[ THERAPIST ] : it is natalie, it is! nothing you say in here leaves this room, i promise you that. what i tell your parents is a very vague overview of what we've been talking about, mostly just how you're doing

[ THERAPIST ] : natalie please -

[ NATALIE ] : they're fake! they're fake! everything was fake! everything was fake! nothing was real! NONE OF IT WAS EVER REAL!

[ THERAPIST ] : natalie please! i need you to sit down!

[ THERAPIST ] : who made you up? who - who 'created' you natalie?

[ NATALIE ] : MAMA!

"this is officer grant milligan with the westview police department, i'm here with juliet carter regarding the disappearance of her daughter and another local teen" the tape recorder clicked as grant lifted his finger off the record button. his eyes flicked up to the teary eyed, snivelling woman next to him before he plopped himself down into the chair on the side of the small, metal table that was across from her

"can you state your name please, for the record?" he asked, leaning forward, elbows pressing against the table

"u - uhm . . . juliet carter, though everyone called me jules, 'cept my father, but he's dead now so . . ." her eyelids fluttered, turning glassy with a fresh set of tears, a stark contrast to the sad smile spreading across her face

"okay jules, can you run me through what happened the day your daughter went missing?" grant fought the urge to wince at the sight of the woman's wobbling lower lip, she'd been sobbing hysterically ever since she arrived at the station, and he didn't doubt she'd been doing the exact same thing beforehand

"w - well . . . uhm, she - she told me was going to sleepover at her friend billy's, which - which isn't out of the normal, the two of them are practically glued together at the hip!" juliet let out a weak, wobbly chuckle before she tried to continue "a - and she texted me that she got there fine and she - she was giving me a few updates b - but obviously, n - now i know he - he'd been saying he was over at hers s - so obviously they'd - they'd both been lying"

"did natalie say anything to you before she left for billy's? anything out of the ordinary? was she acting strange?" grant doubted the woman could even tell him what she'd had for lunch yesterday, between her hysterical fits and constant babbling and insisting the police just weren't doing enough, getting a consistent narrative from her had been damn near impossible

"n - not really, though she - she barely says a thing to me anymore, not since met that boy" by 'that boy' grant had guessed she'd met billy, he'd seen the way juliet's eyes would darken any time you said the kid's name

"god, i - i never should've let her go over there" juliet blubbered, shaking her head and pressing the heels of her hands to her eyes "i knew - i knew that boy was bad news! that - that he was - was manipulating her! that he was reason she - she - she barely speaks to me anymore! the reason she's been acting so different!"

grant sighed softly, he honestly didn't have to the heart to tell the woman that her daughter might've just been acting the way she was because she was just being a teenager, not because billy kaplan was some spawn from hell. "missus carter, you can't blame yourself for this, whatever happened to your daughter was an accident. best case scenario her and mister kaplan went on a spur of a moment road trip and their car's broken down and their phones have died -"

"no!" the woman's head snapped back up, bloodshot eyes wide and furious, though her tone wavered as she continued on "no, no, natalie's smarter than that! she - she'd know to keep her phone charged! or - or how to get help! she'd know to call me! she's - she's a very smart girl, she's always been so smart. she - she was a very bright little girl, people - people always used to tell me 'jules, your girls so smart, she's gonna do great things someday'" she began to chuckle weakly before her voice wobbled off into sobs

"i'm sure she is missus carter, but almost nine times out of time missing teenagers either just forget to keep their parents in the loop or are unable to -"

"you're not listening to me!" juliet slammed her hand against the table, sudden and loud enough noise to make grant jump just slightly "something is wrong! something is wrong with my daughter and it's because of that boy! a - and - and -"

"missus carter please -" grant tried to reach across the table towards the frantic woman, but she ripped her hand away almost as quickly as she'd slammed it against the table

"that boy he - he brings out the worst in her! it's - it's just like when - when that demon woman took her!"

grant's eyebrows knit together at juliet's words, this was the first he'd heard of a devil woman and a possible prior abduction "devil . . . missus carter has your daughter gone missing before?"

the blonde woman let out a gargled, whiny noise, dabbing her eyes with the corners of her sweater "b - back when - when that - that she - devil put us all i - in her twisted sitcom! she - she took my baby" she whispered, and the pieces slowly began to piece together in grant's head. wanda maximoff, that was the she - devil. the woman who'd tortured the town for days, grant himself had become the incompetent, bumbling, donut eating police station intern, the pain of the memories still have him shivering just to think about

"w - when it happened, we - we couldn't find natalie. i - i don't know what that woman was doing with her, or - or where she was, but i didn't see her again u - until a - at least a day after it all ended and - and when we did find her she was . . ." her voice cracked and wobbled, and for awhile the only sound she could make were soft sniffles "well she different"

"different how missus carter?" the urgency that dribbled from grant's voice was enough to make himself wince, but he could barely hear himself over the pounding in his ears

"she - she would barely speak! she - she refused to call charlie and i mom and dad for - for weeks! the - the doctors always said it was just - just trauma from and confusion from what had happened and she - she was so young so she was just - just confused, but i - i always knew, i always knew that - that something was - was wrong! that something was different!" juliet let out a choked, wobble sigh, shaking her head desperately as she wiped her eyes "she - she got better a - after a little while but she . . . she was never the same"

the blonde woman let out a choked sob, burying her face into her hands, makeup running down and staining her cheeks "that woman she - she changed her, she changed my daughter. she stole her from me"

the skin that wasn't her felt itchy and wrong on the bones that didn't belong to her. that was the first coherent thought natalie was able to form

between the blubbers of her brothers' names and the sobbing from the pain in her arms and hands, it was nearly impossible to form any type of thought, let alone a coherent one. and when she was finally able to, the police officers and people around her were too busy trying to pry her frantically scratching hands away from her reddening arms for her to tell them that something was wrong

she wanted her mom, her dad, her brothers, hell, she'd even take agnes ( or agatha or whatever the hell woman next door's real name, natalie still had no idea what she was really called ) but the only people who were there with her were police officers and scared civilians who just didn't understand, who could never understand, not even if she tried desperately again and again and over and over to explain it to them

though that didn't stop her from trying

"s'mthing's wrong!" she sobbed, shaking her head as she continued to kick at the police officer clutching her small hands tightly in her fists, trying to stop her from scratching her skin until it was raw and red and bleeding "s'mthing's wrong! let go of me! i - i have to - to fix it!"

the officer didn't listen, she just shook her head and shushed the crying preteen softly "i know, i know, everything's weird right now, but i can't let you hurt yourself -"

"you don't understand!" natalie shouted, still kicking desperately at the woman, even if she was continuing to miss miserably "you don't understand! s'not right! s'not the right skin! i have to get it off!"

the dark haired officer's expression shifted from the softer, more serious one it had been before, now she just looked confused, and a little frightened "w - what -"

"IT'S NOT MY SKIN! YOU HAVE TO GET IT OFF ME! YOU HAVE TO GET IT OFF!" natalie finally managed to land one desperate kick into the cop's side, hard enough to earn a pained grunt from the woman as her grip loosened just enough to natalie rip her hands free and begin scratch and claw desperately at any bare skin once again

"h - hey! hey, hey i need you to stop! you're gonna hurt yourself -" natalie screamed the moment the officer's hands reached towards her once again. she instinctively turned her body away, still clawing at her reddening skin

"no! nononononono! no i have to - to fix it! i have to get it off me!" she sobbed, soft, angry sobs falling from her lips as she itched her skin, but no matter how much she tried, the feeling of ithcing and wrongness of the skin against her twitching, aching bones never went away

a choked, high pitched whine fell from natalie's lips as her eyes squeezed shut, her body curling in on itself as she pressed her knees up against her eyes, the frantic scratching of her hands slowing to barely any movement, just barely twitching every now and then

"it's wrong, it's wrong" she babbled, shaking her head as her body shook and quivered with each choked sob "s'not my skin, s'not my skin, s'not mine, s'not mine. get it off me, GET IT OFF!"

in time, she would learn to live with the constant, faint itchiness, the strangeness of the way her bones felt against her muscle. the burning sensation of wrongness of the body she'd become trapped in would eventually dull into a barely visible spark, one that barely gave off heat, one you could forget was even there if you didn't think about it too hard. it would always be there, but natalie would become very good at pretending it wasn't

but in the moment, it was the most inhuman form of torture and pain she'd ever experienced

natalie maximoff shouldn't exist. she shouldn't have existed before, and she definitely shouldn't exist now

she is the figment of a broken woman's imagination, and that was all she would ever be

she wasn't natalie carter, the sweet, bright daughter of a happy, loving marriage, surrounded by a happy, loving family. she wasn't even really natalie maximoff, if she thought about it hard enough. natalie maximoff wasn't a real person. how could she be someone if that someone wasn't a real person?

she should've died, she should've burned to a crisp the moment she exited the womb and entered the world. normal babies don't just come out of thin air, normal babies don't make glassed explode when they get upset, normal babies aren't born to a demon and a robot, normal babies don't posses the corpse of a dead child inside of just moving onto hell like a normal spawn of satan

she could always feel the sickly icy cold breath of death on her neck, a constant reminding that she should be dead, that she should've burned, that it was only a matter of time before they were finally able to wrap their icy cold, skeleton hands around her neck and drag her down to hell where she belonged

the thought of death, the fear of being dragged down to the eternal fires of pain and suffering, keep her up at night. the simple reminder that she shouldn't be here anymore, that she shouldn't have been there to begin with, made her itchy bones ache and her burning skin feel lien to was rotting like it should've been almost six years ago when it died

natalie maximoff shouldn't exist, and she wished she didn't

author's note

wassup gang? welcome to season of the witch, my current hyperfixation, source of joy and inspiration, and only reason for living! this fic might literally be my magnum opus, writing / putting together this intro simultaneously took years off my life and gave me insane amounts of energy and joy, enough to make me live forever

in all seriousness, this fic might be one of the most well crafted and greatest things ive ever put together, i have not stopped thinking about it since the idea first popped into my head, and any form of support towards it means the world to me!!

natalie is my little baby, she means the world to me!! she brings the fun and whimsy to the coven before she starts killing people! 🤭🤭

her and billy are such tortured little siblings it is literally them against the world! they are frequently bought together you must not separate them! ever! their reunion literally triggers most of his memories and both of their memories, and their bond is so strong the sigil doesn't work on either of them! they can hear eachother say their name because sibling magic! the only thing they want is their brother back!! they're dynamic and story is inspired by the quagmire triplets ( if yk yk, and i you for it )

i've also changed the timeskip between wandavision and agatha all along from three years to around five / six, just so natalie and billy are mentally and physically sixteen, so both of them 'died' when they were ten

warnings

this fic will contains mentions of murder, homophobia, dysfunctional parenting, codependent relationships, death of a parent, death of a child, death of a sibling, suicidal thoughts, gore, creepy stuff, and typical agatha all along shenanigans

none of the characters or properties belong to me, I only own natalie and her story, all rights belong to marvel and disney

dedications

thank you so much for taking interest! please don't be a ghost reader! spam the comments as much as you like, it makes me day so much to read what people are thinking as they go along, it makes me giggle and kick my feet and only brings me more motivation to write!

AliMustafaZ ginaherron taysprophecy risaspring cupidsangelwp icedheartss museguts

thank you again for taking interest! it means the world to me that people are interested in the silly little stories I have to tell!

final note

the therapy tape format is based on / inspired by my friend salem's scream fic 'bite the hand', if you want amazing writing and stories and visuals and characters that will infect your mind and take over your life, you should go read their amazing fics!! you won't regret it i swear!

please enjoy, and happy spooky season to all who celebrate!!
