Rena
Happy Tempted Tuesday, folks!
Wasn't that sweet? Tiff coming out of her little comfort zone and being nice.
What do you think about Tiff now?
What do you think Jess and Jana's baby is going to be?
How do you think Rena and Carmon are dealing with all of this?
Well, we are back with another chapter for Screw Me Over and Rena's got a few things to get off her chest. Starting with bacon. Lol
Anyway, please see the triggers that are in the summary of this book!
Anyway, you may continue! 💜🤫

So about a few days after Jess' dress shopping fiasco, Raina wanted a tea party and I happily granted her just that. Surprisingly, none of her school friends were invited. She invited Carmon and someone else, but she wouldn't tell me.
Oh, I forgot. She didn't invite them. Jasmine did.
She said she didn't know who else was coming because of that very reason, but Raina says that Jasmine has great taste in picking guests for tea parties. In my mind, I figured it would probably be another imaginary friend of hers or one of Carmon's friends. She said I would really like this specific guest, but I'm not too fond of Carmon's friends. Plus, my imaginary friends decided to move out of my brain about nine years ago. Don't judge me.
I wondered why Carmon was invited. Maybe Raina wanted to spend some more time with her mom. She was smart to invite the lustful queen. After her little fit about me taking her daughter on a picnic, she should see what I see every day. Maybe she won't be so pissed off at me if she realized how well Raina's grown. She's actually staying in a child's place and Carmon should at least be grateful for that.
Anyway, it's the weekend and Raina just woke me up to get ready for this unexpected fancy tea party. "AUNTIE REEEEEEEEENAAAAAAA, wakey wakey! Eggs and bakey! It's tea party day! Get dressed!"
As she yelled excitingly, she shook me vigorously. How in the world did she get so much strength to move me like that? How did she even get past her own mother?! How did she get in my room? My door was locked!
"Come on, Auntie Rena! You have to look pretty! This is not pretty! You smell like fart! Come oooooonnnnnnuuuuuuhhhhh!" she whined as she shook me even harder making my thick short hair fly all over the place. This happy-go-lucky child was a little too happy-go-lucky. Who gave this child coffee again?
Sitting up from my large pillows that bigger than my own bed, I attempted to run my fingers through my hair. Then I realized that this needed water....and shea butter, peppermint oil, coconut oil, argan oil, some more moisturizer, and edge control for the baby hairs. That's all just to get my fingers through my hair. My hair is like a monster when dry. Scary and disobedient.
Sighing at the thought of this upcoming tea party, I check the time with a quick glance. 10:29 in the morning? And everyone's already up before I am? That's strange.
When it came to tea parties, it was just Raina and I. Now, more people were being added to the mix. I couldn't tell her that this was just our thing but if this is what she wanted and if her mother was willing to come, let the party begin.
Removing my covers, I hop off my twin-sized bed and looked through my clothes in the closet. Same old clothes that I've worn for the past two semesters of college still hanging up in the closet. There wasn't much to my wardrobe and it made me shudder because I was so simple. All I wore were jeans and a t-shirt. I didn't find anything impressive enough to dress all the way up for. Not much was going on in my life like the other ladies.
And Raina wanted me to dress nice for this tea party? Maybe some cute little jean capris and-
No, Rena. Put on a cute little sundress and sandals at least. You know how Tiff will be if she sees you walk out of this house in any jeans and t-shirts with tennis shoes again. She will scold you to death.
Suddenly, the fashion guru of 421 popped up in my head and smiled at the thought. She was too busy making our bridesmaid dresses to even worry about what kind of outfit I was going to wear to this tea party. She's been focused on those that she's barely been out of her room. Even her boyfriend has helped her with them by providing some funds for them.
I tell ya. Bryce has really stepped up and has proven to Tiff that he really wants her. They were a nice pair and I'm glad she finally gave him another chance. I can only hope that I have the same one day.
Soon after I pulled the multicolored sundress out from the closet, the smell of bacon sped past my nose and I drooled a bit. I automatically knew who was cooking bacon and she knew I loved her famous bacon! Jess cooked the bacon so well and she knew exactly how I liked it.
Jess and Jana had connected more after this whole pregnancy thing and it put another smile on my face. I definitely didn't agree with how my cousin went about getting pregnant. In fact, when Leo called me out of the blue, I demanded for him to stay away from them.
That sounds pretty harsh because he helped make the baby, but hear me out. Anyone who knows Leo knows that he likes to cause drama somehow and make everyone believe that he's the victim. He's always acted like we didn't know he was onto Jess and Jana's relationship. He'd do anything to ruin it because he wants Jess. Why? Because he knows she won't take shit from him. He likes the chase.
Not to mention, he wanted nothing to do with the child anyhow. So, I told him there was no reason for him to come around Jess or the child. No contact, no drama. Right? Jess' number changed and she also agreed with my proposal. So, no more Leo from here on out.
Anyway, after I dressed up into my multicolored sundress, I looked into the mirror to see it wrap around my big body. Feeling a bit self-conscious, my eyes moved away from the mirror quickly and looked for some nice sandals. Instantly, the shoe queen of the apartment came through my mind.
I felt a bit bad for Carmon because she's been walking around the house looking so down since her little issue with Trent.
Instead of her naked body being under a purple silk robe, she wears a t-shirt and shorts. Her hair has been all over the place, she doesn't dress up in her cute little dresses for work anymore, and she doesn't wear her expensive perfume that Trent bought her for Christmas. She wears A Thousand Wishes from Bath and Body Works. I don't know if she even knows she's allergic to it, but she is. Her whole face blew up once she put it on when we were teens.
Although it was sad he wouldn't participate in the Pride festivities coming in October, at least he wasn't a homophobe and she should be grateful for that in my opinion. That's something Carmon needed to know. He had to respect his father's principles that he set for the company.
Trent didn't mind being around people like Jana and Jess. In fact, he really liked hanging out with Jana when Jess needed a break from her. He cared for all of us and supported anyone who was willing to love whomever they fell for. He just couldn't let his dad down and I understood that.
But the rest of us understanding that wasn't the main concern. It was all about Carmon's opinion to him because he didn't like how her personality has been. It has been way off since then, especially at work. She wore actual pencil skirts and button-up shirts that clasped all the way up to her neck. That was nothing like Carmon at all. Maybe that's why Raina invited her to the tea party.
Anyway, once I got my shoes on, I walked out of my room just to see my cousin and her lover dancing in the kitchen to Shakira. They were laughing as Jess tried shaking her hips to the music as Jana chanted Wyclef Jean's bridge of the song.
'Baila en la calle', Jana! Not 'bile in the call hey'! We've really got to work on her Spanish.
"Okay, I know they said that our hips don't lie...but mine are lying to me right now. They can't shake like they used to," Jess laughed as Jana wrapped her arms around Jess' pregnant body and feeding her some bacon.
Smiling at her sweet gesture to her fiancée, I kept staring at the delicious hickory-smoked food as it was being placed in between Jess' lips. Ugh, why can't I eat anything right now? I'm hungry as hell.
Soon, their loving moments got to me and took over my thoughts of food. Don't get me wrong, I was happy for the both of them. It was just that I've wished for something like that for my entire life basically. Their love just seemed so pure even though it's further from that. I wanted to be with someone who would love me for me and wanted someone I could be happy with too. They've been through the deepest pits of hell and back. Somehow, they still love each other wholeheartedly. That's what I wanted for myself. Everyone was all in love besides me.
Okay, hoping and wishing for love is over. I want the bacon now.
"Hey, where's my bacon?" I asked as I sat at the kitchen island and watched the two lovebirds laugh off whatever they were just laughing at. It better not be my bacon comment. I want some bacon.
As their eyes connected, they just continued to get lost in their own little world. By the smiles on both of their faces, they were enjoying whatever little world they were in. I wanted to be in the land of crispy bacon.
Reaching over to grab a piece, a hard slap came across my hand and that let me know that they were paying attention. You can tell who slapped me on the hand just by how hard the slap was. Damn lovebirds.
"Your bacon is at the store if you want it so bad. This is my cupcake's bacon. No touchy," Jana spoke as she stole a piece of the turkey bacon sitting on the other side of the counter. What the hell?
Mimicking a throw up face, Jess added with "And Demi doesn't play about her bacon."
"Wait, who? Demi, you say? How do you know it's going to be a girl?" I asked as Jana looked at her confused as well.
"Yeah, what if it's Damien who doesn't play about his bacon?" Jana asked as she got closer to Jess giving her that lip-biting smirk Jess loves so much.
"I just know that it's a girl. I'm good at these things. How'd you think I knew that Raina wasn't going to be a Heath Jr.? Babies and I speak the same language, especially Baby Demi. Got it?" Jess said as she rubbed her tummy. Well, she wasn't wrong.
She already knew that my brother was going to be a boy after I prayed and pleaded for a little sister. Jess debunked all of that and boom. Now, I have a little nine-year-old pest of a brother. The fact that my mom had him in the same zodiac timeline as me still amazes me. Now she's stuck with two Aries kids.
Anyway, Jess has been right about all of these gender reveals we've been to. At the same time, it was all a 50/50 chance.
"If it's a boy, Damien would be the prefect name. That would warn everyone that the devil child is coming around them," Tiff laughed as she finally came out from her room with different types of blue cloths in her hand.
The warning look shaped my face once she looked at me and her face fell. She knew better.
"Oh come on, Rena. I was just playing. I wouldn't be me if I couldn't pick on the cootie lickers here," Tiff reassured as she placed the multiple types of material on the island counter.
"Keep on, Tiff, and you'll wish that you didn't have a cootie. Your little taco down there will be fed to the sharks if you try me again. Got it?" Jess said as she held up her fists and kissed them both, signaling that she was going to knock Tiff the hell out playfully.
It was nice to see that her and Jess were getting along, but what I saw coming from Carmon's room was something I didn't think I needed to see. While they were having their side conversation, in walked an unenthusiastic Carmon walking hand-in-hand with Raina and her imaginary friend.
I didn't think she'd be so effected by this small argument between her and Trent. They didn't break up or anything so, why was she so upset?
She grabbed her keys from the island walked towards the door in her dark green sundress while Raina smiled at me just to say "Let's go, Auntie Rena! I'm so excited!"

When we reached the tea shop, I was completely astounded by the décor. I thought we were just going to do tea in the park like usual. Being in this fancy tea shop was a different environment for me, but it was beautiful. All the glass tea sets and different types of teas sat around the lobby with house plants and decorated table sets.
"Mommy picked out this place. She says it's a really great place to have tea parties. Jasmine likes this place too," Raina said as she dragged me to a private room filled with pink balloons and cloth everywhere. Everything was basically pink.
We all sat down at the round pink couch and looked at the menus on the table. Once the waitress came to our table, we ordered our teas and other small foods. As much as I was ready to enjoy my tea and cookies, my mind was stuck on Carmon's situation and mood. She just wasn't up to par and Raina noticed it.
Raina was about to call her out until I thought of a better idea. "Raina, I spy with my little eye a big pile of beautiful Barbie dolls in that corner over there. Why don't you and Jasmine go play over there in that corner?"
Raina smiled at the idea and ran away to play with her imaginary best friend in that corner happily. Turning back to Carmon, I opened my lips to say something until-
"I don't want to keep talking about this Rena. Okay?" Carmon blurted and shook her little manicured finger in my face. I gave her the craziest look, wondering who the hell she was shaking her finger at.
I was just checking on her, but this turned into a whole other battle. This Tiffany attitude had to go. And she says she's nothing like her sister. Every time she gets like this, she's just like her obnoxious sister.
Smacking her hand out of my face and grabbing her wrist in anger, I came out with "Bitch, don't try me. Like I did Tiff, I will slap you so hard that you'll be seeing the fiery pits of hell. NOW, as I was about to say before I was so rudely interrupted, you can't continue to mope about this decision that's out of Trent's control. That's his family and I'm pretty sure that he would participate if he could. He just can't. He still loves you. Just because he didn't go through with your idea doesn't mean he loves you any less. Now, interrupt me again and you'll be tasting this floor like your sister. Understand?"
Her eyes widened at me after everything I had said and I meant ever word that came from my lips. I was so tired of being seen as the weak bitch around the house just because of my kind nature. There was a bitch deep down in me and she decided to show the hell up. Finally.
I was also tired of her crying and whining over someone who doesn't want her. Then ruin something good with someone who actually gives a shit about her.
"Rena, that's not the reason I'm feeling this way-"
"Then why the hell else would you be like this, Carmon?"
"BECAUSE HEATH'S BEEN RELEASED FROM JAIL, RENA!" Carmon yelled as I quickly looked over at Raina playing with the dolls still. Had to make sure that she didn't hear a word her mother said.
I was just in a state of shock. Those were words I never thought would come out from Carmon's or anyone's lips. I never wanted to hear those words. Heath was supposed to be put away for a long while. It had only been a little less than a year and he's already out?! What the hell was going on?
"He and his family are coming for everything Trent has. I don't know how else to stop him. He's sent death threats to me, Raina, and Trent. Rena, what else am I supposed to do?!" Carmon freaked as her face fell into her painted hands and she sobbed. This can't be true.
How? How could he be out again? I really thought our job was done here. I thought I helped but I guess I didn't. Now, we're all in danger. How in the world did she know this was going on?
"Wait, how do you know all of this?" I asked looking at her with focus.
"Brittany told me. He's been talking to her and-"
That's all I needed to know. All four of us knew that bitch was a whole snitch. She would do anything for any man with a ton of money and a large penis. Even rat out her own best friend. Carmon didn't even see it that way. Brittany was in love with every man that Carmon's been with. Tiff even scooped out evidence of her having her eyes on Trent. Not on my watch.
Feeling my blood boil, I snatched Carmon's phone away from her and quickly deleted Brittany's and anyone else's number she didn't need in there. Her location was also cut off on her phone. One thing that Carmon couldn't do, when it came to numbers, was remember phone numbers. She barely knew ours.
"Rena, what the-"
"Listen to me, Carmon. You cannot talk to her anymore. Don't ask me why and don't fucking argue with me. This is for your own safety. Tiff and I are going to get you a whole new phone with a new number. Just know that she can't speak to or be around us any longer. Keep talking to her and you'll get killed. So will Raina. Just trust me. Please," I said holding her hand in one of mine as I put her other phone in my pocket.
Worry spread across her face as she panted nervously and said "Rena, if my fingers were never in your vagina and if you weren't Raina's godmother, I wouldn't trust you with my left big toenail. Fine, I trust you."
Smiling at her words, my heart rested and hoped that she would stick to her word. Of course, she's been known to not keep her word. However, this was very important and everyone else had to know what was going on. We all had to keep our eyes out and watch our back. Someone was trying to rat us out.
After giving her a big hug, my eyes landed on something I never thought would even walk in here. My eyes widened at the tall caramel man with his daughter in his hand as Raina came out and said excitingly "Oh, Auntie Rena! Look who's here! Uncle B and Tee are here! Jasmine tells me he is our other guest!"
No shit. Really, Raina?! Of all people?!
