12 - Friend And Foe
"Minato-san, Minato-san, what was your previous world like?"
Minato let out a nervous chuckle as Shisui Uchiha ran around him almost in circles. One moment he was behind him, one moment beside, and one moment behind. The Uchiha was certainly enthusiastic compared to his fellow clanmates. Ever since the grand reveal at the meeting, Shisui had been constantly visiting him whenever he was free and striking random conversations.
"Well...very different. I'd say it was much more modern. It shares about the same traditions as Konoha, but this place seems...older?" Minato answered hesitantly. Kakashi watched their interaction from behind, unamused. Of course, he had to be there- he was Minato's personal guard now. He just thought he'd be able to spend more time with his sensei from another world.... He should be the one asking questions, not some random Uchiha!
"Do you guys have flying carriages?" Shisui asked in excitement. "Or chakra powered carriages? Wait, that doesn't seem like that good of an idea after all, nevermind."
"Actually, we do have something similar. We have these things called 'Airplanes' that can fly. They're kind of shaped like a bird. If you're saying chakra powered carriages, we don't exactly have that, but we do have cars on wheels powered by petrol. I'm not quite familiar with their inner workings though," Minato chuckled at Shisui's descriptions. To be honest, the Uchiha was plenty of fun to hang out with. Minato didn't know much about him, but he was way warmer than other Uchihas.
At least, that's his conclusion from how Fugaku and Itachi merely glanced at him when they last met before leaving without a word. Itachi had the heart to bow slightly in acknowledgement, but he didn't seem interested in conversation either. Same goes for the Hyuugas. 'Come to think of it, everyone wasn't very social in Japan either. But here, you just walk up to someone and start a conversation and it'd be considered appropriate.'
"Shisui-san, are you a shinobi as well?" Minato asked out of curiosity. Judging from the way he moved, it did seem that way, but Minato was more curious about his rank as a shinobi. Maybe not a shinobi- a samurai? Do those exist here?
"Ah, of course! I'm at a Jonin level, so dont'cha underestimate me. Shisui of the Body Flicker, at your service," Shisui disappeared from sight before appearing right by Minato's left again, mock bowing to the man. Minato was taken aback by his speed, but chuckled at the bow. Shisui stood up straight again, hands on his hips. "Either way, where are you heading, Minato-san?"
"Ah, I'm heading to the Academy to visit Naruto," Minato responded with a smile. Since he first met the boy, he'd been visiting almost everyday. After all, he had nothing to do at all, and it's always nice to go out for a walk and breathe in the clean air in a world with barely as much pollution as Earth.
"Ah, the boy. You know, at this point, you might as well just adopt him," Shisui joked, glancing over at Minato, who sighed in contemplation. "Or wait...are you really going to adopt him?"
"Well, of course not without permission. After all, I'm still living in secret. With that said, you should stop calling me by my real name. I'm Mizuki. Mi-zu-ki, okay?" Minato sighed, forgetting that he was supposed to be using an alias as well. At this point, Shisui was going to expose him before he exposes himself. "I'm not sure if I should, though.... My son is still in another world."
"Well, you could always give him a brother," Shisui suggested. "It might get lonely for him."
"Definitely not. What belongs to this world belongs to this world, I'm not going to bring him away," Minato shook his head. Besides, two Naruto's sounded like the weirdest idea ever. At least in this world, one Minato was already dead. He silently wondered if it was okay for that thought to pass through his brain. "Ah, here we are."
The red roofs of the shinobi academy came into sight, and the laughter of children reached their ears. Minato scanned the crowd to look for the blonde boy, until he felt a tight hug around his waist. He looked down in surprise only to widen his eyes at Naruto who had his arms wrapped around him. "Mizuki! You're here again!"
"Yes, I am, Naruto," Minato laughed, ruffling the boy's hair. Gosh, he's adorable in every world. He lifted his head to see Iruka approaching them with a smile. "Hey, Iruka-sensei. How's Naruto been?"
"Better than ever, Mizuki-san. Tell him how much you've been improving, Naruto," Iruka huffed proudly with a puffed chest and crossed arms. The boy beamed at his teacher before turning back to Minato again, eyes almost glittering in excitement.
"Mizuki-san, I've been doing all of my homework, believe it!" Naruto let go of Minato as he hopped around the man in circles, before finally leaping onto him and hugging his legs. "Can we get ramen now??"
"Oh, Naruto. We've been getting ramen everytime we meet. How many times is that now?" Minato sighed with a smile. Naruto pouted, arms crossed. Ramen was the absolute best! Why couldn't they have ramen every single day? "You need to have something else on your diet, Naruto. Why not have some curry rice instead?"
Naruto gave it a thought before hesitantly complying. "Fine. But it better be good! Won't be better than ramen, though!"
"Sushi's better, kid. You need to be truly wise to understand that," Shisui joined in on the conversation out of nowhere, earning a glare from Naruto. Minato chuckled in amusement at the scene as Naruto fought back to defend his ramen's pride and dignity.
"Why are you even here!?"
"Because Mina- Mizuki-san wants to eat sushi with me."
"LIAR!"
Somewhere deep underground in Konoha were damp tunnels and passages far beneath the earth. Dirtied water dripped from the seeps in between the ceilings, and moss grew around small pipes that went through the walls. In the heart of it all was where Danzo hid, in the middle of his base for his very own private force, ROOT.
Danzo lived for Konoha. He swore he'd do anything to keep the peace in this village- the village that was supposed to be his. He would polish it to its very ideal version, no matter the cost, no matter the sacrifice.
After all, who else was going to do it? Hiruzen was way too soft-hearted to really take on the position of the village's leader, Danzo wasn't quite sure why he held that position. It was because of his weakness that led to multiple failures in Konoha. The Fourth Hokage at least had more willpower to protect the village- but he failed to stay alive.
That's when Danzo was supposed to step up, wasn't it? It was already infuriating enough when Hiruzen took the hat again, but now Minato Namikaze reappears upon the surface of earth.
A foreign entity? Damn right he was one. Danzo didn't understand how he was allowed to roam around Konoha as he wished, let alone do whatever he wanted with Konoha's only jinchuuriki. At this rate, Konoha is going to be destroyed again because of Hiruzen's foolishness. What kind of leader lets someone whose identity isn't completely confirmed touch their village's most prized weapon? Clearly he had been affected by the mere sight of Konoha's past 'hero'.
Foolish. Everyone was foolish. They were all too blind to this obvious threat. If it were any other village head seeing this situation, they'd laugh. 'Wow, your village leader has risen from the dead and he's not harmless at all and there's nothing to doubt!' It sounded absolutely absurd.
As powerless as this Minato Namikaze was physically, Danzo knew better than that. A mere familiar face and voice could cause the whole world to sway, even if he didn't have the ability to slaughter thousands in the matter of minutes. Because at some point of time, another Minato Namikaze did it. Minato Namikaze has once killed 1000 shinobi in the span of a minute, and lived as someone with a 'flee on sight' order.
Minato Namikaze was too powerful. His name was powerful, his face, his eyes, his voice, his presence. Even he, as weak as a civilian, can overpower anyone with the power of a sentence.
"Those are all my findings from my observations. What are your orders, Danzo-sama?"
Danzo's eyes narrowed. He stood up, holding onto his cane. The Uchiha Massacre was so close to completion, but Minato Namikaze might be an obstacle. He was already a highly possible threat. The sooner he would be gone, the better. Turning around to face the ROOT before him, he gave his command.
"Regardless of what method you use, how you dispose of him... Do not fail. I hereby order Minato Namikaze's assassination."

Question- If a character were to be kinda broken all of a sudden, would you rather see their slow healing progress or skip right to the main part? cons: im not very good at making slow healing progresses engaging and interesting, pros, its a little more realistic? i dont even know. maybe suddenly another idea that will make more sense will pop into my head.
also, quick Shisui doodle :P
