CHAPTER - 9
- In KGF.....
Under the silvery sheen of the moonlight, the chaos in the mansion reached its boiling point.
The confrontation between Kamal and Rocky was inevitable—like two storms colliding, each fueled by their own agendas, pride, and fury.
Rocky stood tall and imposing, his sharp features illuminated by the moonlight streaming through the shattered windows. His dark eyes locked onto Kamal, who staggered slightly but straightened, brushing off the earlier blow.
Aadhya clutched her side, still recovering from the earlier tussle, but her sharp gaze didn't waver.
Kamal sneered, his golden-brown eyes glittering with defiance.
Kamal - So the great Rocky finally shows up. Took your time, didn't you? Maybe you're not as invincible as everyone claims.
Rocky didn't reply immediately, his eyes flickered to Reena who was sleeping soundly then to Aadhya to ensure she was unharmed.
He then turned his full attention to Kamal, his expression a mix of disdain and warning.
Rocky - You made a mistake coming here.
Kamal chuckled, his voice laced with mockery.
Kamal - Bold words. But I've never been one to back down from a challenge. Especially when you've taken something that's mine.
Rocky - Yours?
Kamal - Wanna bet?
Rocky's fists clenched, his fury simmering beneath the surface. Without another word, he surged forward, his punch swift and devastating. Kamal barely managed to block it, the force pushing him back a few steps.
Rocky's strikes were brutal, each one calculated to incapacitate. Kamal, on the other hand, was quick and cunning, weaving between blows and countering with sharp jabs of his own.
The sound of fists meeting flesh echoed through the grand hall, accompanied by the occasional grunt of pain.
Kamal landed a punch to Rocky's jaw, momentarily stunning him, but Rocky recovered with a feral growl.
His retaliation was swift—a crushing blow to Kamal's ribs followed by a powerful kick that sent Kamal sprawling across the floor.
Rocky stepped back, giving Kamal a chance to rise. His voice was cold and unyielding.
Rocky - You've got guts....Coming here is not a choice that everyone can make.
Kamal - You think you're the hero in this story, Rocky? Protecting everyone, playing the savior. But you're just as ruthless as the rest of us. That's what she thinks doesn't she?
He smirked, wiping the blood from his lip.
Rocky's eyes darkened, and without warning, he grabbed Kamal by the collar, lifting him off the ground effortlessly.
Kamal struggled, his hands clawing at Rocky's grip, but the strength behind it was unrelenting.
The door opened as the guards of KGF rushed inside with Vanaram. His eyes scanned across the room where Reena slept peacefully, Aadhya being hurled up in the corner while holding her side and Rocky holding Kamal by the neck.
Rocky hurled Kamal across the hall as he crashed into a marble pillar, groaning while being crumpled to the ground. Rocky's men, who had entered moments before, rushed to surround Kamal, their weapons drawn and ready.
Vanaram - Kasim told us everything.....Are you okay, Rocky?
He asked as his displayed concern for his leader while Rocky remained silent, the words of Kamal replaying in his mind.
The tension in the grand hall was suffocating, every breath seeming to echo the unspoken words between Rocky and Kamal.
The guards had dragged Kamal to his feet after his near defeat, but Rocky raised a hand, signaling them to hold. His dark eyes bore into Kamal with unrelenting force.
Rocky - Tell me the truth. Why are you here and how come you've recovered that soon?
His eyes darkened seeing that there was no discomfort being seen on Kamal when it was just yesterday when Rocky shot him in the leg.
Kamal leaned against one of the guards, his breath labored but his tone sharp and unwavering.
Kamal - I tend to recover soon and I didn't come here to play hero...Just came to stop you.
Rocky's eyes twitched in amusement.
Rocky - You came to stop me....inside my own empire?
Kamal - Yeah....Like I said, I love challenges besides I love Reena too much that I don't want you to ruin her.
Rocky's jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides.
Rocky - You don't get to talk about what ruins her. You don't even know what it took to keep her alive.
Kamal - Oh, I know. Believe me, I know. You killed her parents. That's what she sees, Rocky. That's what she'll always see. The man who stole her perfect family.
Rocky took a step closer, towering over Kamal, his presence overwhelming.
Rocky - Perfect? Is that what you call two people who spent their lives trying to destroy her?
Kamal's expression hardened, his golden-brown eyes locking with Rocky's unflinching stare.
Kamal - Maybe you didn't enjoy it. But you never told her the truth, did you? You let her believe the lie because it was easier for you.
Rocky's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper, his anger barely contained.
Rocky - You think you understand everything, don't you? Like you've been carrying this burden alone. You don't know what it's like to make choices no one should have to make.
Kamal stepped forward, ignoring the guards who tried to pull him back. His voice was steady but laced with resentment.
Kamal - You were not the one who was there for her when she was at her lowest....Who said I don't know anything? I know enough. I know that you saved her life, but all she knows is that you destroyed the life she thought she had. You left her with nothing but anger and questions, and I was the one picking up the pieces while you played the silent protector.
Rocky's eyes flashed with fury, but there was a glimmer of suspicion laced with regret and pain.
Aadhya - How is that you were the one picking up the pieces when you only knew she was alive yesterday?
Aadhya asked as she stood up carefully while holding her side. The room suddenly dimmed with silence as Kamal glared at Rocky while Rocky just looked at with a cold look.
Rocky - You should've been given an award for acting dumb all this time.
He walked slowly towards him, like a predator stalking his prey.
Rocky - You think being there for her makes you better than me? That it erases everything else? You were there because I let you be. Because I couldn't risk dragging her deeper into my world.
Kamal shook his head, his voice dropping to a softer tone.
Kamal - You can hate me all you want, Rocky. But the truth is, you'll never have her. Not like this. Because every time she looks at you, all she sees is blood on your hands.
Rocky's lips curled into a grim smirk, but his eyes were cold.
Rocky - That blood saved her. And if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate. You think your presence means she doesn't hate herself for leaning on you? For not being strong enough to stand alone? You don't know her as well as you think you do.
The two men stood in silence for a moment, the weight of their words hanging heavy in the air. Kamal finally broke the tension with a bitter laugh.
Kamal - You're wrong about one thing, Rocky. She's stronger than both of us. She just doesn't know it yet. And when she does, she'll make her choice. And I hope you're ready for what that choice might be.
Rocky didn't flinch, his gaze unyielding.
Rocky - She's free to make her choice. But don't mistake my silence for weakness, Kamal. If you ever try to take her from me again, you won't leave alive next time.
Without another word, Rocky turned to Vanaram.
Rocky - Lock him up. Sector 1. I don't want to see his face for now.
As Kamal was dragged away, his laughter echoed through the hall, haunting and defiant.
Kamal - The truth always comes out, Rocky. And it's gonna hurt you a lot.
Rocky stood still for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then, he glanced at Aadhya, who watched silently from the shadows, and gave her a single nod.
The storm wasn't over—not by a long shot.
