Rachel was in Ohio after her flop of a tv show, she didn't want to face new York at all and she took her little daughter Anya with her as New York also reminded her of Finn who had let her go when she first got into NYADA. Anya was a lot like her mum with her talent, and the only thing she got from her dad Finn was her eyes. Finn had passed away, and it was hard on them both. Anya was 8 and already a little diva like her mum.

So here Rachel was in Westerville Shopping mall looking for school supplies for her daughter who was being looked after by her dad Leroy. Rachel wanted to be away from everything McKinley, but it was hard because Rachel didn't have a lot of money, and she and Anya were living with her dad.

As Rachel looked at a small purple backpack with gold stars on it for her daughter she heard

"Dad, why do I have to go shopping, you know I hate it."

"Because we are shopping for you to go back to school Claudette, I dislike shopping as much as you, but this we have to do so you have everything for school. You can pick what bag you want for school."

Rachel knew the dad's voice and she quickly turned and saw none other than Sebastian Smythe with a little girl who looked the same age as Anya and kneeling in front of her.

As Sebastian stood up, and took his daughter's hand, he looked up from his daughter and saw Rachel. He was shocked and surprised as she was. Sebastian picked up Claudette and said

"Broadway, long time no see. How has New York and the Broadway stages treating you and how have you been?" Rachel was thankful Sebastian didn't mention her TV show. She stood awkwardly and said

"It's been okay. I've had to stop performing at the moment because of my daughter Anya I couldn't be happier with putting Broadway on hold for her. And with Finn Anya's dad passing away, it's been hard for her and I both, but we're getting by." Sebastian felt for Rachel he knew how much Rachel loved Finn. Sebastian still holding his daughter, gently reached for Rachel's hand and said

"I'm sorry about Finn. And I bet anything he would be proud of you and proud of the mum you are Broadway." Rachel felt touched by his words and said

"Thank you Sebastian, that was really kind of you to say." Sebastian nodded his at her and then said

"This is actually my daughter Claudette. She's 8, she's basically a little mini of mine, but I wouldn't change her anything in the world." Rachel smiled at her and said

"I have a little girl too, her name is Anya, she's the same age as you." Claudette's eyes went wide eye in excitement and said

"That's so cool, I can't wait to meet her, if you're okay with it that is." Rachel was taken back by her forwardness that she gets from Sebastian, but she liked that Anya could have a friend her own age, and she said

"I'm okay with it." Claudette was happy, and Sebastian looked at her and said

"We should let Rachel be, so we can finish shopping for your school supplies, ma douce Claudette." Claudette nodded her head and waved Rachel goodbye as Sebastian and Rachel changed numbers. Claudette looked at her dad showing her green eyes at him as they walked away from Rachel and said

"How do you know her daddy?" Sebastian kissed his daughter's cheek as they continued shopping and said

"I knew her from high school." Sebastian continued on shopping while answering his daughter's questions about Rachel.

Rachel got home and had a lot on her mind, as she placed everything on the table, she felt tiny arms around her leg. She looked down and saw Anya. Rachel kneeled down and hugged her tight and said

"My sweet Anya." Anya smiled at her and said

"Sorry I stayed with Papa mummy while you went shopping for me to start at my school." Rachel smiled and tucked hair behind Anya's ear and said

"It's okay my sweet. I know you would have been uncomfortable and unsure since you are starting at a new school." Anya nodded her head as she hugged Rachel. Rachel remembered Sebastian and his daughter Claudette, and thought of her earlier thought of Anya already having a friend.

Rachel kissed Anya's forehead and said

"While I was shopping for your school supplies, I bumped into an old friend of mine from when I went to high school, he has a little girl too she's your age, if you want to meet her I can arrange something with her dad." Anya was unsure and said

"I don't know mummy, I never really had any friends and when I thought I did they made me sad, so I don't know." Rachel understood Anya's pain of not having friends because she too went through that. Rachel hugged her and said

"What if I said, when I told my old friend and his little girl about you, his daughter said she couldn't wait to meet you." Anya was still a little unsure and said

"Okay, I'll try."

A few days later, Rachel and Anya met up with Sebastian and his daughter Claudette, and Rachel was happy that Anya was becoming comfortable around Claudette.

Sebastian looked at Rachel as he sat down next to her watching the two girls play, and said

"You okay Broadway?" Rachel nodded her head and said

"I am, I'm happy that Anya is comfortable around your daughter. She's never really had any friends, so seeing her with Claudette, makes me happy." Sebastian put a comforting arm around Rachel and said

"Claudette will look out for Anya, and protect her. I promise you that she will." Rachel looked at Sebastian and said

"I know she will."

They fell into a comfortable silence, and Sebastian was reminded of why he fell in love with Rachel all the way back in highschool, it was because she believed him and always has. Sebastian looked at Claudette and Anya and then back at Rachel and said

"I can't help but wonder that we were meant to see each other in that shop a few weeks ago." Rachel looked at Sebastian and like always she thought about him and has since they remet. And she softly spoke

"I wonder the same thing." Sebastian gave a small smile as they watched their kids and rachel softly asked

"What happened to Claudette's mum?" Sebastian's smile fell and said

"Her mum decided that she didn't want to be apart of our lives anymore and left." Rachel placed a hand on Sebastian's and said

"I'm sorry for asking I didn't mean too." Sebastian shook his head and said

"It's okay Streisand, you didn't know." Rachel continued to hold his hand as they watched their kids play on the slide.

Sebastian softly spoke

"You know I had a crush on you in highschool?" Rachel was shocked at what Sebastian had said, and she said

"You what?" Sebastian looked at her and said

"Had a crush on you, actually I still do. I think it was fate that we remet." Rachel gave a small smile and said

"I think so too."

Sebastian kissed Rachel, and his heart sang as she kissed him back, and as they pulled apart, they saw Claudette and Anya smiling up at them and Anya looked at him and said

"You aren't going to hurt my mummy are you?" Sebastian smiled at Anya and said

"I promise you that I will not hurt your mummy, and I will not hurt you." Anya smiled at him and said

"Then I'm okay with it." And Rachel gave a smile at Claudette and said

"And I won't ever leave you and your dad I promise." Claudette hugged Rachel and said

"Thank you."

A few months later, Sebastian let Rachel and Anya move in with him and Claudette, and Sebastian always encouraged Rachel to perform on the local stages around Ohio, because he believed that they deserved to hear Rachel sing again, which Anya and Claudette agreed too, and a month later Sebastian had proposed to her with the kids help.

Rachel couldn't have imagined that her and Anya are happy and loved and Anya has a loving dad, and Claudette has her as a mum and Anya as a sister and she and Sebastian are happy and in love.
