°°°°°•°°°°°

The new day dawned as the sun threw her flawless wings across the sky in an all abound glorious yell of reddish-yellow. The sunlight was beautiful, and the weather was perfect. Seems like a great day, for great doings, and memorable occasions, but to me, it was just as annoying as every other day.

Why must the sun rise every single day?

Today was the worst; I was in a beautiful dream, which I probably would never remember, but all I know is the day is quite intrusive to disrupt disrupting my perfect dream.

The window blinds came open, and I groaned out in annoyance.

"Oh please!"

The bedspread was pulled off me, even though I tried to keep them on me.

"Why?" I groaned out again, but this time around it came out with a lazy yawn.

My eyes scanned the room; from the huge clock on the wall adjacent to my queen's size milk-colored bed, and then to the eager eyes of my persona assistant.

"C'mon Keji, you need to get your lazy ass off the bed," He said; jumping in beside me, and thereby bouncing me on the bed. He reached for my hands and pulled me off effortlessly.

Even if I tried to fight back, I would end up looking like a cockroach trying to pull a cow by its tail.

Reluctantly, I finally sat up on the bed and faced Enitan with my eyes blaring flames at him.

Having someone to disrupt your peaceful slumber in the morning is something I term annoying, but I'll like it overlook it and even give it a call of 'adorable' when it comes from Enitan.

To be sincere, I love that Enitan had been the first person I'll wake to see.

Apart from me, Enitan comes next.

Enitan Badejola; my best friend, personal assistant, and partner in crime, is that young handsome hunk who is heading to his late twenties, but still hangs around this boring bag of sack calling herself me.

We have been friends for as long as I could remember. We've come a long way, and we've been through a lot as friends, siblings, and family. Although we are both a sucked-up pair of a gloomy spinster and a bachelor out of the comics, we have remained close and I would never switch him for any other madcap out there.

"Why do you have to be so annoying?" I whined.

He laughed. "And cute."

I rolled my eyes, "Geez, you are quite hopeless."

He muffled down his laugh, in a failed attempt to seem serious, "What did I do this time?"

I opened my mouth to complain, but all I could do was yell in an inaudible voice, and he laughed.

Finally, I calmed down after yelling out my frustrations.

"Dude, why would you wake me out of my precious sleep," I said out, "And, that too, so early?"

He laughed once, "Don't let us go over this again, Keji," he grinned as he pulled me off the bed, "We'll be meeting Index today. I am so excited."

I rolled my eyes. Of course, his reason just had to be reasonable.

"Do I have to be anxious or worried?" I asked as I pulled on my morning robe.

He pulled me to face him, "Hey, you've got nothing to be worried or anxious about, Keji," He said.

"You are good, and Index sure knows that." He added, and then there was that glint in his eyes, "Besides, you've got me for that."

I hit the side of his arm playfully. "Thanks, Eni."

He faked out a wince, and I laughed.

"Ouch, those little fists of yours hurt."

I laughed harder, and he smiled, before childishly pulling my cheeks, "Now, go get ready superstar!" he ordered playfully, and I responded with a cheeky salute.

"Yes boss," I said and hurried into the bathroom.

I'll be meeting with the number one, top class, and top-notch music producers and directors of the very famous 'Index Records' which is rated one of the best recording planets in all of West Africa. We'll be looking to work together, and also that meant, working with their singer 'Rita Zee'.

I wasn't one to get nervous beforehand, I can't even recall if I had ever had that experience in the past. I was always ready, and up to the task, and I never expected too much, but I certainly wouldn't settle for any less.

Although, I had to admit that securing this contract with Index would turn my career around in the Music Industry, and it could make a big shake for my whole life. Therefore, I can say I am quite excited.

______

I watched as our jeep came to a full halt in the luxurious premises of The Index Records, and my eyes scanned the whole environment in awe of the beautiful and sophisticated designs they choose for everything.

From the lined-up garden in the middle of the whole compound, that was trimmed to perfection, to the smooth floors of their grounds which you could mistake for a growing silver plot. To my left, stood the luminous Recording Studio, and nearly adjacent to it was the Brain house of Index itself.

We all alighted and walked to the huge entrance of the Brain house, while our driver took the car to the underground parking lot.

As we walked, Enitan rubbed his elbow against mine, "Are you ready for this?"

Ready? C'mon, I was born ready.

The double crystalline doors were flung open by the doormen who stood watch of the entrance, ad behind the door was one of the most exquisitehallwaysexquisite hallways I had ever set my eyes on.

Got to admit it, but Index has got quite the taste for perfection.

A round gentleman stood at the door, with a smile, as his eyes scanned our little ground of three; I, my assistant, my secretary, and my manager who also happens to be my agent.

"Keji D, I suppose?" He asked.

I could only sense the fact that he held his nose too high in the clouds, and I just wished I could play with his fat arrogant attitude a while, and just linger onto his crazed ego, but I could only wish as Dandelion Root, my manager stretched forth his hand to the man for a handshake.

The man stared at his outstretched hand without accepting his shake.

Fuck, this guy has one big pride issue.

Dandelion smiled, being the good professional idiot he was, and dropped his hand.

"Yes, you are quite correct," He said, "I am Dandelion Root, agent for Keji Dolapo" he introduced himself, "and, she" he threw a glance to me, "is our very own lady of the hour."

The man turned to me with a huge smile, contrasting his earlier snooty smile.

"Well, nice to meet you in person, Keji D," he said to me.

Now, it's my turn to become heavy-headed with pride, as I snubbed his greetings, as looked away from him, "You can't seriously be keeping me under the scorching sun."

There wasn't much of the sun out, but I just wanted him to also feel my obvious egotistical attitude.

He got the message, and smiled nervously, "Ohalright, please do come in." he said, stepping away from the door, and wewalked in.
