Auden has a sort of muted curiosity. He's drawn towards the unknown and, of course, wants to unravel its mysteries. However, he isn't outwardly expressing of his curiosity. He won't voice his questions if he thinks that it will offend anyone or cause bother to them. He cares a lot of about others and wants to make those he cares about happy, but he always will put his personal pleasure first. Well, most of the time he'll put himself first. No, he isn't selfish, simply focused on living the life he wants to live and not being controlled by others.

Auden loves a good adventure, something that will get his blood pumping and the gears of his mind working. He won't seek it down in every corner at every second of everyday, but he will do it when he doesn't have anything else to occupy his time.

Now, despite having quiet, steady flame of curiosity, Auden can be quite talkative. He always wants to know more about others for reasons that he can't entirely explain, so he generally is trying to keep up conversation to get to know them. Because of this, some of the things he says can be a bit random, but it's simply him trying to get to know someone.

Auden can be clumsy and disorganised, even if he doesn't appear that way. Everyone at first believes he has his life and goals in order, but he's quite a jumble of everything put together. Half of the time, he has trouble sorting through his own emotions that seem to get caught up in his music. But, this only seems to make him playful and light-hearted, someone who is only deep with a few, selected amount of people.

But, of course, not everything about him is all positive. Auden has his weak spots, especially when it comes to being a member of a wealthy family. When it comes to money and having things, he can be selfish, no matter how much he tries not to be. It isn't obvious when you first meet him, but, as you get to know him, it could slowly become apparent. Still, he prizes his own desires over money, which meant that his selfish habits never got out of hand.

- music.

- lions. no one was ever sure why, but ever since he was young, auden had taken a liking towards the creature.

- swords. he doesn't care much for using them, though he would if he needed to. more so, he appreciates the art of them.

- forests/woods. auden never had a problem with where he'd grown up and had actually grown up loving the sight of the forests.

- blueberries. ice. lakes. nature. snow boots. history. different languages. mythology. marshmallows. the cold. maps. traveling. archery.

[ DISLIKES ]

- silence.

- social hierarchy. auden doesn't care much for the idea of social hierarchy, even if there isn't much that can be done to prevent it. he isn't outright about his disliking, especially since he happens to be a member of the upperclass.

- sweets. occasionally, he might get a sweet tooth, but it's a very rare occasion.

- fire. auden enjoys the idea of fire and looking at it, but he doesn't care much for the excessive warmth that can come from it. if he doesn't need it, he won't have a fireplace lit.

- crows. crows have always given auden a bad feeling, and he's the sort that listens to his gut. if he sees a crow, catch him taking the opposite path.

- jackets. it's an odd dislike, but auden had never been a fan of layering. when he was a child, he would run around in the freezing cold without a jacket on, despite his mother yelling at him.

[ BACKSTORY ]

Even though Auden came from a wealthy family, he didn't want to stay on the expected path. Yes, it sounds cliche, but it turned out to be far from a success. Auden had wanted to go into music, so that was where he allowed his heart to lead him. The boy started out as someone who would go into bars every now and then and play music for people, never having one stationary place. He moved around a lot in attempts to make more money from the career, attempting to live without his parents for naive, stubborn reasons despite their support. In the end, before the Selection, he was finally hired as a bard for another wealthy family after refusing several offers while traveling.

Other than the story of his career, his life hasn't seemed much out of the ordinary. Some odd things have been seen by him on travels, but, of course, odd was yet to truly come.

[ FAMILY ]

Auden and his mother had a close relationship before he left for music. While his father worked, she stayed home and taught him and his younger siblings.

Auden and his father had always had a mutual respect for each other, but never a particularly strong bond. His mother had simply been around more, so he got to spend more time with her.

[ THOUGHTS ON SELECTION ]

Auden doesn't know what to think about the Selection. He doesn't want to get his hopes up on it. However, he's excited about the idea of it because of how few people out of the country are chosen to participate. He also hopes to break away from his real life for a moment so that he can regroup before continuing on with what he wants to do in the future.

My favourite rule is the tagging rule because that's annoying as hell when people repeatedly tag 😂 but, I agree with every other one, especially the not whining and hating if your character is eliminated. I know the pain of eliminating people (low-key struggling at the moment with that)
