The Coat of The Creatress
Long ago, her fey skin was dotted with lands galore,
cerulean oceans, green grass,
and people — her children — with love, she bore.
She wore a coat, that was protective and more:
it sheltered mother and children from the Sun's rays,
the children, which with love, she bore.
But her pellucid coat was torn by her bambinos,
day by day, inch by inch, until alas!
It protects, perseveres, shelters no more.
For through the holes began a blazing war
as the fire turned her body to ashes.
She protects, perseveres, smiles no more.
The wildfire did not come to an end before
it had scorched every last bit of her ethereal flesh.
She protects, perseveres, smiles no more.
Sapphire seas, azure skies, golden shore,
all lost in a moment, shattered like glass
by the children, which with love, she bore.
She protects, perseveres, smiles no more.
That was version 2! Up to all of us to decide which ending we shall choose, mn? 🍀
For fellow poets, especially my darlings ManuAndhale, RovenaNatasha and hermiosa_reina, yepsie! This is a villanelle.
