~ Cosmic Justice and Hating Everything ~

The next day, Olivia walked into school, feeling as if everyone were watching her. She watched as Audrey walked over to her. "Hey." Audrey noticed the way people were looking at her. "Been there. It sucks." She wrapped her arm around Olivia, pulling her into a hug.

"Jake and I had promised to keep that night a secret." Olivia looked down at her hands. "I was cheating on my boyfriend, and now everyone knows."

"But, there is a little bit of cosmic justice at play here." Audrey smirked at her. Olivia chucked. "It doesn't destroy us, but makes us stronger." The two started walking down the hall.

She felt a hand pull her away, and saw Jake smirking down at her. "Babe, did you see our video?" He smiled. "We're viral."

"How could you film us?" Olivia snapped at him. "You promised that no one would find out."

"I didn't film it." Jake shook his head. "Okay, I knew that Tyler was filming us, but he said he wouldn't show anyone the video. He thought it would be funny, and showed it to me. I thought he had deleted it."

"Tyler?" Olivia scoffed. "You're once again blaming Tyler. I know that he's your way out. You always blame him."

"I promise that I didn't film us." Jake was desperate. "I keep my promises. You know that."

"Well, I'm not sure I do." Jake cocked his head to the side in confusion. "I promise to never take advantage of you." Olivia mimicked him. "Yet, what were you doing that night?"

"Alright, that wasn't one of my finest moments, but everything worked out fine." He wrapped his arms around her waist. "Because of that night, we are together."

"Jake, if our relationship started off from drunken sex, of you taking advantage of me, and me cheating on Matt, then I can't even imagine what else will happen between us."

"What are you saying?" His face went soft.

"I'm saying that I think we should stop seeing each other." Olivia spoke.

His hands went to hold her. "Olivia, please, no." Jake pleaded to her. "You're the only good thing I have going for me right now. I think I'm falling in love with you."

"You're just saying that for sex." Olivia scoffed as she took her hands out of his. "It was all just for sex. Everything."

"No." Jake shook his head. "Ollie, you mean the world to me." Jake cupped her cheeks.

"I could have believed that a week ago, but not anymore." Olivia sighed. "I'm sorry."

She spotted Brooke, and walked over to her. "Honey, I'm so sorry." Brooke spoke softly as she pulled Olivia into a hug. "And Jake is not the one I would want to be fucking on video."

"I didn't even know he was filming us." Olivia sighed. "I don't know how this all happened." Olivia's phone buzzed and she looked down at it. 'I wanted it to be your sister, but you'll do.' It was from an unknown number. What the hell had Emma been doing?

"What the hell, man?!"

Olivia looked up and saw Matt rushing over to Jake. He pushed him against the lockers. "What?" Jake looked at him with innocent eyes.

"You little shit." Matt punched Jake in the face, and Jake chuckled.

"You're just pissed off because she kept on fucking me." Jake smiled widely. "Well, now we all know who's better."

"Jake, you're-" Matt stopped talking as his eyes landed on Olivia and Brooke. "There she is." Matt smirked, walking away from Jake a little bit. "The whore herself."

"Matt, I-"

"Shut up, please." Matt snapped at her. "You know, I actually shouldn't be mad, because I was fucking your friend, Brooke, over there." Olivia's eyes drifted over to Brooke, who's eyes were wide. "You had no idea, didn't you." Matt laughed and walked away.

Jake's eyes were filled with pain as Olivia had one tear running down her cheek. "You knew."

"Olivia, please, I'm sorry." Jake pleaded.

Olivia looked over at Brooke, and shook her head. "Olivia, wait." Olivia heard Brooke call after her as she walked towards her first class of the day.

*

Olivia sighed as she sat down in her seat in Branson's class. She knew Jake would be in the seat next to her. "Are you kidding me?" She heard on the other side of her. She saw Brooke glaring at a girl who was sitting in Riley's seat. Olivia looked down at her pen, trying to ignore Brooke.

"You got a problem?" The girl scoffed.

"I do." Brooke continued to glare at her. "That's Riley's seat." The girl still didn't move. "Forever." The girl sighed before getting up and moving seats.

"Babe, can we please-"

"Don't call me babe." Olivia snapped at Jake.

Noah looked over at her and sighed. "Again, can I please tell you how sorry I am about this. I had no idea that it would mutate like some zombie sex virus." Noah's eyes widened. "That came out horribly wrong."

"It's fine, Noah." Olivia smiled at him. "I know you didn't mean to do it. It was a mistake. Like that night."

"Okay, um-" Branson stated as he stood up. "We are still reeling from Riley's death, but we do have learning to do. We will resume our scene work next week. Let's go back to Hawthorne."

Branson started writing, 'The Scarlet Letter' on the board, and Olivia groaned. "Not this again." Noah let out a snort as he heard her.

"Mr. Branson, really?" Jake asked him. "With all the cyber bullying, murder gifs, and mayhem going around? Who cares?"

"Actually, Jake, it's very relevant." Branson answered him.

Everyone's phones started going off as a gif appeared on them. It was from the video. Olivia sighed as she sat down. "See Hester having an illegitimate child, led to her being outed and, basically, cyber bullied, Puritan style."

"It just takes nine months instead of nine seconds." Kieran stated from the back of the room.

"Or just a few minutes, right Jake?" A boy chuckled, and Jake's face grew red with fury. He stood up, turning to the boy.

"Jake, stop." Olivia spoke as she stood up.

"Jake, back off." Branson stated.

Jake sighed before sitting down. "Just protecting my girl's honor, Mr. B." Jake stated. Olivia scoffed and sat down.

"Olivia, are you alright?" Branson asked her.

"No." Olivia sighed. "But, I know that we are all still dealing with the deaths of our friends, so I want to remind everyone about the candle light vigil downtown tonight at seven." She sat down and played with her fingers.

*

Olivia sighed as she placed four flowers on the monument for the deceased. One for Nina, Tyler, Riley, and Rachel. Even though she didn't know Rachel very much, she knew how much she meant to Audrey. She started to get up, and turned around. She was startled by someone standing right in front of her. "Hey, I'm sorry." She recognized Jake's voice. "I didn't mean to scare you. Emma wanted me to pass these out." He said holding candles. "Here." He handed one to her.

"Thanks." She wiped some of the tears from her cheeks. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't find out until weeks after we started hooking up, and I didn't want to hurt you." Jake explained to her.

"Jake, I-"

"I really care about you, Olivia," Jake cut her off, "and if you don't want us to be together, then that's fine with me."

"Come on, Olivia." She heard Emma behind them. "It's time." Olivia nodded before walking away from Jake.

Olivia and Emma walked onto the stage, and Emma began talking. "Riley was six when her family moved to Lakewood. She was super tiny, and completely silent." Emma chuckled a bit as she spoke. "For the first couple days in our class, I was convinced that she didn't speak English. So, one day, I started speaking to her very loudly, thinking in my six year old brain that, maybe, it would help. And this one day, she turned to me, and she said-" Emma was cut off by her phone beeping. She sighed before looking up. "She- uh- she- sorry. She- uh- she turned to me- and she- uh- she said." She stuttered out. "Sorry." Emma sighed before moving back.

Olivia gave her a solemn look before stepping up to the mic. "I think what my sister meant to say was that Riley got over her shyness, and she became the person that we all know and love." Olivia sighed. "She was the kindest person I ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I have no idea how someone could kill her. Thank you."

After this, the three girls had started to light all the candles.

*

"I hate everything." Olivia groaned as she walked into Noah's work. He had told her to come because the place was closed for the day.

"I feel that, on a personal level." Olivia saw Noah on the couch. He patted the seat and she sat next to him.

"Why are people such assholes?" Olivia sighed as Noah pulled her into a hug.

"Not everyone." Noah rubbed her back as he spoke. "Just Brooke and Jake."

"It's not Jake's fault." Olivia shook her head. "He tried telling me that he didn't film the video, and part of me believed him."

"And the other part?"

"I guess it was just looking for an excuse." Olivia took Noah's hand in hers. "When shit happens to me, I tend to push away people. Mostly, the people that this shit involves, which would be Jake, Tyler, and Nina. Well, two are dead."

"You are perfect." Noah smiled as he moved a strand of hair out of Olivia's face. "Whoever would cheat on you is an idiot. You are the most amazing person that I've ever met."

"Noah, I'm a bitch. Everyone hates me. I'm not even a nice person." Olivia shook her head. "I'm glad that you think that I deserve something, but I sure as hell don't. Why can't the killer just come after me? He'd be doing us all a favor."

"Do you know I would feel if that happened?" Noah cupped her cheeks with his hands. "I wouldn't be able to function. Olivia, I care so deeply for you. I need you in my life." Noah smiled shyly. "The funny is that a month ago, you didn't even know who I was, and I don't blame you for that. I never got the courage to talk to you. You were so out of my league. And back then, if someone had told me I would be sitting here with you, I definitely would not believe them. And now I'm rambling on like and idiot about how much I like you, and-"

Noah's eyes widened as he came into realization of what he said. "Ah, shit. I wasn't supposed to say that." He rambled on again, but this time, nervously. "You aren't supposed to know that I like you."

"Noah-"

"And now you're probably going to laugh and leave." Noah sighed. "That's what I imagined you doing."

"Noah-"

"How could I be so stupid as to let that slip out?"

"Noah, would you please let me talk?" Olivia chuckled.

"And there's the laugh."

"First of all, shut the fuck up." Olivia took his hands in hers. "Second of all, I would never ever in a million years leave you. You are way too important for me to do ever even think of doing that."

"I know there's a but coming in here somewhere."

"Noah, please stop bringing yourself down." Olivia smiled at him. "You're way better than Jake and those other assholes any day."

"Really?" Noah's face went red as he blushed.

"Yes." Olivia giggled at him. "You are my favorite boy in Lakewood at the moment."

AN: I totally changed around this chapter right before I updated it. Wowza. I had t had any of the nolivia stuff in it. I had her forgiving Jake too, but I took that out. And I just added the whole Brooke thingy because why not. More drama. 😁😁
