I know this isn't a request but I had this idea soo

Backstory:
It's 3019. A software has been developed to send you into a different world, with different game drives for each world. You get the drive for the Avengers world, and are part of the team. You and Bucky are already together.

You walked into the living room, plopping down next to Bucky and kissing his cheek.

"Hey handsome." You said, making him smile.

"Hey beautiful." He turned and pecked your lips. "What are you doing?"

"Well, we just got called in again, with Steve. Fury wants us to depart as soon as possible." You said, a serious look on your face. He sighed deeply.

"We just got back." He stood, then took your hand and pulled you up. "We need a break after this, okay?"

"Agreed." You walked hand in hand to the elevator, preparing for your mission.

You were the 'portal jumper'. Everyone knew of your other life in reality. There were times you had to leave for a while, but you always came back.

****time skip brought to you by seeing red stars and being like 'Bucky I know you're here'****

"Where is he?!" Bucky shouted, running down the infirmary halls with you close behind.

A nurse turned to him. "Sir, you need to calm-"

"Don't you dare tell him to calm down." You snapped. "His best friend is in there, you'd better tell me where." The amount of venom in your voice surprised Bucky.

"S-Second door on the right-t." She stuttered, and you took Bucky's hand before walking in the room.

A very pale Steve layed there, his abdomen bloodied and bandaged.

"Oh god, Steve." Bucky whispered, releasing your hand and taking his.

"Buck." Steve croaked. "I-I think this is the end of the line, pal."

"No. Don't you dare do this."

"I - I'm sorry."

"Come on, you punk, stop joking. You'll be okay."

"You need to know-"

"We're not saying goodbye."

"You need to know... when I had nothing, I had you. Thank you, ya jerk." And with a small smirk, Steven Grant Rogers took his last breath in a hospital bed, his best friend screaming by his bedside as you cried over him.

"Bucky?" You ask quietly, poking your head into his room. The was only a sniffle, so you let yourself in and sat next to him on his bed. He was sitting up, hunched over, his hair making a curtain around his face. You pulled him to you, and he wrapped his arms around you as his soft cries filled the room.

"Please make it stop." He said. You felt the tears cloud your eyes.

"I can do that." You replied, bringing his face level to yours. "But I'd have to go for a bit. But only a few minutes." You choked out, trying to feign happiness.

"Promise you'll come back?" He asked. You wiped his tears away and gave him a lingering kiss.

"I always come back." You faked a smile, kissing his forehead before standing and walking out of the room.

"Computer 24, (Y/N) is ready to disconnect." You spoke into the air, and your surroundings dissolved around you, bringing you to a menu page.

There were three doorways, one labeled 'continue', one labeled 'new game', and one labeled 'exit'.

You wiped your eyes and sniffled.

"I'll make the pain stop, Bucky. I love you."

And you stepped foreward, into the doorway marked 'new game'.
