Chapter 4
I don't know how you guys are going to react to this but I am going to lazily change the beginning plot of the story of Tempest being born and being in self-training for the time since Galbatorix had killed many dragons and so sh would be Many years older than Eragon, Saphira, and even Arya. Tell me if you agree or disagree with this lazy change.
I missed the ocean as much as I was near water he ocean and sea calmed my body and soul to no end and here I could fight better, control the water and my powers better, and look around to see if the dragon from my past or his order was around so I could kill them. I flew at my top speed making a couple satisfactory booms in my wake and I finally saw the ocean in the distance, and just smelling the water made my muscles relax a little and it heal and rejuvenated hem making me feel stronger, faster, and better than I had ever felt anywhere else but the salty water of my home.
I plunged into the water and felt replenished and free once again, and I decided to go for a swim near the shores since I wasn't afraid of the people or dragons that wouldn't be able to see me whether by magic or plain sight. I swam along the shore for a while and then I smelled blood, and I sank further into the water letting the water flood my lungs and give me the strange sensation of breathing the water like air. I peered under the surface and slowly made my way to the docks and I smelled a person similar to Eragon's scent, and it took me three hours to detour to the docs but as I saw it a barge passed my side and I heard excited yelling and screaming of a shore behind me. I looked at the barge and then the shore and shot to the shore where I smelled the Eragon's brethren, and I shot back to the ship and smelled the man aboard. I decided to follow thinking that if Eragon and this person were to meet the one on the ship would get past his hatred and pain for something that happened in the past between them. I came to the stern and put a claw along the side shearing off barnacles to fit my paw, and I searched the crew's minds until I found what I wanted, he felt pain, betrayal, hurt, unlimited and unrelenting anger for losing someone dear to him other than Eragon. I looked into this further and saw a female human and him eating together then him getting on a knee and producing a circular object from his pocket I saw as a ring, and I had enough. I looked into the memories for Eragon and saw that he cared for him still but wanted answers to why he left his uncle unprotected and unburied in the burned shed. I shook my head and decided to check on him again in a little while after I saw where he planned on going, and then I smelled the stench of blood. Blood of men killed by his hand, and blood of a being older than me and more complex than that of the Elves needs, likes, and actions.
I sank back into the water wanting answers as well and I shot ahead of them and around the land at full speed occasionally breaking the surface to smell the rider and the dragon, of which I still despised the idea of yet, but I smelled the female dragon first and I changed course from the water as it got slightly colder and I hopped into the lake and followed the scent to an area of mountains. It smelled of death, blood, pain, and brokenness, and I knew why. My mother taught me of the war between two races, of which she did not say, but for good reason because I still had a slight anger about it towards the race, but I stayed in the lake until I heard a roar and I shot into the air lightening my scales to the color of the sky as best as I could and I saw the blue female dragon diving at a bigger gold male dragon and she gave him a small scratch and he gave her a big gash saying something rather harsh and bad about her habits and wants, and about being blind to what was untrue and unneeded. I growled making the lake swell and ripple whirling from my anger but I had to calm down due to the boats of Elves on the top of the water getting pulled to the center by the current.
When I was calm enough I saw that the blue dragon had stayed and the gold one was no where to be seen, he breaks her heart, and then leaves her like that as she tells him her heart and soul only for him to pass it by as if nothing and break her heart and instincts of purpose. I watched as a small figure floated up one of the sides of the mountain and then climbed further switching between flying and climbing until the top where he disappeared over the edge and I shot out of the water careful to make my body translucent and I shot towards the mountain with a few arrows passing by me and I had to hit a couple away due to the Elves' deadly accuracy. I smelled the rider Eragon and I clamped myself to the side of the vertical edges and peered over the edge carefully keeping in mind that I might be detected, slip off the mountain or into view, or accidentally blow fire, water, or ice into the air in-front of me. I clamped the sides of the mountain harder as I saw many smashed eggs from magic and I figured it out, the Elves and Dragons had been in a war that had lasted centuries, if millennia, but why they were both powerful and could've helped each-other from the dawn of figuring out of each-other's existence. I shook it off and listened to the boy talk to the dragon in a calm manner and her wing lifted up to reveal a large gash deep in her side, and I slightly calmed as the boy spoke to her while healing her wound and I knew that this pair would be the ones to destroy the evil of this land, and I would be able to kill the rider and his dragon that killed the last of my family alongside them.
I learned that her name was Saphira like a dragon of old from brushing their memories and I saw the elf that had helped Saphira as she was still an egg and I recognized it as the elf I helped during the wolf attack in the woods. I detached and flew out of their sight to the northern waters, where I entered the ocean and slowly made my way to Eragon's brethren and I swam and slept for weeks or months, couldn't tell anymore as I searched using scent. I could eat fish now that I have eaten from the land and its animals, of which I still preferred over fish and sea mammals.
I was swimming and I just saw the outline of a ship and I felt the whirling waters of a whirlpool, and I smelled three more ships behind them that should not be following them, and they smelled of the same evil that I witnessed and smelled in the waters of my first home. I growled making the whirlpool swim faster in my rage, but I redirected the anger at the ships, forming ice on the bottom of their hulls and making them ten times slower than they were and as I did this I took the rage of the whirlpools current and slowed it as I made the rage into the ice on the ships and I shot after the ship with Eragons brethren on it and slowly put my head along it's back, but since I was so fair I was bigger then the bottom of the hull and wider than the back to fully put my head on, but I managed as I pushed them clear of the whirlpool slowly going foward until they were at my lazy swimming speed. I saw a dark shape on the top and a thump as he saw my eyes, and I chuckled as I felt the wood thrum with him falling onto it and then there was a call and several more heads joined the back. I backed from the ship I helped and faced the evil behind them, and I put a shield around the good ship for I feared of what my anger would do to the waters and endanger them further. I slowly rose out of the water letting my power and beauty shimmer into view and I rose to the middle of the whirlpool and I roared my loudest creating a shock-wave that ripped apart the sails and destroyed the oars of the sides just coming out and I searched the ships for any good before I destroyed them but felt none, and I raored again as I un-leashed my anger.
The waves of the ocean rose as the whirlpool strengthened and grew till it came to be my size and just as powerful, and the seas rose and fell as constant currents and my vision turned silver as the water became bubbling and black of poison and heat eating through the bottom of the ships as they slowly made their way to the trap of death, and I raged on them letting the waters do my will until the last scream gave way and then I saw something fly overhead me and I smiled. Magic arrows as a last resort, wow, I clenched my claws and the water rose to form a giant wall that melted through the metal and burned through the wood and feathering of the arrows as it sucked up the magic and sent it to me as new power, and my vision turned green and blue as I calmed myself and the ocean and let the waters return to their natural color and stature as well as freeing all the living things and the boat of Eragon's brethren from my grasp and I felt the ocean and air go still and then it went back to normal except for the boat and the people that watched what I did with horror and awe, and I folded my wings and shot back into the ocean. Then I went to the coral reef and asked the animals of the oceans if any where hurt of killed in my spectacle and when they went about fine not saying of doing anything out of the ordinary as the boat went further into the distance. I settled on the ocean floor and slept to regain the little amount of power that I had expended.
Thanks for reading and I'll have another chapter out soon, sorry for the wait but I wasn't up/in the setting for writing till now, so enjoy, and sorry that it may be a little short.
