Part 5: Candyman...

(A/N) Just to let ya'll know, there's another death scene in this part, meaning gory descriptions. You might not really care, but if anyone doesn't like hearing about how guts are poured out, skip the last scene.

____________________________________________________________________________

Riley house:

The American flag rises along with the sun as a new day surfaces Woodsboro, and last night wasn't exactly a peaceful one.  A day after Casey's body was found, the killer struck again, attacking Sidney Prescott. Even worse, the wrong person was jailed for the crime, and the killer mocked Sidney and the police for it.

Teens walk, roller-skate, or take the bus to school. Having been spared the visit from 'Father Death.' Meanwhile, Sidney and the Riley's have breakfast while the news on TV discusses, guess what? Sidney's good ole sad life.

"Sidney Prescott, who escaped a vicious attack last night, is the daughter of Maureen Prescott. Who was brutally killed last year, when convicted murderer Cotton Weary broke into their home and savagely raped and tortured the deceased."

Yeah, real good way to start the day, isn't it? Tatum, noticing Sidney's expression, puts her hand comfortingly on her shoulder.  "Cotten Weary is currently waiting appeal for the death sentence handed down after the young Sidney testified against him."

Testified, now that's ironic. Once again, she had to testify to the police, which landed Billy in cuffs. On the television, Cotten Weary looks into whatever camera that's broadcasting. Giving it a glare all too similar to the one Billy gave. "She was the key witness in the state's case against the-"

Dewey turns the TV off, knowing that it's probably gonna bring the mood down even further, especially what he has to tell Sidney. "It's never gonna stop, is it?" Sidney bitterly jokes, putting on a smile.

"Billy was released." Dewey tells Sidney, the look on the deputy's face tells everything before he can say it out loud. "Cellular bill was clean, he didn't make those calls."

"We're checking every cellular account in the county. Any calls made to you, or Casey Becker are being crossed-referenced." He lets her know. "We are also double checking Y/N's testimony since..." Dewey pauses and Sidney looks at him surprised.

"Y/N's a suspect?" Sidney asks surprised. Dewey awkwardly looks away.  "But why? He wasn't anywhere near-"

"It's just detective work Sid." Dewey defends, trying to be understanding of her reaction. "He's broken the law many times before. And his aunt has been telling us that he's been coming home later than usual."

Sidney doesn't say anything else after that, not willing to argue suspects. "It's gonna take some time, but we'll find him." Dewey promises. Tatum adds with another comforting, playful punch.

"You're gonna be okay..."

Woodsboro High School:

Dewey drives Tatum and Sidney to school, the atmosphere is somewhat the same as yesterday thought the students continue to be teens, using it as a mask of apathy to hide the fear that they might be next.

The deputy opens the door for them and notices Sidney taking a slower step out. "Don't worry Sid it's school, you'll be safe here." He confidently assures her.

Sadly, the one thing she's not safe from is reporters that like to almost shove microphones directly into your mouth, which Dewey has to keep back, allowing Sidney to pass. "Hey, leave her alone. She just wants to get an education!"

While walking along the path, Sidney grabs Tatum's wrist. "What?" Tatum turns to what Sidney is looking at, a news van belonging to a very similar Weathers, who's currently checking her face with her makeup case.

The only thing that's different about her is now she's wearing red with her hair no longer tied. Sidney thinks about the news this morning and remembers Gale's book. Then she finds herself walking towards the van.

The second Gale's eyes land on her, she straightens up and points a warning finger up into the air. "Stop. Right. There."

Sidney does and holds up her heads as a gesture of peace. "I'm not here to fight, I just need to talk." She tells Gale.

"Kenny? Camera, now." Gale immediately orders, and Kenny swiftly moves his fat tub of lard ass to get his camera.

"Off the record. No camera."

"Forgot it."

"Please." Sidney seriously looks into her eyes. "You owe me."

"I owe you shit." Gale almost laughs at her, to which Sidney's eyes flair up.

"You owe my mother!" Sidney retorts. Gale pauses for a second, just looking back at her, before slowly pushing Kenny's camera down.

"Your murder was last year's hottest court case." Gale states as a matter of fact, reminding Sidney what her occupation is. "Somebody was gonna write a book about it."

"Right, and it had to be you with all your lies and bullshit theories." Sidney snarkily criticizes. Gale scoffs at her.

"What is your problem?" Gale questions her, frustrated. "You got what you wanted. Cotten Weary's in jail, they're gonna gas him. The book is not gonna change that."

Sidney looks at her suspiciously and Kenny nervously looks at Gale. "Do you still think he's innocent?" Sidney pointedly asks.

"Your testimony put him away, it doesn't really matter what I think." Gale replies with a hint of sarcasm.

"During the trail, you did all those stories about me." Sidney notes. "You called me a liar." She then accuses.

"I think you falsely identified him, yes." Gale nods without hesitation.

"Have you talked to Cotten?" Sidney interrogates.

"Many times.

"And has his story changed?"

"Not one word." Gale maintains. "He admits to having sex with your mother, but that's all." Sidney looks at her like she's writing a book right now.

"He's... lying, she never wouldn't touched him." Sidney denies. "He raped her, and then... h-he butchered her. Her blood was all over his coat."

"He was drunk that night" Gale brings up. "He left his coat at your house, after your mother seduced him."

"I saw him leave wearing it." Sidney mentions what she's stated a thousand times, but Gale doesn't agree.

"No, you saw someone leave wearing that coat." Gale rebuttals. "The same someone who planted it in Cotten's car, framing him."

"No." Sidney defiantly shakes her head. "Cotton murdered my mother." So she says, but Gale scans her face, and she isn't convinced.

"You're not sure anymore, are you?" Gale asks. Sidney just glares, before Tatum comes across and protectivly puts her arm over her shoulder.

"Nice welts, sweetie." Tatum mockingly greets before turning to Sidney. "Let's go sid."

"The killer's still on the loose, isn't he?" Gale questions, completely ignoring her. "Those murders are related."

Sidney continues to glare, but Tatum forces her to look away, and she snaps out of it. They walk away, but Sidney turns to Gale one last time. "Sorry I mangled your face." Sidney fake apologizes before walking away.

"Sidney, don't go." Gale snaps her fingers to Kenny, but Tatum just moves her forward.

"Just stop!" Tatum growls at her, not taking any more words that come out of her mouth. Sidney doesn't say anything else, but deep down, she knows that gale's right. After all, if she got Billy wrong....

Gale watches the two leave and smiles as she realizes she's hit a bullseye. "Kenny, do you know what this means?" she turns to her cameraman. "An innocent man on death row, a killer still on the loose. Kenny, tell me I'm dreaming."

"Do you wanna go live?"

"No, no, no. Not so fast." Gale slows him down, noticing that he's getting excited. "We don't have anything concrete."

"This is huge, you can't just sit on it." Kenny encourages.

"I know. That's why we need proof." Gale reminds him. "If I'm right about this, I can safe a man's life." She then states. Kenny smiles, there's some good in Ms. Weathers after all.

"Do you know what that could do for my book sales!?"

Nevermind.

"No way man. Black Christmas started it all and you can't change my mind." Y/N debates with his friend Randy as they head to their next class.

"Uh-uh Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the grandfather of the genre." Randy retorts, to which Y/N scoffs at him. "That's an unspoken fact every fan agrees on."

"It might seem that way but Leatherface only kickstarted it." Y/N argues. "Trust me, this is all gonna end with the killer chasing their victim around in a mansion."

They go back and forth before Randy dives into his current classroom. Y/N's a little farther so he continues down the hall, finding his locker which is next to Stu, Tatum, and Sidney.

"This is a mistake, I shouldn't be here." Sidney expresses regret at choosing to come to school. The paranoia creeps at her, the caller's words echoing in her head. He really has a way with them, doesn't he?

"Oh come on, this is a public place, the killer wouldn't be that stupid." Y/N asserts in a tone that tries to reassure her. Sadly, that signature smirk isn't working this time.

"Even then, I want you to meet me right here after class, okay Sid?" Tatum instructs her. She's not a therapist, so the only thing she can do is make sure Sidney feels safe.

"Alright." Sidney turns to face Tatum and nods. Then she looks at Stu, who's currently examining his face with a mirror. "Hey, I haven't seen Billy around. Is he really pissed?"

"Oh, you mean after you branded him the Candyman?" Stu questions in a condemning voice. "No, his heart's broken." That earns him a light punch from Tatum. "Ow! Now you're doing it?"

"I will if you continue to act like an idiot." Tatum frustratedly replies.

"Oh, give him a break, he doesn't know that accusing your boyfriend of murder is a standard trait in the horror world." Y/N playfully defends Stu, ignoring the stare from Tatum. "Besides, at least now we know, right?"

Suddenly, everyone hears screaming from the hall. They all turn to see someone in a Father Death costume sprinting down the hall, screaming, and 'haunting' everyone close by. Even Sid, who flinches back. Tatum chuckles, not impressed, while Stu and Y/N mimic the prankster, Y/N even yells along with him as he passes by.

"Why are they doing this?" Sidney questions, sounding somewhat terrified as the bell rings.

"Are you kidding me? Look at this place, it's like Christmas!" Stu excitedly exclaims, earning another jab from Tatum.

"Stupidity leak!" Tatum criticizes, frustrated that Stu is not catching on as she taps him on the head with a lollipop.

"Ow, gosh, easy!"

"Bro, every part of this school has now turned into a horror convention." Y/N states as he gestures around the school, agreeing with Stu. "I mean, everything a fan wants is close by!"

Close by.

Close by...

"I'm aLwAyS cLoSe bY!"

Sid rushes to the bathroom, accidently shoving Y/N as she does. "Sid?" He calls out to her, confused. Sidney ignores him, and Y/N takes that as he cue to leave. Sidney, with part of her eyes closed, accidently bumps into someone.

"Ow, are you okay?" The voice of Bill Loomis questions the wannabe bowling ball. Her boyfriend, recognizing it's her, comfortingly holds her shoulders, but let's go when he sees the terrified look on her face. "Woah, woah, woah. You still think it's me..."

"No...No, I-I-I don't, it's just...." Sidney takes a deep breath, her emotions threatening to break her entire body. "Somebody was there Billy. S-Somebody tried to kill me..."

"I know, I know. The cops said I scared him away." Billy testifies to her. "No, it wasn't me, Sid."

"I know." Sidney admits. "He called me again last night, at Tatum's house." She says, referring to the killer.

"You see?" Billy affirms, there's a hint of frustration in his voice. "Couldn't have been me, I was in jail remember?" To illustrate that, he shows Sidney his hands which have been stained due to being in a cell.

"I'm so.... sorry, please understand." Sidney pleads, not wanting her boyfriend to now hate her over a mistake.

"Understand what?" Billy questions, taking a step closer. "That I have a girlfriend who would rather accuse me of being psychopathic killer than touch me?"

Sidney looks taken aback at what he's just said. "You know that's not true."

"Then what is it?" Billy asks, still frustrated.

"What... is it!?" Sidney quotes him, has he not been paying attention? "Billy, I was attacked, and nearly filleted last night!"

"I mean between us." Billy explains. "I mean you haven't been the same since.... since your mother died."

"Is-Is your brain leaking!?" Sidney shouts, offended. "My mother was killed, I can't believe you're bringing this up!"

"It's been a year!"

"Tomorrow." Sidney corrects Billy. "One year, tomorrow."

"You know what? I think it's time you got over that." Billy tells her as bluntly as possible. "I mean, when my mom left me and my dad, I accepted it. It's the way it is, she's not coming back."

"Your parents split up, this is not the same thing." Sidney argues. "Your left town, she's not lying in a coffin somewhere!"

"Okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry. That was a bad analogy." Billy backs up, noticing her voice getting louder. "It's just that.... I want my girlfriend back."

Unable to hear anymore of whatever the fuck Billy is trying to say, Sidney shoves past and towards the bathroom. "Sid-"

"Billy, I am sorry if my 'traumatized life' is an inconvenience to you and your perfect existence!" She yells behind her.

"Sidney, nobody said that!" Billy pleadingly shouts, but Sidney's already gone. "Agh... stupid!" He mutters, beating his head.

Stupid little Sidney.....

Principle Himbry aggressively shuts his door. With him in the office are two teens who were screaming like ghosts in the hallway.

"You make me so sick." He growls at them with distain. "You're entire, havoc inducing, thieving, whoring generation disgusts me!" He's so mad, he doesn't even try to be gentle as he completely rips the masks off and throws them onto to the floor.

He grabs a pair of rather large, and sharp scissors from his desk. "So, two of your fellow students just savagely murdered, and this is the way you show your compassion and sensitivity, huh?" He berates the boys as he cuts one of the masks with the scissors.

"I'mma tell you something....." He points the scissors at one of the kids so viciously, you'd think he might be the killer himself. "You're both expelled, get out!" He almost cuts a shirt as he opens the door and points outside.

"Oh, come on, Mr. Himbry! It was just a joke!"

"Yeah, that's not fair!"

Himbry glares at the two protesting boys, he decides to close the door again. "You're right, that isn't fair... " He seems to soften voice, before rapidly pointing the scissors straight at one of the student's shirts, terrifying them. "Fairness, would be to rip your insides out, hang you from a tree so we can expose you for the heartless, disentitled little shits that you are!"

The boys, now clearly intimidated for their lives, run out with one thought in their minds.

Himbry fucking sucks.

Sidney sets her bag on the sink and stares into the mirror, and she can tell she looks miserable. Not only did the killer jeered her mother, attacked her in her own house, tricked her into getting Billy arrested, but he also turned half of the friend group against her.

Billy obviously feels betrayed by her, Stu doesn't seem to have taken it well either, and judging from the remarks from Y/N, he doesn't seem to agree with it at all. He's really trying to separate her from everyone else.

"She was never attacked, I think she made it all up." A sudden, and loud teenage voice rings out from one of the stalls.

"Why would she lie about it?" Another girl asks.

"Ugh, for attention! The girl has some serious issues."

Obviously, they're referring to Sidney. When she hears the toilet flush, Sidney hides behind the wheelchair open stall, not wanting to go through another confrontation.

"What if she did it?" The first girl theorizes. Sidney feels like she recognizes the voice, and judging from the bratty tone she speaks in, she identifies it as Jennifer, one of Y/N's exes. "What if Sidney killed Casey and Steve?"

"Why would she do that?"

"Maybe she had the hots for Steve and killed them both in a jealous rage." Jennifer continues on with a voice that sounds like it knows it's bullshitting but think it's fun anyway.

"What would Sidney want with Steve?" The second girl cross examines. "She has her own bubble-butt boyfriend, Billy." She mentions in a surprising tongue twist.

"Maybe she's a slut, just like her mother." Jennifer offhandedly insults. Sidney feels a pain to the chest upon hearing that, but her brain does it's best to help by humorously reminding her of the stuff Y/N would say about Jenny.

"You're evil."

"Please, it's a common fact."  Jennifer waves it off like an old newspaper. "Her mother was a tramp."

Clearly, there's no mercy in this forsaken high school as it seems everyone likes to blame her mom for everything that's happening, Sidney has to sit down to prevent herself from shaking with rage.

"Cut her some slack, she watched her mom get butchered." The second girl brings up to her 'friend.'

"And it fucked her up royally." Jennifer mentions. "Think about it, her mother's death leaves her disturbed and hostile, in a cruel and inhumane world. She's delusional, 'where's God?' ect. Completely suicidal, one day she snaps; she wants to kill herself, but she realizes that teen suicide is out this year, and homicide is a much healthier therapeutic expression."

Okay, now Sidney sees why she only lasted a week before Y/N admitted she was a snake. "Where do you get this shit?" The second girl asks Jennifer, sounding completely skeptic.

"Ricki Lake." Jennifer references before mercifully leaving the bathroom.

"Ugh, you are pathetic!" The other girl criticizes as she follows her. Thankfully that leaves Sidney to come out and continue staring into the mirror.

"Pathetic...." Sidney mimics the words out-loud as she looks into the eyes that are stained in black, she really does look like a mess.

"Sidney....." A voice whispers her name, which echos across the bathroom, no.... Sidney turns to face it, realizing she obviously can't see through stall doors, she crouches down and looks below them.

No feet, so maybe she's lost her mind. Then she looks at the vent that's blowing air and realizes the sound is coming through there.

"Sidney...." Again, but louder, and it's definitely human. Fuck, stop it. Sidney looks again, no noise, no noise and she hates it.

"Someone there?" She calls out, hoping it can draw out something, or someone.

Then, there's the sound of shoes coming in contact with steel. Sidney crouches again, but there's still no feet, could someone be standing on the toilet maybe?

Then boots touch the ground from one of the stalls, Sidney observes as a cloak falls down and surrounds the figure's body. No, he's actually here, he's still...... close by.

Then the stall unlocks. "SIDNEY!" The mistakenly voice of the killer yells as he charges out of the stall and towards Sid!

She slides under him and the killer's knife only scratches glass as he swings it towards her. Sidney takes off as the blade follows and she slams the door behind her, causing Ghostface to slam his head right into it.

She dashes down the hall, the teacher noticing her doesn't make her feel safe at all. Nowhere's safe.

Nowhere's safe!

________________________________________

Meanwhile, in the gym locker room, practice is over, and Jennifer and the others chose their lockers, excited for the plans they've made for themselves on the weekend.

"Jenny, you coming?" A cheerleader asks as Jennifer's friends begin to leave.

"Hold on, I'll catch with you guys in a sec." Jennifer replies in a frustrated voice, clearly having trouble with the space in her locker. They shrug and head out, when the wooden door to the locker room closes, the area is then covered in silence, almost everything echoes.

Especially, the phone ring that comes from Jennifer's bag. The unnaturally loud voice causes to Jennifer to jump a little, but since it's probably her blabbermouth mom, she answers it. "Hello?"

"Hello?" A male stranger's voice rings out. Jennifer doesn't recognize it at all.

"Who's this?" Jennifer asks after realizing it's not her mom.

"You tell me." The stranger replies, sounding like she should remember him or something.

"How am I supposed to know, 'scary caller?' " Jennifer questions, slightly amused by whatever tactic the caller is using the scare her.

"Because that's the game." The stranger calmly answers. "Successfully guessing who it is before the big reveal."

Jennifer laughs. "Well gee, let me think..." She playfully puts a finger to her chin in a thinking pose. "Randy Meeks?"

"Nope."

"Billy Loomis?"

"Closer."

She sighs, "Look, whoever this is, I don't have time for this shit. So stop with the Billy Lenz impression." Jennifer berates as he finally shuts her locker closed.

"Why haven't you guessed Sidney yet?" The stranger queries, which makes her feel slightly uncomfortable.

"Why would I say that?"

"Because that's what you theorized earlier, remember?" The stranger brings up, that gets Jennifer's attention.

"H-How do you know that?" Jennifer questions, now creeped out at how a man was possibly stalking her from the bathroom.

"Because I'm Woodsboro's biggest celebrity, Jenny~" The stranger proudly states, their voice having a slight purr in it. "And I find that... homicide is a much healthier therapeutic expression!"

Jennifer, knowing she truly was being watched, feels her body shaking everywhere, feeling eyes watching from behind every locker hole. "Want some advice, Jenny?" The stranger now speaks in that dark, hostile tone.

"W-What?"

"RUN BITCH!"

The stranger than abruptly hangs up, leaving a scared Jennifer to do a complete spin of the locker room. Then there's a slight thud, which makes Jenny jump again. Deciding to take the killer's advice, she makes a break for the door, only for it to reveal a figure on the other side.

Before she can scream, the killer stabs her in the gut, kicks her back in, and forcefully shuts the door, leaving her trapped in the room with him.

Jennifer gets herself up and runs for the other door, but the killer doesn't take it kindly and follows her. She tries to be quick, but even her agility can't outrun 'Father Death' and he grabs her by the hair, shoves her against a pillar and stabs her in the gut, again.

Jennifer, feeling the blade cut her stomach as it slightly turns, can only look at the killer and sees only the mask staring back at her. He takes the knife out, but immediately stabs her again in the shoulder before throwing her to the floor now stained with blood.

The cheerleader can now only crawl to the door, trying to find a glimmer of hope to survive, but when she looks up and sees the killer nonchalantly walking alongside her, Jennifer realizes she's being played with.

To confirm this, the killer stabs her in the back next, purposefully missing her heart, not allowing her to die just yet. Then he hovers over her as she uses whatever strength she has left to crawl. And he slices, not stab, slice.

Slices the arm, slices the back, slices thigh, slice again, again, again, again, and again. Jennifer screams, screams for it to stop, screams for mercy, screams the pain to go away, screams for whatever mercy the stranger can spare.

The killer responses by grabbing her hair, forcing her head up, and stabbing her in the back of the head and through the chin. He holds the mouth to keep her still and her eyes shoot up, only revealing red veins as they almost pop out of the socket.

When all motion from her stops, the killer, Y/N L/N, let's go and leaves her body for the police to find, cutting off a piece of hair before he goes. Her death wasn't really part of the plan, but Billy told him and Stu that they needed to leave a few bodies at school for act three.

Now, there's only one more person the kill, the fucking principle himself.

______________________________________________

(A/N) Alright, there we go, new chapter, and another death scene after three parts. I just kinda wanted to up the body count by one, because I wanted Y/N to be able to do his own thing, and not just be there for the sake of being a reader insert, you know?

Anyway, thanks for reading, see you in the next part!
