Confusing title, I know but this is kinda a group bro time with Professor Pikalus, Joe, Captain Deadlock and CannibalCrab, requested by TristanDodd9 a little while ago. Sorry it took so long! Fortunately for me, this is platonic so that means IF I SEE A SHIP WAR I SWEAR TO {Enter great being here} I WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Anyways, ONWARD!

Third Person

"Invite the two of them together, he says." Pikalus grumbled. "They need to bond, he says. No, I replied. No, they hate each other, I say. But noooooooo. Nobody wants to listen to Professor Pikalus, do they?" His glare soon whipped around to the one sitting next to him. "DO THEY?"

Joe held his hands up in surrendering gesture. "I didn't think it would be that bad! I mean, they both like doing devious stuff and have shells, I thought they'd be friends!"

The pair were trying to keep their voices low as two of their "Friends" bickered endlessly. Captain Deadlock and CannibalCrab stood a little ways away but in front of them, and they were face to face, almost touching, but yelled at the top of their lungs.

"CRABS ARE SMELLY!"

"SHRIMPS ARE WIMPY!"

"THAT'S JUST A STEREOTYPE! I'LL SHOW YOU HOW STRONG I AM WHEN I SHOVE THIS AX IN YOUR CHEST!"

"BRING IT ON CAPTAIN... SHIRMY!"

In an attempt to bring Captain Deadlock and CannibalCrab closer together, Joe arranged for them to have a little get together thing. However, despite Professor Pikalus' warnings against it, he went through with it and now was regretting every second. He had underestimated how much they really hated each other.

Now Joe and Pikalus had seen hate before. Cody and KrakenKid bickered to no end, but at least they could sometimes be civil. After all, both could agree that cherry cheesecake was the best dessert ever.

CannibalCrab and Deadlock seemed to disagree on everything. Joe was 90% sure that they were both actively trying to purposely disagree with the other.

The chicken took in a deep breath before stepping between them. "Hey! Can you please stop for one second?" The two shelled males glared at him, but still shut up all the same. Joe sighed in relief. "There we go... How do you guys feel about going to a diner or something?"

Both glanced at each, waiting for the other to reply but when nobody did, Pikalus took charge and started to drag them both away. "I'll take that as a yes."

However, the night did not get better.

"PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA?" Joe groaned and started to repeatedly hit his head against the table, muttering the words 'Stupid, stupid, stupid' as he did. CannibalCrab looked at Deadlock like he was insane. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

Joe had barely gotten them all into the diner by the skins of his teeth, they didn't really like the thought of a former Tide Changer general coming in but he did, nonetheless. While the two started up another screaming match, the waitress and Professor let out a collective sigh.

"Sorry about these two. They're working out some... Species rivalry." Professor explained to the lady, who just nodded.

"It's alright. You wouldn't believe what I've seen here, these guys aren't even close to the worst experience I've had. Food service, what a terrible field. I'll come back around when it gets quiet." The only human out of the four nodded and she left without a second word.

"WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ON THE PIZZA?"

"CRAB!"

Deadlock threw his claws into the air. "WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED?"

"CRAB IS THE BEST FOOD THERE IS!" His eyes narrowed. "It's not my fault you and your kind have no taste buds!"

"This again?" Deadlock matched the hard gaze. "You and your crab people think they're so cool with those hard shells! Well guess what? THEY CLEARLY DON'T PROTECT YOU THAT WELL!"

Cannibal snapped and sprang up. Deadlock mirrored him. "YOU TAKE THAT BACK YOU LITTLE-!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

The other three all whipped around in surprise at Joe's sudden outburst. His head was lifted and stared down both Cannibal and Captain. His once friendly gaze was deadly, and for one moment, sparked with energy. Pikalus was silently thanking Poseidon that he was not on the receiving end of that gaze. The pair who were however, started to shrink down under it, sitting back down and avoided looking at him at all costs. Joe took in a long breath before letting it all out. The rage faded.

"Thank you. Sorry about that but you two really need to calm down." Both glanced up to him, and each other, before going back to the floor. Silence passed before he spoke again. "Why don't we get to know each other?" The king didn't wait for a response. "I'll start."

Joe took another breath, relaxing more and sinking into the booth. "So, obviously I rule with my brother, which I hope all of you know by now, but just in case, he's Cody. We've been ruling for... A couple years now! I like to rule but sometimes it gets exhausting but at least I split it, you know? I do have a lot of responsibilities, but at the same time, I get privileges too! Like getting all of you in here without having reservations! I... Don't remember much outside of med-school and all I've done here. Still trying to find my mom." He finished, then nodded to Pikalus.

"Oh! Uh... I had to social climb all my life, keep getting smarter in school on my own and I didn't think I'd ever get into my position now without much money, but then Poseidon came." The scientist started to smile fondly. "He took me under his wing, and basically made me one of his star pupils! I... I had an accident as you all know and now I can turn into a raging monster when I get mad." Both Captain Deadlock and CannibalCrab opened their mouths but he cut them off. "That's all you need to know. Cannibal, you go."

CannibalCrab shot an irritated look, getting a smirk from Pikalus before speaking. "Fine. I ate a crab once, got addicted, people freaked out, I got kicked out, KrakenKid decided he liked me, I climbed up until I was general, war, blah blah blah, peace, Tide Changers are now Atlanteans, you get the deal. Deadlock, you're turn."

"You barely said anything!" The pirate protested but grumbled when no one else objected. The crab just gave a similar smirk Pikalus gave him and sat back. "Fine, fine. I'll... I'll go. Once upon a time, I was in a big family. We were poor, but big. However, I was the most rowdy of the bunch and my parents decided they didn't like me anymore. They kicked me out at the age of seven and I lived on the streets."

CannibalCrab shot a surprised look, getting a chuckle out of him. "What? Did you think I was some rich and loved kid? Nope. I learned to manipulate people so I could survive within the year. I stole, bargained and bartered for food, shelter, anything I could get my hands on. Finally Poseidon noticed what I was doing and decided to help a fellow out. He saw "Potential" or something and I was suddenly in charge of a port at the age of thirteen. Years later, I got to where I was now. Wealthy, in charge of the ports, and just me!"

All were speechless, but CannibalCrab spoke up. "You were kicked out too?" Deadlock gave a sharp nod. "Huh... Maybe we have more in common than I thought..."

The waitress came back around. "All of you ready?"

Joe grinned happily. His plan had worked. All it took was sharing life stories. "Yeah, we'll have a large pizza."

"What kind?"

"Crab!"

"Pineapple!"

"Olives!"

At that moment, Pikalus, Deadlock and Cannibal all glared at each other. Joe face palmed. Of course, some things would stay the same.

Yayyyyy, bro time and backstories! AH, I LOVE DOING THIS SORTA THING!

I remember Deadlock saying how he didn't like CannibalCrab because of his Crab-ness and I figured Cannibal would act the same towards him, sooooo, TA DA! A rivalry that could match KrakenKid and Cody's!

I made the backstories based on their personalities and made up something that would shape who they are today, as shown in Captain Deadlock having to fend for himself and him being a pirate.
