"Heya y/n". A surprisingly cheerful voice sang as you walked through the corridors of Stark Towers towards the lounge. "Ah hello there Bucksicle." You stopped and turned to face him as he down to you. "Bucksicle? Really?" He rolled his eyes as you nodded.

"So where are you heading? He said. "to the lounge. I gotta watch some Sherlock." You rubbed your hands together as if you were hatching a villainous scheme. "That's the show with Benjamin Cumberland in, right?" He said casually as he flopped onto tbthe sofa, taking up the whole seat. "His name is Benedict Cumberbatch, and move your freakishly long legs". He moved his legs so that you could sit down and then casually dropped them over your lap. You huffed and rolled your eyes but couldn't be bothered to say anything.

Halfway through the episode 'A scandal in Belgrave' Bucky suddenly got an idea. For months now he had been crushing on you so using his knowledge on you, he had just thought of a foolproof way to get you on a date with him.

"Dearest L/n" he fluttered his eyelashes innocently. You ignored him. "L/n...L/n...oi...oi...oi..." He kept tapping you like an impatient child. "Ugh, what do you want you imbecile." You paused your show.

"Well it has just come to my attention that I have a few pictures of you that you might not want the others to see." He said smoothly. You looked at him strangely. What pictures? I haven't taken any nudes...not that I can remember.

"And what pictures are you going on about Barnes?" You glared at him through half open eyes. He darkly chuckled. "Well on one there is a video of you, completely wasted, wearing an iron man mask, captain America shirt, a long blonde wig, an eyepatch, green feet and purple shorts wielding a copy of Mjornir, a metal arm, a bow and arrow, throwing spiders, with wings and a red leather jacket, screaming at the top of your lungs while spinning round  "THEY TOLD ME THAT I COULD BE ANYTHING I WANTED, SO I BECAME THE AVENGERS!!!" He started laughing and snorting. "I have no idea what you are going on about." You shook your head and crossed your arms, although you did.

It had been the Halloween before you joined that avengers and you'd thought that it would be funny if you went as all of them, to be honest your outfit was on point. You couldn't remember exactly what happened that night but you had seen the video he was referring to, and you prayed to every God and goddess that Bucky was just bluffing.

"Let's see this video then." You ordered, trying to keep your cool. "Of course." Bucky pulled out his phone and showed you the pictures and videos of that night. After seeing them all, you put your face in your hands and wanted the ground to swallow you up.

"Please don't show the others." You pleaded. Bucky looked as if he were thinking for a second. "On one condition." He said agonisingly slowly. "And what's that?" You said urgently. "You have to go on a date with me."

Just before exiting your car and meeting Bucky at the restaurant, you text Natasha.

To: Nat
Sup, so basically Bucky has some unflattering pictures of a Halloween a few years ago and is threatening to show y'all them. I need you to find every drunk or embarrassing pic of Bucky and release them around S.H.I.E.L.D and the tower.

To: you
Okay!!! Also where will I find these embarrassing pics of you?

To: Nat
Bucky will probably show everyone.
Anyway g2g, and thanks.

To: you
No problemo, have a good time!

You put your phone on silent and put it in your black clutch bag before on into the fancy restaurant that Bucky had booked for that night.

He stood up as soon as you walked in and pulled out your chair for you, but not before giving you a little kiss on the cheek. A slight blush dusted your nose and cheeks.

He looked extremely handsome. He wore a smart black suit and a pristine white shirt. His hair was pulled back into a small ponytail and sat at the nape of his neck. His eyes seemed to dance in the candlelit restaurant and his firm lips were pulled at the edges to produce a loveable, innocent smile of true happiness.

"You look beautiful tonight, like usual." He charmed as he took a sip of wine. "As do you James, you're looking very handsome tonight." You replied. A silence fell over the table as you both remembered the circumstances in which you were having this date.

"I was never going to show anyone, actually I deleted them". He looked down at the table. Your eyes widened. "What do you mean?" You creased your eyebrows. "It's just that I used them because I was afraid that you would reject me so I wanted to make a foolproof way of getting you on a date. It's rather childish really". He continued, pretty embarrassed. You took his metal hand in yours. "Bucky, I would never have rejected you. You're are my best friend before anything and if you just said that you were going to give me nice food and pleasant company, I would have agreed. Never be afraid to ask me things." You held his hand firmly and looked into his clear, magnificent blue eyes as you said these words that were from the heart. He chuckled a bit and pressed his lips to your hands in the most sincere way possible.

Everything was perfect. No embarrassing pictures were going to be leaked.
Oh shit, you thought, Natasha has Bucky's! However there wasn't much you could do. You just decided to enjoy this exquisite date before having to face the problem.

When you arrived back at Stark tower, with your arm interlinked with Bucky's, you found the lounge alive with howling laughter. As you walked in all of the heads turned towards you and the laughing became louder.

On the projection board you could see the video of you playing, acting like a idiot. But you didn't bat an eye, you just laughed with them. Bucky looked in horror, "I didn't do this. I have no idea how this happened. Wait, why are you laughing?" You looked puzzled. "Eh it's only a video, and it is pretty funny. Plus, you'll be soon". You said casually before walking off and sitting next to Sam.

"Okay guys next one. We've seen Iron Man drunk, Falcon drunk, Hawkeye, Y/sh/n absolutely smashed, and you have seen myself drunk." Natasha said from the projector. All eyes were trained on her. "Now it's time to see what the good ol' Captain A and Winter get up to". Bucky and Steve looked at each other in horror before taking a big gulp. Natasha clicked a few buttons before the first one came up.

The room erupted in cheers and laughter. "What the hell is Stevie doing there?" Tony clutched his chest. "It seems that captain Rogers is looking at his impeccable muscles". Thor boomed.

Click.

"What in gods name are you wearing?" It was Steve's turn to laugh now at Bucky. "I can't actually remember. That night is a blur." Bucky shook his head and laughed along with everyone.

Click.

"Damn Bucky, you look wasted in that one." Sam clapped his back. "I was." Bucky answered pretty cockily. "I don't remember much about that night as well". You laughed and put your head on his shoulder as the slideshow played one, showing the avengers in there most embarrassing and inebriated states. He put his head on yours and held you to his chest.

After the slideshow had ended Bucky walked you to your room. "Thank you for the lovely dinner and all. It was amazing and I'd like to do it again sometime." You smiled at him. He blushes slightly, as did you. "Id love that. Anyway have a good sleep." He went to kiss your forehead you pulled him down to kiss your lips.

The kiss didn't last very long but while his lips were on yours, you felt as though you were on top of the world. All this time you had felt like something was missing. But now with Bucky you felt complete.

You never knew it before but you had always loved James Buchanan Barnes.
