthesis around the name, rolling her eyes to ensure Naruto didn't take it the wrong way. "Hey, Naruto, how sneaky are you in bright orange?"
"I dunno, sneaky enough to evade some chunin. But not Iruka-sensei. Iruka-sensei finds me every time."
Secilia smirked. "You don't mind if we find you some more camouflaged stuff just for the second exam? You'll be practically invisible."
Naruto stared at her for so long she managed to finish half the ramen cup as he apparently tried to process what she said. "So, you want me to not wear orange, so I'll be even less noticeable?"
"You're so used to sneaking around in a color that isn't even remotely easy to sneak around in, that with proper camouflage, you'll still be unconsciously compensating for the orange, and basically be invisible," Secilia explained. Unfortunately, Naruto didn't understand a word of what she said. "You'll be overdoing it, so you'll be invisible." Secilia tried again, and this time, understanding dawned on his face.
"Oh, you want me to be extra sneaky!"
Secilia sighed, slumping slightly. "Yes, Naruto. I want you to be extra sneaky."
"Oh, that makes sense," Naruto said, nodding sagely.
Secilia sighed heavily again. "Right, we may have time-" she was interrupted by a knock at the door. Naruto, of course, immediately got up to answer it, Secilia a half step behind.
"Oh, Kakashi-sensei! Didn't know you'd be dropping by!" Naruto, fake cheer dripping from his voice.
"I came to tell you, and your new house guest, that the second stage will be at Training Ground 44 at 9:00 tomorrow. Be on time."
Secilia nodded, narrowing her eyes at Kakashi. "We'll be there. My cousin is not to know of my mom's death until he gets disqualified or after the exam. Under punishment of me burning your perverted books."
"Why do all you kunoichi insist on threatening my books?" Kakashi asked rhetorically.
"Would you prefer I threatened your summons?" Secilia asked in reply.
Kakashi went pale. "Nope, the books are good!"
Secilia smiled at him sweetly. "If you're all done, Naruto and I are trying to have dinner."
As Kakashi didn't have anything else to say, he backed off slightly, and Secilia closed the door in his face.
Secilia turned away from the door, settling back down at the table.
Naruto watched her with an amazed look on. "You threatened Kakashi-sensei!" He said once he'd found his voice.
Secilia swallowed the mouthful of noodles, then replied. "Yeah, what of it? Jade-sensei threatens to castrate him all the time. I figured burning his books would be more appropriate. I suppose I could've used evisceration, but eh."
Naruto blinked at her like he didn't know what the words meant. Which he probably didn't.
"They both mean destroying parts of the human body," Secilia deadpanned.
Naruto blinked at her again. "Okay."
Secilia shook her head. "You gonna finish that?" She pointed to his unfinished cup of ramen.
He quickly emptied his cup, just as Secilia finished hers.
(A/N) Well, apparently, Secilia and Naruto wanted to argue. Forest of Death should be next week. Probably.
