Prologue: The Year Prior
(A/N) While I did my research, keep in mind that I'm exactly a psychiatrist. So I'm entirely sure how to write serial killers.
Y/H = Hair color
A night stroll around Woodsboro led Y/N to a situation he didn't expect to just walk in on by accident. To be honest, he was hoping for it, but he didn't think he was going to witness it himself. Maybe he has good luck, a twisted kind of good luck.
As mentioned earlier, Y/N takes a random walk at night every weekend every-so-often, tonight was because he recently broke up with his ex-Casey Becker.
Granted, it was mostly a sexual relationship, but you gotta take a moment to say goodbye to all that decent sex you had, keyword 'decent.'
Part of him always expected something sinister to happen at midnight, thinking that if he's lucky enough, he might stubble upon a crime.
He didn't really take that last thought seriously, but eventually, it came true. On a random street, the sound of a window rolling down caused the young Y/N to stop in his tracks. Since it was very quiet that night, Y/N was able to track the noise very easily.
He follows where he thinks he heard to noise, beginning to skulk when feels like he is close. He sees someone fiddling with a car, more specifically, the car window. Once it's open, the figure tosses something fabric inside the driver seat.
Y/N feels himself grinning, not at what he's seeing, but who he recognizes. Billy Loomis, Woodsboro high school's popular kid, the one half the girls flaunted over, and the one who's currently dealing with his parent's divorce.
Oh yes, Y/N knows about that, though at this point, almost everyone knows about it. One of the cons of being the popular kid, everyone hears about your personal life sooner or later. So, you better not cry about it or act like an actual human being, because then you lose that popularity fast.
Then Y/N recognizes the car Billy is illegally messing with, that's Cotton Weary's car. The man who uh... knows about a friend's mom really well. Yes, he knows about that too. Knowing what Y/N knows, it isn't too hard to put two and two together.
Y/N's grin grows wider. He reaches for his camera that he always keeps on his person and rushes over to the scene as if he's about to talk to his number one celebrity.
"Yes, yes!" He exclaims out loud, not caring about the fact he just alerted Billy to his presence. The mentioned teen swings his head backwards, staring at the excited witness. "Do you know how long I've waited to catch someone doing something illegal at night? Man, this is exactly what I need for the school newspaper!"
The Y/H teen grips his camera steady. "Let me, uh... let me see what you were doing. I promise I won't get your face in the shot." He proceeds to point the camera lens towards the open car window, taking a couple shots.
Billy blinks with baffled expression, "What are you-" Before snapping out of it and aggressively grabbing the camera and throwing it away where it hits the concrete. Y/N looks offended as he looks at both the broken camera and the greasy haired teen who had no right to throw away the one thing that could have gotten him sent to prison.
"Dude, that was like fifty dollars..." Y/N mentions disappointed.
"Shut up." Billy hisses strictly before pulling out a hunting knife. He stomps towards Y/N who hops backwards, raising his hands up in a pleading way.
"Hey, hey, hey! Woah, woah, woah. Calm down, I'm not ratting you out." Y/N assures as he tries not to get stabbed. Billys scoffs at him.
"Bullshit, the popular kid doing something illegal is always a golden scoop for the media." Billy states as a matter of fact, still giving Y/N that murderous look. "Hey, fuckrag!" He calls out someone farther away.
There's the sound of ruffling leaves, Y/N only takes a quick glance behind him before turning back to the clearly frustrated teen. "What man? I-" Y/N recognizes the voice of Stu Macher, a friend of his as he notices Y/N with his hands out in front of him. "Oh..."
"I thought I told you to keep an eye out." Billy brings up, giving his partner in crime an angry look. Y/N can feel the embarrassment radiating off of Stu as he stutters out a response.
"W-Well I was, but I had to pee real quick." Stu admits, trying not to make himself sound like a jackass. "I know that sounds stupid Billy, but I guess I just had bad timing-"
"For fuck's sake Stu..." Billy curses. "Whatever just hold him still, I can't gut this idiot with him fidgeting around."
"Woah, hey. Who said I wanted to stop you from messing with Cotton Weary?" Y/N name drops as Stu wraps a arm around his neck and hands. Y/N notices Billy stopping for a second upon hearing that name so he continues. "Nothing would please me more than seeing one of Maureen Prescott's toys be given what they deserve. I mean, that's what this was about right? Getting at Cotton?"
Billy lumbers closer to Y/N, knife still in hand, giving him a curious look. "You know about that?" He interrogates him.
" 'Know about it'? Does the name 'Roman' ring a bell?" Y/N name drops again, giving Billy a knowing smirk. The man in front of him twists his head, his expression in realization.
"You recorded those videos..." Billy guesses, anticipating Y/N's answer as he gets face-to-face with him.
"Half of them, but yes." Y/N confirms, nodding. Billy slowly lowers his knife as Stu looks at the two in confusion.
"Billy? What the heck is he talking about man? Who's Roman?" Stu questions the more knowledgeable of the two criminals.
"Shut up Stu." Billy hushes, giving Y/N a serious look. "I was wondering why you acted so weird, no one just runs up to a dangerous man like that."
Y/N shrugs his shoulders with an unhinged smile. "Can you tell your pet to let me go now?" He then requests after a few seconds. Stu looks offended at the title, but one look from Billy, and he reluctantly lets Y/N go.
"Thanks gentlemen." Y/N says as he stretches his arms a little. "Now, what scene were we filming here?" He inquires with a curios tone as he walks around Cotton's car.
"Maureen, the slut she is, is dead." Billy tells him, his nerves slightly frustrated at this teen hopping around the area. "Bet that's what you wanted, didn't you?"
"Hmmm... more or less." Y/N nonchalantly shrugs. He glances at Billy, wide-eyed when he realizes what he's wearing. "Wait a minute... is that Cotton's jacket?" He points at what Billy is wearing.
Billy glances down at his attire before giving following his lips. "Maybe..."
"A framing... that's nice." Y/N nods as he touches his chin with a couple fingers. "This is a pretty good murder you did here, but I doubt you guys are gonna stop there..." He says, staring at Billy with an anticipating look.
Billy and Stu share a look, slightly put off about how casual Y/N is acting. Billy turns to the teen. "What're you hinting at?" He questions Y/N.
"Look guys. I appreciate what you're doing. Marueen dead, had an affair with my dad. Cotton framed, never really liked him anyway." Y/N starts, counting the events with his fingers. "But If I know you correctly, and I think I do, you know you don't just stop with one murder, when you have a whole movie ahead of you."
Billy can't tell if he's impressed by his luck, or surprised that the person who caught him in the act is literally speaking his mind right now. But he looks at Y/N with a slightly suspicious glare, it's too good to be true, too easy.
"Get to the point." Billy orders Y/N, who gives raises his hands in surrender.
"Okay look, whenever you're ready to... commit any more crimes, write some scary death scenes. You boys call me, okay?" He offers the two. Billy crosses his arms while Stu chuckles at Y/N sounding like a businessman for murder. "Had a couple shifts in Fun-World. Have a couple tools we can use for... a little style."
With that, Y/N winks and leaves the two boys to whatever it was they were doing. Billy and Stu watch him leave, Billy with a skeptical look, while Stu just looks amused. "Man, who would've known a photographer for the school's paper was a psychopath." Stu jokingly comments. He looks at Billy. "What're you thinking?"
"Maybe..." Billy mumbles. "But psychos don't trust other psychos, keep that in mind." He lectures Stu who just nods, not giving that sentence much thought.
Billy sighs. "Come on."
Y/N was right though, people like Billy don't stop at one.
