Forest of Death
Secilia and Naruto arrived at Training Ground 44 at the appointed time. Secilia had her backpack, and Naruto had one as well. Secilia had ensured Naruto wouldn't starve to death, making sure he had enough food stored away in his backpack. And weapons. She'd made sure he had weapons too.
"Ah, you're all here, good," Anko shouted, a stack of papers held securely in her hands. "All non-Leaf Genin come and sign a waiver releasing Konoha from any blame in case you die in there. Once that's done, get a scroll and number from the Chunin over there. You have five days to get a scroll marked with heaven, and a scroll marked with earth, then get to the tower in the center. HAVE FUN KIDDIES!"
Secilia shook her head. "Anko, you're nuts."
"I know," she replied, grinning maniacally.
Secilia shook her head, sighing. "Clearly. See you in a few days, crazypants."
"See you around cute little Genin!"
Secilia sighed again, moving away to collect a scroll and her teammates.
Secilia and her teammates stood in front of the gates to training ground 44, or, the Forest of Death. They stood at Gate 14, Naruto's team wasn't even in sight, but the gates were quite far apart. Their team had a earth scroll.
"GO!" Anko shouted through the speaker system. All the gates swung open, allowing the Genin entry, then closing behind them.
"Where are we going?" Ross asked Secilia.
"To find Team 7. Stars know they're going to need the help."
"No faith in your cousin?" Kia asked, smirking at her.
"Nope!" Secilia replied immediately, grinning at her. "Not with fangirl and Naruto at his side. Fangirl's useless, and Naruto... is Naruto."
"So, I noticed you and Naruto arrived together," Ross said conversationally.
"Yep, I stayed the night at his house. No, I don't really feel like telling you why. No, it wasn't planned, and no, we didn't do anything even remotely sleepoverish."
Ross pouted slightly at being cut off so quickly and efficiently. "Just wondering." She threw a kunai into the bushes, probably nailing some creature or other in the head. "Large snake, I wouldn't suggest eating it. It's both a summons and weirdly tainted."
"Poisonous?" Secilia asked, keeping the conversational tone of their previous conversation.
"I don't know, I don't recognize the species. So, do you know where Team 7 is?"
"This way. Sorta. They're fairly far away, so I can just vaguely tell they're in this direction," Secilia shrugged, almost like she didn't care.
"Trees?" Kia asked, glancing around.
Secilia thought for a second, then nodded. "We'll go faster that way, and run into less creepy snakes. And probably fewer teams."
The three girls lept into the trees, jumping from branch to branch in the direction Secilia knew Team 7 was.
"So," Ross said, edging closer to Secilia as much as their current form of travel would allow. "Anything going on we should know about?"
"After the exam," Secilia promised. "You'll find out when Sasuke does."
"So, never?" Kia asked skeptically. "You hardly tell your cousin anything."
"This is a personal matter. He will be informed after the second exam is over. If there are preliminaries, he will be informed after his match is over," Secilia replied icily. "I do not wish to talk about it at this time, as I need to be able to see the branches ahead, and tears would not permit that."
Kia and Ross looked at each other, before dropping the subject.
"So, Secilia, get any farther on your sealing project?" Ross asked, attempting to break the semi-awkward silence between them.
Secilia nodded slightly. "Some, yes. The paralyzing seal is almost completed. Just have to figure a few things out. As for the Hirashin, I'm working on it. It requires a lot of chakra, so I haven't made much progress."
"Well, good luck with that," Ross replied, nodding slightly. "We getting close?"
"Yeah. I can sense them individually if that's what you mean. Still a kilometer or so away from them though. Weird, they have a fourth signature with them, and it's a really powerful one. Like, kage powerful."
Kia frowned, hand closing around her katana. "That's not possible for a genin. Is it a tailed beast holder?"
"I can't tell if it's a jinchuriki or not, Kia. I'm not that good. And besides, there should be only two Jinchuriki in the exam, Gaara, and Naruto. A third would've been registered. Not all jinchuriki have the joy of having such a great seal as Naruto does. His seal is very powerful and ensures the Kyuubi never takes him over. I doubt Gaara's seal is any good if the tired black circles are anything to go by."
"I suppose you're right," Ross agreed.
"We need to get there now." Secilia sped up, forcing Kia and Ross to do the same. "Something's wrong with Naruto, his chakra is fluctuating weirdly."
The three girls landed on a branch overlooking the battle just in time to see Sasuke receiving a bite to his neck.
"SASUKE!" Secilia shouted, her Sharingan activating of its own accord, two tomoe spinning in each eye.
"Ooo, a second Sharingan," The person purred, their weirdly long neck swinging around to lunge for Secilia. "Don't mind if I do."
Secilia crossed her arms in front of her face, glad she's chosen to wear what was basically a turtle neck instead of the traditional open necked high collar shirts that Uchiha usually wore.
Instead of dodging her arms and going for her neck, or somewhere else, the person bit into her right arm, retreating just as quickly as it had struck.
Then, the pain hit. Secilia screamed, left hand clasped over her right arm, where the bite had happened. She screamed once more, then passed out, slumping over bonelessly.
(A/N) I will be sticking to my thing of just Secilia's perspective, so basics of what the people were doing before the three awoke will have to do.
