"You're... you're a vampire." Evelyn's words hung softly in the winter air, and Jasper nodded slowly.

"I'm a monster." Jasper's voice cracked, and Evelyn frowned as she tugged Jasper to where she was sitting, which was in the bed of Jasper's new truck.

"You are no monster Jasper Hale. You are no more of a monster than I am." Evelyn bit out, and Jasper let out a sigh as he pressed Evelyn closer to him. She was so soft, so good, so pure- that the vampire didn't know what to do with himself.

"There's a chance I could hurt you." Jasper instead said, and Evelyn shrugged her shoulders- moving her hand so it rested against Jasper's cheek.

"There's a chance you could hurt me if you were a human Jazz, I'm not afraid of you." Evelyn promised, thumb rubbing softly as she spoke- and Jasper shook his head at her words.

"You should be."

Evelyn sat firm against Jasper's side, her eyes trained on the sky. The moon had already set, and the sky was painted with soft diffused colors ranging from pink to blue.

"What time of day is it?" Evelyn wondered, and Jasper furrowed his brow as he turned to face the way Evelyn was facing. Jasper's eyes darted around, a small smile causing the corners of his lips to quirk up.

"It's twilight."

Evelyn nodded at Jasper's words, a small hum causing her chest to move slightly.

"Did you know there are two twilights in a day? One is right before sunrise, and there is one right after the sun has set. A funny thing isn't it? That we have a period of time that separates both day and night from each other?" Evelyn's words seemed to hang heavy in the air once more, and Evelyn sighed softly before she continued. "I like you Jasper Hale, or Jasper Whitlock- whichever you prefer to go by. I have liked you since you gave me that scrunchie in the cafeteria, and I will continue to like you as long as you will let me."

"Please don't stop." Jasper firmly said, and Evelyn let her eyes drift to Jasper's- who smiled shyly when Evelyn focused completely on him.

"It's a two way road Jazz, what is it going to be?"

The sky continued to lighten as Jasper and Evelyn's lips interlocked, the sun beginning to rise- another twilight had gone, but the new day was just beginning.
