Part 3: The Caller Is In The House!

Some time later

The bus makes it's next stop, Prescott's house. Sidney steps out of the bus, "See you Sidney!" and, "I'll talk to you tomorrow, Sid." she hears as students wave her goodbye.

Unexpectedly, another person gets out of the bus as well. "Sidney, wait up." Y/N's voice calls out to her. Sidney turns around to see the Y/H haired teen quickly walk up as the bus drives away.

"Hey, I'm sorry if Randy and I made you uncomfortable earlier." He apologizes in a surprisingly soft tone. Sidney would lie if she were saying it didn't catch her off guard. "We were just trying to make light of the situation, since everyone was super dreadful about it at school."

Shaking off the surprise, Sidney gives him a genuine, forgiving smile. "Thanks Y/N, but it's fine, really. I just needed to head home." She excuses.

Y/N nods, trying to believe her, but he understood that look too well. Then Sidney laughs and he looks at her surprised. "What?"

"You get off the bus, knowing your house is like five blocks away, just to say you're sorry?" She asks him amused. Y/N glances at the street, growing an uncaring smirk.

"Oh that? I needed the exercise anyway." He waves it off. "Speaking of, I should get going before I worry my aunt anymore."

With that he takes off, already beginning his jog. Sidney can't help but mentally laugh at the thought of the lady-killer Y/N going soft on her, 'Maybe that's his secret,' Sidney thinks to herself.

_______________________________________________

Unknowing to Sidney, Y/N was mostly just stalling her, allowing Stu to break in, and hide inside her home. He knows he doesn't have to worry about Sidney getting hurt, since this will mostly just be an attack on her psyche.

Y/N can feel the unhinged smile creeping on his lips as he thinks of her. He's always wondered what it was about Sidney that captivated him so well. Was it the fact she seemed so static, despite the personality of a theater kid being inside her? Maybe it was just her looks, but that seems too easy.

Maybe he'll figure it out..... Maybe. But whatever happens, she can't die, not yet, only until him and Roman agree that the time is right.

A couple minutes later, Sidney lets her pony tail down, recently changed to a long sleeve-shirt, and pants. "So you're sure I can stay over? Because my dad won't be back 'till Sunday." She makes plans with Tatum on the phone while she ambles the porch.

"No prob, I'll pick you up after practice." Tatum replies. There's a slight pause after that, both of them can feel an uneasy tension from both ends. "You okay?" She asks eventually.

"Uh-huh, it's just... You know, the police, reporters, and everything. It's like deja-vu all over again." Sidney maunders, hinting at 'you know what.'

"I'll be there by seven, I promise." Tatum assures her in a soft voice.

"Thanks Tatum."

"Later." Tatum says before hanging up the phone.

Sidney takes a quick view of the outside world, before walking back inside. She subconsciously locks the door as she glances out one last time.

After getting the necessary bathroom requirements, she then steps downstairs. She opens the closet door, grabbing another back before shutting the door without a second glance.

__________________________________________

Stu lets out a breath he was holding as soon as the closet door shuts. Thank gosh the closet was big enough to prevent Sidney from seeing him and thank gosh she wasn't paying attention either.

Now that he thinks about it, he's going to have to be in here for a long time, will he? Ugh..... They should've made Y/N get in the closet.

Sidney sets the stuff in front of her feet as her bottom touches the couch. Grabbing the tv remote, she decides to pass the time with TV. Unfortunately for her, channels are plagued with news about the murders.

"The bodies of seventeen-year-old Casey Becker and her eighteen-year-old boyfriend Steve Orth were discovered late last night by the girl's dead parents-"

Already knowing this, Sidney changes the channel.

"The Woodsboro's double murder case. Authorities are baffled by the lack of clues, and the savage-"

Change again, word really travels fast, don't it? The second gruesome murders start happening, the entire news wants a piece of the cake. Sadly, the screen then shows Woodsboro square, again.

"The town's in shock, and no one can quite believe what has happened here." Sidney recognizes that yellow dress again, Gale Weathers. "Although this is not the first time the small community of Woodsboro has endured such tragedy." She begins as a picture of Sidney's mom displays on the screen. "Only a year ago, Maureen Prescott, wife and mother, was found raped and murdered not far from this peaceful town square."

Giving up on watching TV, Sidney shuts the tv off, angrily dropping the remote as it hits the coffee table. She instead back tracks and heads to the other couch next to the fireplace. There she hears a creak, Sidney stands there for a second, but no other noise is made after that, and she instead lays on the couch, where a picture of her and her mother resides.

She gazes out the window for a minute, then checks the clock, before finding herself staring at the photo of her and her mother. A year ago, guess it was, even though it feels like forever.

Shaking the thoughts out, Sidney lays down on the couch, letting her head rest as time flies by, before she knows it, she's dead asleep.....

"Are you sure you can do it?" Billy asks Y/N for the fifth time this night. Since part of the plan involved Billy without the costume, Y/N volunteered to be the caller this time. Billy of course, not wanting to screw the plan up, was slightly hesitant, until Y/N assured him he's good at playing a character.

"I got it, trust me." Y/N assures him, for the fifth time again. Dawning his Ghostface costume, Billy hands him Neil's phone. Obviously, they're using it from now on so they can further frame Neil Prescott for the murders. even though they had to use Mr. Loomis's phone for the night with Casey.

"Besides, I need the practice, don't I?" Y/N mentions. Billy doesn't respond, so Y/N guesses that means he agrees.

The plan here is to use the old fashion, 'The boyfriend is a suspect' trope to proclaim Billy's innocence. By having him show up at a suspicious time, 'drop' his dad's phone, then have Stu and Y/N call Sidney whilst Billy's arrested. Since at this point, horror movies rarely had a accomplice in on it, much less three killers at once, it should convince the police enough to let Billy go. This will of course, put Sidney under a lot of mental stress.

Thankfully, Y/N wasn't on shift this current day, so he was able to join in on the fun. With the voice changer already in hand, Y/N calls Sidney's house. Now that the scene's been written, time to act it out.

Sky's now dark. The loud noise of the phone ringing stirs Sidney awake. She adjusts her eyes a bit, seeing how dark it is now before picking up the phone. "Hello?"

"Practice ran late, and I'm on my way, okay?" It's Tatum, informing her she's coming. Sidney double checks the clock, reading 7:17.

"It's past seven." Sidney mentions as she looks out the window, no doubt hinting at the fact there's still a possible serial killer haunting around.

"Don't worry, Casey and Steve didn't bite it 'till way after ten." Tatum humorously assures her. Don't know, how that applies, but guess that's the best Sidney's gonna get.

"Oh, well, that's comforting." Sidney remarks.

"I'm gonna swing by the video store." Tatum lets her know. "I'm was thinking Tom Cruise in, 'All the Right Moves.' You know, if you pause it just right, you can see his penis~"

Sidney chuckles at her. "Whatever, just... hurry, okay?" She says.

"Ta-ta, Sid." Tatum says before hanging up.

Sidney does so as well, about to let her thoughts take over. However, about three seconds after putting down the phone, it rings again. Assuming it's her best friend, Sidney sighs before picking it up. "Tatum, just get in the car-"

"Hello. Sidney." It's not Tatum. The tone of the male stranger's voice sends a chill down Sidney's spine, even though she hasn't heard it before.

"Uh... Hi, who is this?" Sidney asks as she sits straight up.

"You tell me." The stranger oddly replies. Sidney blinks, not sure how to respond to that.

"Well... Well I have no idea." Sidney awkwardly tells him.

"Scary night, isn't it? With the murders and all, it's like straight out of a... horror movie or something." The stranger comments. Recognizing the horror movie fan-like lines, Sidney laughs knowingly.

"Y/N, you gave yourself away." She calls him out as she flicks up the nearby lamp's light. "You should tell everyone knows you're a slasher fan."

"Do you like scary movies, Sidney?" Y/N bluntly asks her in a risqué tone. Yup, this is definitely him.

"I like that thing you're doing with your voice Y/N, it's sexy." Sidney comments, holding a hand over her mouth as she giggles.

"What's your favorite scary movie?" Y/N asks her next. Sidney can't tell if he just let out a moan, or he just dialed the voice higher.

"Oh, come on, you know I don't watch that shit." Sidney remarks.

"Why not? Too scared?" Y/N teases.

"No. It's just, what's the point?" Sidney retorts. "I mean they're all the same. Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act, who's always running up the stairs when she should be going out the front door. It's insulting."

"Are you... Alone in the house?" Y/N asks out of nowhere. Although it still doesn't impress her.

"Y/N, that's so unoriginal." Sidney light mocks Y/N's line. "I'm disappointed in you."

"Maybe that's because... I'm not Y/N." The caller says, voice now hostile. Sidney's face drops, that didn't sound pleasant.

"So, who are you?" She questions him, cautiously.

"The question isn't, who I am." 'Y/N' tauntingly replies. "The question is, where am I?"

"S-So, where are you?" Sidney corrects, hearing herself stutter.

"Your front porch." The caller sinisterly replies. Sidney's eyes slightly widen as she walks down the hallway.

"Why would be calling me from my front porch?" She asks the caller.

"That's the original part." The caller replies with a witty response.

Sidney walks in front of the front window. Looking outside, she sees that there's no one there. "Oh yeah? Well, I call your bluff." She snarkily replies as she unlocks the front door, stepping outside.

And there's no one in sight. She looks behind the trees, front yard, a bush, nothing. "So where are you?" She questions, challenging him.

"Right here." The caller confidently replies. Sidney's head turns to where she thinks she hears the voice coming from, but she doesn't see a soul move. Deciding it's better safe than skeptical, she checks the other side. It's dark, and if there was somebody, they most likely would be wearing black clothing, but there's still nothing out there that would distinguish a person.

Sidney shakingly chuckles, this has to be a prank caller. "Can you see me right now?" She queries.

"Uh-huh."

"Ah, okay. What am I doing?" Sidney queries next as she pretends to pick her nose. "What am I doing, hello~?" There's no answer, the caller remains silent, got him. "Nice try, Y/N. I'll forgive you for this too, bye now-"

"If you hang up on me, you'll die! JUST LIKE YOUR MOTHER!" The caller psychotically threatens her. This isn't Y/N, even he wouldn't go that low. "Do you wanna die, Sidney? Your mother sure didn't."

Sidney grips the phone hard, this douche is gonna play that card? "Fuck you, you Cretin." She curses at him before stomping back inside. Paranoia creeping inside, she locks the front door, glaring deep inside its soul as if there's someone right behind it, laughing at her.

Then there's an abrupt slam against the wall. Sidney turns around to see a figure charge at her with a knife.

She screams, but ducks below the slash. The intruder doesn't take this too well and elbows her in the side, knocking her down. When they're about to get on top, she swipes his feet from under him. Unluckily, the intruder is quick and gets back up and holds her down before she can act as swiftly.

They struggle, the intruder waving they're knife around, trying to get at her face as they frustratingly growl. They then grab her by the hair and give a headbutt, which causes Sidney's recoil onto the hard, wood surface.

The fuzziness causes her to stop and drop her arms. The killer creepily caresses her neck and chest with his blade before bringing it up...

But Sidney gets her wits back and she kicks him right in the torso, which knocks him off of her. She then tries to open the front door again, but the lock prevents her from doing so. "Shit!" She curses. She senses the killer getting back up, and barley dodges another stab that scratches the door.

Mentally saying, 'screw it' she runs up the stairs, the killer in hot pursuit. They're saying something, but the mask makes it too muffles to understand.

She then dives into her room and shuts the door, sadly, there's no lock but then she remembers last night. She opens her closet door all the way, and it stops the bedroom door in its tracks the killer tries bursting in.

Angry, the killer flails their weapon around as if it's gonna slice something. Sidney runs to call 911, but the phone just bleeps that it's dead, they cut the phone line! "Shit!" She curses again. Hearing the killer trying to break down the door, she decides trying her computer, using Deaf Typer.

She calls 911 with it, and there's an immediate response, "What's your emergency?" It reads. Before Sidney types it in, she realizes how quiet it is. She turns around and sees the killer isn't there anymore, they gave up.

Suddenly, someone peaks out from the bedroom window. "Billy!" She recognizes as he crawls through. She can't help but rush to him.

"Door was locked, I heard screaming, you alright?" Billy asks her, worried.

"Ther killer is here, he's in the house!" Sidney frantically tells him, as she clings onto him for dear life. Billy decides to just hug her comfortingly.

"He's gone... he's gone, it's alright." He assumingly whispers in her ear. But then something falls from his pocket, a phone, except Billy doesn't usually carry a wireless phone around. Now that she thinks about it, why is he here in the first place?

"What?" Billy looks at her, not catching on. Sidney shakingly breathes as she pushes herself away. "Sid, what?" He asks her again. but Sidney just shakes her head, she can't believe it... She takes off.

"Woah, woah woah. Wait, wait!" Confused, Billy follows after her. "Sidney, wait, wait, wait! Where are you going!?" He calls out to her, but she keeps running down the stairs. "Sidney, come back! SIDNEY!"

Seeing blue and red lights flash outside, Sidney quickly unlocks and opens to door, to see the mas of the killer!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

Dewey faces her screaming as well. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" After taking a few breathes, Dewey gives her a friendly look. "It's okay, I found this." He explains. Dewey then faces the other cops.

"Come on!"

___________________________________________

"Alright, hold his hands together." A deputy orders the other as they cuff Billy on the hood of their vehicle. It's needless to say why.

"You have the right to remain silent." Dewey begins stating the facts you know oh-so-well.

"I didn't do anything!" Billy shouts, as she struggles under the two policemen.

"-Do you wish to give up your right to speak to an attorney present, during questioning?" Dewey continues among Billy's insistence.

"Ask Sid, she'll tell you." Billy, not answering, beckons to her. "Ask her!"

During this, the Sherriff's car rolls up, headlights on. He drives up next to Dewey who comes up as he rolls down the passenger window. "What'd you got, Dewey?" Burke questions.

"I caught him, Sherrif." Dewey proudly responses, gesturing to the teen still trying to break free despite the cuffs already on him.

"Wait!"

"Who is that?" Burke asks Dewey.

"Billy Loomis." Dewey identifies. Burke is slightly surprised Sidney called on her own boyfriend of all people, but I guess crime is so low around here that even thievery will cause some shock. He steps out of the car, facing the kid.

"Sir, sir, call them off. I didn't do it!" Billy persistently pleads. "Wait, wait, listen! Call my dad. Please, call him. He'll tell you, just call him." Billy is shoved in the car, nobody talking to him. "Sidney! Sidney!" He yells before a deputy shuts the door on him.

"How's she doing?" Burke asks Dewey as they walk to the ambulance.

"Sid's tougher than she looks." Dewey answers positively. Sidney is currently sitting in the back, using Dewey's coat as a jacket during the expected cold weather of night.

"SID!"

"Well, we're seeing a lot of you today." Burke jokes to Sidney as Tatum's red car pulls up. "You're going to be able to come by down the station and answer a few questions Sid?"

"Oh shit, Sidney!" Tatum yells, running to the ambulance much to the annoyance of his brother.

"Tatum, you can't be here, this is an official crime scene." Dewey tells her, before pulling her away.

"It's okay." Sidney assures him in a weak voice. Dewey sighs before letting go.

"Her dad's outta town, alright?" Tatum tells Dewey with the classic frustrated sibling tone. "She's staying with us tonight?"

"D-Does mom know?" Dewey asks her in a way that almost breaks the professional personality.

"Yes, doofus."

"Let's get you outta here." Burke advises, calmly guiding Sidney over to his van. Dewey then beckons him over to his police car.

"You won't believe this." Dewey says before showing Sherrif Burke the Ghostface mask. A little halloween-y, but ideal for an intruder with bad intentions. "Creepy, huh?"

Then another vehicle shows up. The news van belonging to Gale weathers, who swiftly exits her seat and runs over. "I'll be dammed... Jesus! The camera, hurry!"

"My name isn't Jesus..." Said cameraman mentions.

Gale bolts to the Sherriff van, but obviously, it takes off before she can try speaking to her. "Excuse me, is that Sidney Prescott they took away." Gale questions Sid's best friend who tries to ignore her.

"Not talking to you." Tatum scoffs, walking away.

"What happened to her?"

"None of your dammed business."

"I heard something about a costume, is that true?" Gale continues questions, despite Tatum getting into her car dismissively. "Can you tell me anything?"

"Yeah, you're a real pain in the ass." Tatum bitterly remarks. "Leave Sid alone."

"Where's she going?" Gale's cameraman questions behind her, only now finally gotten the camera on his shoulder.

The reporter sighs. "Look. Kenny?"

"Yeah?"

"I know you're about 50 pounds overweight. But when I say hurry, please interpret that as 'move your fat, tub of lard ass now!' "

Y/N watches the entire scene unfold from the shadows, an amused smile on his face. The police, thinking they've got Billy, Sidney's vulnerable state, and reporters against everyone else was pretty funny.

Stu sneaks up next to him, looking a little tired. "Next time man, you're being put in the closet for five hours." He complains to him. Y/N just looks back at him.

"Nice job." He just says to Stu, who rolls his eyes. Stu looks at the house, and giggles at himself, looking like he just pulled the greatest prank ever.

"Dude, she actually ran up the stairs when she was criticizing it two minutes earlier" Stu laughs. "And now she's gonna feel like an idiot when 'the killer' calls her tomorrow." He adds on, and Y/N sadistically nods.

"Indeed, she will."
