Prompt challenge: To make a logo for a business based on Greek gods.

Topic Given: Dionysus' Distillery

Explaination:

Dionysus is mainly known as the god of alcohol and pleasure. He is also a Greek god of Nature. The logo here has been constructed by fusing various of iconic Dionysus symbols such as the Kantharos which is the wine/ceremonial cup, the thyrsus which is the staff of Dionysus and finally the wreath. The line art in the logo is also rather rough to give it a kind-of rustic illustration look.

Kantharos: The kantharos is a cup associated with Dionysus and often symbolises the wine cup. It was also said to be used for ceremonies in ancient times. It had deer-horn shaped handles, which although looks symmetrical at a glance, it is not.

Thyrsus: It is said to be the staff of Dionysus. It represents prosperity, fertility and hedonism.

The Ivy wreath: As the god of wine and orchards, the ivy wreath is depicted to be worn by Dionysus in mythological interpretations.

My thoughts:

I had lots of fun making this and it was a good practise for logo-making. It was also mildly infuriating that the cup was slightly off in its symmetry, I had to resist temptation to correct it while drawing sorry If I also peeved you with that lol.

Also kudos to procrastinating the night before exams doing this🌚🌚🌚
