"utahime?"
"happy birthday kiyo. I hope you don't mind that I brought my students along, as I couldn't just leave them all the way in heiankyo", iori smiled.
'sure you can. you should've', sukuna mentally grumbled.
"of course I don't! do come in. I sure hope you all weren't freezing on your way here", kiyo smiled as she welcomed in the heiankyo students and their instructor into the gojō house.
"MY BROTHER!", tōdō shouted, to which itadori had flinched as he awkwardly waved.
"ah it's utahime!! what an unpleasant surprise~", satoru hummed, to which an irk mark had appeared on top of the scarred woman's forehead.
"satoru, behave", kiyo harshly whispered. "sorry about him. you know he doesn't mean it", the priestess assured, leading their friend over to the wide kotatsu — a low, wooden table frame covered by a blanket.
iori scoffed.
"and to think we even got you a present", the dark-haired female snarled, to which satoru had perked up at that.
"oh? let me see! I want to open it now", the twenty-nine year old demanded.
as everyone settled down, with nagi and uraume still preparing the ingredients for the hotpot, satoru decided that presents shall be opened first.
"nanami!! come sit next to me", satoru requested, to which the blonde had promptly taken a seat in between iori and itadori, who was around tōdō and yoshino.
the twins of course sat next to each other, with fushiguro beside sukuna, who was next to kiyo.
"let's start from the heiankyo people first", satoru grinned, extending his hands out as he only received one gift.
"eh?"
"we all pitched in and got you a single gift. hope you like it", iori said with a straight face.
satoru hummed as he unwrapped the present, to which it was an octogonal mirror that could be placed on the table in his room.
"huh?"
"s-since you're the greatest, iori-sensei suggested that we get you something that reflected that", miwa awkwardly explained, to which satoru had raised a brow, amused.
the four edo students glanced at each other, thankful that they changed their present for their sensei last minute.
"well, you're not wrong about me being the greatest. thank you~"
"and this is for kiyo-san", kamo said, taking out a small square box.
"thank you", the priestess smiled as she revealed a sculpture of a glass swan, to which the two kitsunes that had sneakily crawled onto sukuna's lap, were gawking at it.
"woahhhhhh!! it's so pretty mama!", nozomi commented, to which kiyo had nodded in agreement.
"iori-sensei said that kiyo-san reflected elegance, so we decided on that", miwa calmly informed, though she was internally fangirling.
"once again, thank you all for the wonderful gift", kiyo said as nanami was next.
"I assumed that you weren't collecting those beads anymore because of the recent event, however, since you already have the majority of them, I thought you should keep these", the blonde male explained as he handed the priestess two jaded beads.
"and as for you two's presents, I got you both matching books. in there contains some of the most wonderfully written poems of all times".
kiyo greatly appreciated the gift meanwhile satoru pouted a bit.
panda, inumaki, and maki slid a box that too contained a mirror for satoru, to which the male wondered if he was truly that much of a narcissist.
"tuna mayo!", inumaki said as he handed a pot of flowers to kiyo, who's smile had bloomed as she absolutely loved the vibrant colors of the roses and chrysanthemums.
"ooohhhh my turn, my turn!", itadori exclaimed, shoving a box of multicolored dango over to satoru, as he didn't even attempt to wrap it.
"and here's mine", kugisaki smiled, handing over a small rectangular box of monaka.
"and ours", fushiguro and yoshino said in sync as they gave a larger box of daifuku.
"UWAHHH!! ALL SWEETS!", satoru happily cheered, to which both hakaku and nozomi were salivating.
"don't eat too much, or else you're going to get rotten teeth", kiyo warned, hurriedly taking all the boxes and storing them away before satoru could dig in before dinner actually started.
"aw..."
"GOJŌ-SENSEI!", itadori shouted, making sukuna cringe at the loudness.
"HAI, YŪJI-KUN!"
"ARE YOU READY?!"
"SURE AM!"
the two hastily stood up as they pointed at kiyo, making the priestess wonder what was going on.
"SHE'S A BEAUTY, AND A CUTIE!
SHE'S THE BEST, AND NEVER RESTS!
WE LOVE HER WITH ALL OUR HEART,
AND WE CRY WHEN WE'RE APART!"
kugisaki, yoshino, and fushiguro were shocked — along with everyone else — but their face physically paled as they questioned when, where, and why.
"SHE'S A DREAMER, NOT A SCHEMER!
SHE'S A GODDESS, AND THAT WE PROMISE!
SHE IS THE PUREST, THAT WE HOLD THE DEAREST!"
hakaku and nozomi clapped along as sukuna's face scrunched up, his expression showing utter repulsion.
"SHE'S A GOJŌ AND THAT'S WHEN YOU KNOW,
THAT SHE'S THE ONE AND ONLY, KIYO!!"
itadori and satoru's jazz hands and bright smile ended the little tune that they had made for kiyo, to which everyone was utterly speechless.
the two half-demons clapped meanwhile kiyo had cleared her throat, covering her mouth as she struggled to keep in her laughter.
"what the hell was that?", mai sneered.
"it was gojō satoru. that's what it was", iori answered, watching as kiyo had praised the two shamans.
"thank you for the personalization of it", kiyo giggled, squishing itadori's cheeks as he just sillily saluted.
"w-well...my gift isn't as...special, but happy birthday, kiyo-san", yoshino coughed out as it from him and his mother.
kiyo thanked the male before opening the gift, revealing handmade kusamochi, to which kiyo had commended the dark-haired boy for how well sculptured the dessert was.
kugisaki had gotten the girl a few pieces of jewelry and makeup items, to which kiyo had greatly appreciated, as she believed that one day she'd be able to finally use them.
"hold on a moment please", fushiguro stated as he hauled in a relatively huge rectangular box, setting it on the table for kiyo.
"oh wow".
"he definitely went over budget", itadori whispered across the table, to which kugisaki had nodded in agreement.
kiyo carefully unsheathed the wooden koto with thirteen strings and the design of a magnolia flower hand carved all around the edges of the instrument.
"megumi..."
"gojō-sensei mentioned that at one point you played the koto while he played the shakuhachi and that—"
fushiguro immediately stopped talking as satoru's playful smile dropped, discreet if shaking his head.
kiyo smiled, her eyes becoming glossy.
'and that suguru played the shamisen', she mentally finished.
"it's beautiful", the priestess breathlessly mumbled, her hand grazing the thin yet secure strings and the precise carving of the flowers.
"thank you, megumi".
"mama, look at our gift!!", nozomi suddenly chimed in, shoving two pieces of paper with brushstrokes tainting it.
"huh? the fuck is tha—"
"it's you, papa", nozomi answered, pointing to the stick figure that was next to three more stick figures.
"p-PAPA?!"
"so they are your biological children! it would make sense since kiyo-san's a human and sukuna's a demon and they would make HALF-DEMONS!", itadori deduced.
kugisaki threw a crumbled up wrapping paper at idatori, hitting him on the forehead.
"are you stupid?! sukuna wasn't unsealed until months ago! and for them to actually be kiyo-san's biological children, that would've meant she was pregnant almost six years ago", the girl huffed, debunking itadori's theory.
"oh...hehe...gomen..."
"it's quite alright", kiyo lightly chuckled.
"though I will be hanging this up in my room", kiyo smiled, making the two children cheer.
sukuna internally groaned, as that had meant their room, since they sleep together every night now.
"ah! and what about you, sukuna? where's the great demon king's present?", itadori mocked, to which sukuna had grinned, cracking his fingers.
"do you feel like dying today, brat?"
"it's okay brother! I'll protect you", tōdō chimed in as his protectively wrapped his arms around itadori, who was almost choking.
"and plus, my presence is the best present, isn't that right, miko?"
kiyo just smiled as fushiguro helped move the koto away so that nagi and uraume could set the table for dinner.
sukuna clicked his tongue, sneakily slipping a note into kiyo's hands without the two kitsunes noticing.
'meet me outside later'.
