S2 Chapter 8: A Nightmare on Elm Street

New York City:

The situation is now fucked belong belief. Kirby traces the call Sam receives over to an old, abandoned theater in the theater district of New York, right before contact is cut off and the two Carpenter sisters take off, but not before one of them drops it that the killer is going after Y/N fifty blocks across the street.

"Sam?" Kirby tries calling her again, but the earpiece nor the phone isn't working anymore. Ethan and Mindy are still trying to process what just happened. "Sam?"

The three then hear a banging coming from the back of the van, and Ethan opens it to show Wayne standing on the other side. "Sam and Tara took my car, they're taking off towards the theater." He tells them with an urgent tone, confirming what just happened thirty seconds ago.

"Seriously?!" Mindy exclaims as everyone turns towards the detective with an alarmed expression. "How the hell did you lose the two of them while they were with your for heaven's sake?!"

"I already told you, they took my car!"

"You mean the police car?" Ethan queries as he blinks, a random thought popping into his head. "Did they use the sirens?"

"Not important smart-ass." Mindy criticizes as he elbows Ethan's side.

"Ow! Geez..."

"Is there anyway we can get to them without running over half-a-dozen trick-or-treaters?" Wayne asks Kirby as he gets inside, since the van is now the only means of transportation they have left on their side. The blonde quickly extends her map again, this time, using GPS to get the fastest route. It takes her a while to find one that doesn't have a massive red line in the pathway but thankfully, she finds one that's only blue.

"Yes, we take the way around that'll lead us to the other side of the theater." Kirby answers with a nod as she and Wayne quickly circle around while the agent taking the driver's seat and the detective taking the passenger's. "We'll get there a lot later than they will, but here's hoping we get there in time."

"More like praying..." Wayne remarks, to which the kids agreeingly nod. They need to get there fast.

Kirby takes them out of the lot the van's parked in before revving up the gear and sending them down the street as quickly a possible. They may not have sirens, but they also aren't going to obey any street laws while lives are at stake. Ethan does his best to hold on, not wanting to fly around like those comedic scenes in the movies, while Mindy just focuses on wanting to get there as soon as possible, even if it makes it feels like they are extremely slow.

They speed down the highway until they find an obstacle that forces Kirby to slam on the breaks, bringing Ethan's fears to life as he and Mindy almost bump heads. "What happened? Why'd we stop?!" Ethan frantically asks as the two collage kids look over and see the problem.

"That's what's wrong." Kirby answers in a voice of frustration as everyone stares at the massive block party that is happening in front of them. There's at least a hundred costumed kids hanging out and breaking the law by drinking in public, getting high off their gourd, making out in front of everyone, or dancing in many ways, some suggestive, some just for a fun time. "Damn it, we won't be able to get past this without committing manslaughter."

Everyone frantically looks around, before Ethan spots a subway entrance that they must've passed earlier around in the streets. "There!" He loudly points out, getting the attention of the others. "We can use the trains, it's the only other fastest situation we got."

"You sure?" Mindy questions with a skeptical brow, not sure if she wants to trust a suspect at this moment in time.

"It's that or try to run."

"Wait, hold on." Wayne tries to chime in, but the two ignore her as Mindy lets out a small sigh before deciding to go along with his plan. "Hey!" He yells out as the two collage kids quickly jog over to the subway, leaving the two adults alone with a van still in their possession. "Great.... now what?" He asks Kirby, who thinks on it for a moment before letting out a small exhale.

"We could try following them, but there was also another route I was going to take if this ended up being a dead end." Kirby suggests with a mental shrug, though she quickly notices the nervousness Wayne carries when hearing that 'plan'. "Or, well, you know, we could legally take a car if it's required to be used to stop a criminal." She also mentions with a tiny smirk, knowing they'll get away with it.

Wayne turns to Kirby, before nodding with a smirk of his own.

He never thought we would be so open to abuse the badge like this.

New York City: A Few Roads Across...

Meanwhile, Sam and Tara are still driving through the street in a desperate attempt to get to the theater before Ghostface potentially kills Y/N. He sounded like he was ready to do so if they take too long, and the last thing they need on their conscious is to let it be known that they gave up on someone like him.

"Come on.... come on...." Sam has been trying to call him every five minutes, but each and every time, including this one, it just goes to voicemail after a few rings. "Shit..." She swears to herself while Tara glances at her in worriment while she speeds past multiple people, cars, and signs, while making sure not to hit any of them.

"We're gonna get there, Sam, that fucker's not going to kill him on our watch." Tara promises Sam, using her voice to be sincere since she has to keep her head pointed at the road, so she doesn't stupidly cause a wreck to happen before they are even half-way there. The older sister nods, but part of her cuts into her by making her think that Y/N's death is inevitable, something Tara notices. "Please don't tell me you think it was your fault."

"I should've been protective of him like I am with you." Sam stares anyway, to which Tara just shakes her head in response. "I saw the signs, he was becoming reckless again, like it was his holy mission to save the world before either one of us died. I should've stopped him at the complex earlier, maybe then this would've-"

"Let's just focus on getting there right now, okay? Finally ending this thing?" Tara insists to her sister, wanting to set her mind to a healthier goal. Sam stares at her blankly for a few minutes before agreeingly nodding with a determined look on her face now. After which, the younger sister glances at Sam with a tiny smile. "You know, you're really lucky, you know that?" She quips with a teasing glint in her eye, wondering how she managed to get back together with Y/N in the first place.

"Tara, now is not-"

"I'm serious! You usually don't get the guys who actually prove the fact that they'd 'take' a bullet' for you..... half a dozen times." Tara mentions with a tiny grin on her face. Y/N has been stabbed many more times than they can count, and yet he's still around and wanting to go toe-to-toe with the killer like he's the Tommy Jarvis to Ghostface's Jason Voorhees.

Sam gives her a blank stare, though Tara just jokingly shrugs at her in response, which makes her admittedly giggle a little bit.

"Yeah, I guess I am."

New York: Subway

As the two rapidly step down the stairs, they see just how big the crowd is. It's no wonder why Ghostface decided to wait until Halloween for their little massacre in such a big city like New York. Almost everyone they pass by is wearing costumes, giving Ghostface a intimidatingly easy advantage over Ethan and Mindy, especially when it's just the two of them.

"It's gonna be fine, Ethan, it's gonna be fine, Ethan, it's gonna be fine, Ethan...." Laundry constantly repeats to himself as they march down the stairs. As he sees the constant amount of costumed people the two of them pass, he becomes even more nervous, however. "Oh son of a...... I wish we were with Sam and Tara right now."

"You know, you can just go home if you don't feel like it." Mindy brings up in a dry tone as she walks ahead of him, not as scared about a pair of attention-seekers with knives like he is.

"So, we just give up and let that son of a bitch kill Tara without a fight? No, thank you." Ethan remarks in a sassy voice, wishing he didn't decide to bring his backpack for this journey. If only his stomach didn't plead for him to bring his munchies.

"Let's just get to the theater." Mindy says while rolling her eyes at him. To their luck, an open train heading towards the direction of the theater is already ready for them. "In here."

"Ah, yes, because it'll be much less scary at the serial killer movie theater." Ethan sarcastically replies as he follows Mindy to the train. However, it proves to be much difficult than expected as the crowd becomes its own problem where they keep bumping into multiple people, their ears bleeding by horrible singers, and much else.

"Hey!" Another voice that they recognize then calls out to them just as they begin heading through the doors, prompting them to turn around and see Michael trying to make it towards them, only to get constantly blocked by other people. "Ethan! Mindy! Wait!"

"What the..." Ethan silently exclaims while trying to reach towards him, only for the people trying to get inside to keep pushing him into the train. "Michael, hey! Michael!" He tries reaching his hand out for them only to get pulled into the cart right before he can grab him, allowing the doors to shut in their faces.

"Fuck...." They can hear Michael as he punches it in annoyance. Ethan turns around to see Mindy letting go of his backpack, meaning she was the one who pulled him inside.

"What was that for?!"

"Come on, are you clueless or just that overly-trusting?" Mindy sarcastically remarks with a raised brow, to which Ethan just hums at her, confused. "We can't trust anyone when there's a killer on the loose, especially during the final act!"

"But-"

"But nothing." Mindy cuts him off, swatting her forehead in a way that calls him dumb. "Geez, what does Tara even see in you..." She remarks with a shake of her head as she walks down the car, to which Ethan mentally mocks her in his head before realizing what she just said.

"Wait, Tara's been talking about me?" Ethan excitedly asks as she turns to Mindy, realizing that she's moving down the cart.

"Hey, wait, what did she say?!"

New York: Theater

Y/N wakes up. He finds himself, still in the theater, but feeling a lot less pain than he did a few hours ago. He stands up, cranking his neck and popping a few needed bones before he checks himself out and realizes that all of the wounds he took earlier are now gone. That's.... that's impossible, isn't it? Or were those last few moments he remembers just a dream? Did something else happen? Did he just slip and hit his head? And if so, where's Trevor?

"Poor Y/N. Always so eager to play the hero."

Y/N jerks his head around, trying to figure where that voice came from, but all he really sees is darkness. He knows that voice, but that can't be possible, it didn't sound telepathic like it usually does. This one was sounded like it was in person. That's when he hears heels clicking against the floor, and he finally turns to the actual source and sees...... his sister, Piper Shaw, stepping out of the shadows. "Hey, twin bro, surprise!"

"No..." Y/N defiantly shakes his head, believing what he's seeing in front of her. The black raincoat, the hair, her eyes, the bullet hole in her forehead that's dripping blood down her face, it's all right in front of him. "You're dead, this isn't real..."

"Real or not, you've been thinking about me, haven't you? About what you did." Piper makes fun of him with a twisted grin on her face. "About how you're still doing the same thing, charging into danger, hoping for, what? That someone will finally call you a hero? That all of the rumors calling you a murderer will stop?"

Y/N his mouth to respond, only for someone else to chime in. "Oh, give the guy a break, Piper. He doesn't just want to be a hero. He wants to die a martyr." Someone states from behind Y/N, who quickly turns around, flinching, to find his brother, Seth Branson, walking up to him, fixing the collar of his suit and tie as if he's about to give a fatherly lecture. "Isn't that the point, Y/N? All this rushing in headfirst, playing the noble protector? Deep down, you're just waiting for the right moment to go out in a blaze of glory. The tragic 'good guy.' Like that one Arnold movie with the Devil, or Rambo."

"Fuck you." Y/N curses at him. "I'm not taking lectures from a guy who decided to fuck his student and then stalk her on ends because he couldn't handle being rejected by a teenager." He rejects him in a snarky tone, to which Seth snorts in response.

"Touche, but at least I didn't choose to get my hand cut off and then be left to burn alive in a random house."

"You two don't know anything about me!" Y/N yells as he points accusatory at his dead brother, only to get a hitch pitched laugh from Piper.

"Isn't it, though? Let's face it, you can't save them all, Y/N." Piper calls him out on his bullshit, circling around the James triplet like a predator stalking their prey. "You never could. So instead, you've made yourself the sacrificial lamb. Always jumping into danger, hoping that this time, it'll mean something. That maybe, just maybe, they'll remember you for more than your failures."

"Like, uh.... not saving that Sheriff you were smashing to fuel your ego." Seth brings up as a reference, hand rubbing his chin.

"Or not stopping Ghostface when Chad put Tara in the hospital." Piper adds with a mocking grin. "You're worthless, just like whatever 'sacrifice' you plan to make."

"It's like that one video where the dogs bring the smallest stick to their owner, and are super proud by it. But with you, it's just plain sad." Seth remarks with a disappointed shake of his head. "Face it. You're not doing this for them. You're doing it for you. Because the truth is, dying a hero sounds a lot easier than living with yourself."

Y/N feels line shining on him from the stage, and he looks up towards it see at least a dozen bodies being hanged by rope around their necks, though he cannot tell how the heck the knots are hanging them up. He recognizes their faces as people that died on his watch, both people here in New York, and people back in Woodsboro at the hands of Chad and Richie.

"Do you really think Sam and Tara need you? Or are you just that desperate for a purpose?" Piper softly asks him with a curious brow, humming as if actually waiting for his response. However, Y/N has his eyes closed, his head down in complete shame and guilt for what he's done and failed to do.

"Stop it...." Y/N begs as he grabs onto his head so hard, he could rip out pieces of his hair if he pulls too hard. The voices of Seth and Piper get louder and louder the more they speak, in spite of him covering his ears to block the sound.

"Who are you trying to save, Y/N? Them... or yourself?"

Y/N lets out a scream that brings every single emotion in his body. He grabs a mannequin and throws it at them, only for his two dead triplet siblings to turn into ashes the second it makes contact with them. Tears in his eyes, he shudders as he prays that the newfound silence stays....

Until another spotlight appears with a loud click. Y/N looks down the walkway to find Ghostface across from him, standing in front of the entryway that leads to the elevator, blocking him from being able to use that route. He watches as the Ghostface slowly lifts up his head, staring directly at him before slowly walking towards him, pressing his knife down at the display casings he passes, scraping the glass with his blade every time.

Then... he charges at him.

Y/N yelps as he frantically steps back as Ghostface lunges forward in super-sonic speed and swipes the knife towards him, only hitting air and also decapitating the mannequin head of Randy. "Beheadings!" Y/N notes in horror, realizing that Mindy was right. He quickly turns around and bolts it up the stage, prompting the killer to give chase, though he ends up tripping and falling on the stairs on his face.

He finds that a ripped curtain is now standing between him and the mannequins of previous killers, but he recalls them all holding their respective knives, so he rushes towards them to grab one.

However, instead of finding that on the other side, he instead finds the streets of New York waiting for him. Confused and bewildered, Y/N turns around to find that the curtains and the theater are gone, as if he's just discovered his superpower to teleport and has accidentally turned it one without reason.

It's the bitch black of night, and raining like an old Noir film. Y/N swipes his jacket and shirt of all of the droplets that are falling onto him as he looks around, before noticing that only one of the light poles on the street is working, and it's shining over a yellow taped circle of the road, surrounded by cops, members of the press, and corners. Curious, he takes a look closer and sees a familiar Latina in the center of it all, on her knees, head down. Meanwhile, everyone else who's currently still alive in New York just stand by behind the blockades, with look of sad disappointment drawn on them.

"Sammy?" Y/N calls out to her by her nickname that he loves so much, walking closer towards the crime scene. Passing by all of the onlookers and such, he then realizes with his ears that she's crying, very loudly, like something just came in, ripped out her heart, and eat it raw in front of her. "Sam?" He calls out again, much more worried, and pushes people aside until he finally sees what the problem is.

She's kneeling in front of his dead body, clinging onto him like a teddy bear that's been burned and ripped. Y/N's eyes go widen as Samantha's sobbing gets louder, more agonizing, like she's now living in a world where he doesn't exist anymore. "You were right..... I'm a monster... a monster who's now alone." He hears her whisper to him in anguish, her voice messed up from all of the tears she's shed.

"Sam, I didn't mean that" Y/N says with a shake of his head, hoping that she could hear him, but she doesn't turn her head. It's like he's some kind of ghost from that one video game staring a dead cop (Murdered: Soul Suspect). He walks over and extends his hand towards her, trying to touch her shoulder to comfort her, but then one of his legs suddenly decides to stop working.

He looks down and sees a bloody and rotten hand coming from the ground and pulling against it, rendering him stuck. "Hey..." Y/N mutters as he tries to rip his leg out of his hold, only for the zombie's hand to prove strong, that's when more pop out of the ground, creating new and new holes where hands grab him by various parts of his leg and invite him to the underworld. Baffled, the cop looks around and finds nobody, not even Sam, noticing what's happening to him, even more like Soul Suspect with the demon hands.

"No! NO!" Y/N screams defiantly as he tries to break out, able to resist until the heads that belong to those hands then come out of the surface, revealing the zombies of everyone's he's let down. Wes, Liv, Anika, Judy, Dewey, Vince, Amber, the bodega customers and cashier, and more. He desperately tries pushing them away, even reaching towards Sam as a last cry for help. "NOOOOOOO!"

But eventually, they pull him underground.

Then, after a few seconds of being in the void, a bright light shines in his face with another click, and Y/N blinks rapidly for a few seconds as his eyes adjust. Once they do, he finds himself staring at the ceiling, and that the light belonged to a hanging lamp. He tries standing up, but find finds himself unable to moved, wrapped in tarp and fully naked underneath it.

Footsteps echo around him as they get closer, and Y/N looks up towards it, only for his neck to only stretch so far. Eventually though, a scary figure walks into view. It isn't Ghostface staring down at him, though.....

It's the Lakewood Slasher.

Panic now rushing through his veins, Y/N begins to struggle with the tarp in a desperate attempt to break free. The Lakewood slasher just tilts his head as he watches him do so with some possible amusement behind the void behind his eye holes. He pulls out his hunting knife and raises it up to deliver a killing blow on his heart.

However, Y/N's hand that is close to him snaps out of the weak tarp, allowing him to swiftly reach over and rip the mask off..... revealing his own face behind it. This makes him freeze as his doubleganger looks down at him with a sanguine grin on his face.

"It ends with you."

He then brings the knife down...

......

...........

......

And Y/N wakes up, finding himself back in the chair on the center of the stage, bound by his feet and wrists, and his wounds that he's suffered.

He's doomed.

New York: Subway

Back on the train, the situation isn't much better. The two are now reaching the point of the brief light situation, and thanks to massive mistrust within the group, unlike the other couples who are sticking by each other, they are somewhat separated due to the ruthless crowd. Even though they all share the same cart, they are forced to stay at least six feet minimum from each other.

Mindy glances at Ethan who awkwardly gives her a small wave despite the obvious pointed look he's getting from her, guess she'll still be suspicious of someone, no matter what. Obviously, her squinting indicates that she's pretty much waiting for them to make a murderous move, even more so thanks to the lights. But, in the end, it won't be that easy. Seeing all the Ghostface killers on their train puts her on even higher alert mode.

It doesn't help that they have ten stops to go through before they finally get to the damn theater district, time that allows new people to join the ride and new Ghostface masks to infect the train and prepare to infect someone with their parasitic symbiosis.

During one of the stops, Mindy around the cart she's in, and accidently makes eye contact with someone in a Ghostface costume. However, she doesn't break it, and neither does he. The stare down continues for a few good minutes until she blinks, and the person in the mask is gone. She must be losing it.

At one point, her phone chimes in as she pulls it out to see a text from Kirby.

Kirby: U on the train?

Mindy side-glances at Ethan before replying.

You: Yes w Ethan, though I don't trust him rn, Tara crush or not.

She presses send, but the phone clearly shows a hard time of doing that as it stays on sending for more than a second. Mindy squints, trying to get signal back to her phone while Ethan's eyes stay pointed directly at her, his expression suddenly blankest than ever.

Realizing that there's no point, Mindy sighs and just tucks her phone back in her pocket. During which, a figure in a Ghostface costume steps towards her, much to her unnoticed. Before she knows it, the stranger lunches at her.... before laughing as Mindy jumps in fright, frustratedly sighing as she moves somewhere else. "Sorry!" The masked passenger says before taking a seat.

Mindy now leans her back on the opposite side of the train with a sigh, where she spots Ethan trying to watch her still, to which she gives him a nasty look, prompting him to awkwardly look away. However, she catches something at the bottom her eye. Looking down, she sees another Ghostface wearing stranger sitting down, their head down while their posture is as still as rocks.

Mindy gets another sense of unease as she briefly stares at him.

After Mindy, and Ethan's train continues on from its last stop, a group of the newcomers prove to be very insistent on standing with one another, so much that they bump shoulders with Mindy and practically force her away from their little group. "Hey, fuck you...." Mindy whispers as she's forced to the back of the train, Ethan leaning from his respective side to get a better look as he now loses sight of her.

With her back once again on the window, Mindy scans all of the passengers in front of her, some sitting, some standing, though all of them don't seem to be paying much attention to her. That is, until the next small black out. As Mindy keeps her suspicious eye on the Ghostface, the second the lights are back on, their head is now looking at her direction.

Mindy takes a big swallow, the now much more frequent light switching is now making her more and more weary. However, there's not much she can do in a space like this, which is definitely the scariest part. When the lights come back on again, the masked passenger is standing, still staring straight at her. Now, she feels her breathing getting uneven. During another one, a few passengers start laughing as they share a joke between themselves, however, it feels more like they're laughing at Mindy right now... at her terror.

Now, the lights get even worse. As the train reaches the center of the tunnel, this particular black out goes on for about thirty seconds, during which, Mindy can only see the figure moving out of view from their original spot, but not where they went. The laughing continues, echoing across the entire train. Mindy tries scanning for a possible moving shadow, but even the lights of the train tunnel can't help her. The lights flick back on... and the person's gone, the only Ghostface Mindy sees is the one on the other train, staring through the window.

Then, comes another, lights go off, though lasting much quicker than the last one.

As they flick back on.... the Ghostface is right in front of her.

Before she can react, the killer has their hand on her mouth and blade in her stomach. Mindy's muffled screams go unnoticed by the sleeping duo and headphone wearing hummer sitting next to her. Ghostface is clearly trying to now make it look like they're either whisper amongst each other, or doing something else with their mouths as no other passengers notice her from where they're standing... not even Ethan. Mindy can feel and hear her heartbeat thumping as she grunts and groans under the killer's glove, her resistance earning her another stab from the killer, who the twists it around, letting it scratch her guts. She whimpers as she slinks to the ground, the killer keeping their eye on her the whole way through.

The train then reaches its next stop, as well as the group's destination. Once he hears that they've made it to the theater district, Ghostface then pulls the knife out, exiting the train with the rest of the other passengers and leaving Mindy bloody and week on the train.

Ethan, still unable to see what the hell's going on due to all of these people, is finally able to have the crowd clearing away as a huge chunk of them exits the train. And thankfully, that's when he sees Mindy slumped against the back of the last cart, bleeding from her stomach. "Oh, shit, shit." He silently exclaims with wide eyes as he quickly plows through people to get to her. "Mindy! Fuck! Fuck!" He swears as the idiots keep blocking his way, still not noticing that someone is dying. "Mindy, fuck, fuck, fuck, that's a lot of blood." He comments as he kneels down in front of her, trying to help apply pressure, but he knows that a cut that deep won't last for long. "Help! Somebody, help!" He loudly screams, finally getting people's attention, as the sleeping couple wakes up, and the nodding guy takes off his headphones, all seeing the blood covering Mindy's lap. "Fuck, we gotta get you out of here, okay?"

He grabs Mindy and lifts her up to her feet. "Oh, fuck!" Mindy screams as the process of standing up hurts even more than when she was lifted up onto a gurney by paramedics in Woodsboro. "Damn it... " She groans as Ethan helps her out of the train and next to the pillar of their stop where he lets him rest against one of the pillars.

"Shit, somebody call 911!" Ethan pleadingly yells out to the crowd, drawing everyone's attention towards them. People look over, some pulling out their phones while the silent guy keeps applying pressure to Mindy's gut, doing the best he can with only two hands and a basic knowledge of medical practice. "Fuck, I wish Emily was here for this shit..."

"Holy shit, is she bleeding?!" Speak of the devil, Ethan looks up after hearing her voice and sees her in her slutty cabwoman costume amongst the crowd, she drops her cat tail and rushes over to sit downright next to him in front of Mindy. "W-W-What the hell happened?!"

"Ghostface stabbed her! She needs help!" Ethan relays the situation to her as he hopes that she can put some of those lessons to good use.

"O-O-O-Okay, u-um..." Emily nervously swallows before doing what she can for her, she provides a more effective method of putting pressure onto Mindy's wound while Ethan holds the girl comfortingly. "This should last her a long time until an ambulance gets here."

"Your timing's grand, Em." Ethan remarks with a sigh of relief, before comfortingly gripping Mindy's shoulder. "Are you okay? Please tell me you're okay, Tara will kill me otherwise."

"Yeah, I'm so good..." Mindy sarcastically responds to his moronic question with a pained moan.

"You're gon-You're gonna be okay! You hear me? You're gonna be okay!" Ethan tells her repeatedly, though he might possibly just be saying that to prevent himself from getting a heart attack in her name. "DID ANYONE CALL FOR HELP?!"

"Fuck, I can't believe I let myself get stabbed again...." Mindy tells Ethan in a weak voice to which the boy turns back to her sweaty face. "You know, I honestly thought that you were Michael's partner during all of this." She confesses to the guy, who blinks at her when he hears what she's telling him.

"No, not this quiet kid...." Ethan humorously replies with a shaky laugh, glad to be doing so while stressing out so much. "I still got a lot of things to live for." He tells her with a grin, promising that he's not a Ghostface. He guesses it isn't that far-fetched, being around while Michael dawns the mask who give him a good reason for the others to trust him and provide an easy means to manipulate them all. But, maybe in an alternate reality where he was apart of Richie Kirsch's family who wanted his revenge from his death in the last movie. Not this timeline, though.

They then hear rapid footsteps approaching and look up to see staff members finally arriving to the scene. "Help! She needs help!" Emily frantically tells them, prompting one of them to grab their walkie talkie and call for medical assistance. Ethan, now able to breathe a little easier, gives Mindy a hopeful nod while she still writhes in pain.

"Fuck this franchise..."

New York: Theater

After time of driving with the sirens on, they finally make it to the theater. Thank the lord, too, because it was starting to feel like they were moving in slow-mo despite breaking the speed by like forty. They practically jump themselves out as they find one section unreachable until they run around and find an open door at the back, already unlocked and welcoming them inside due to someone having already gone through it.

Most likely, Y/N and Trevor.

They find the same elevator they did, and come to the same conclusion that they'll need to go down there to find the same theater screen that they went down to. Entering, pressing the button, and then having to wait for it go all the way down as it shakes and what-not comes to be very stressful. Tara looks over and can see Sam whispering something to herself with closed eyes, begging for good news at their destination. She can already tell that her brain is forcing her to imagine Y/N with his throat slit and insides on the outside.

She can definitely sympathize with her on that.

The second the elevator settles down at their floor and opens the doors, the two quickly run out, trying to look around and figure out their new environments quickly as possible. "Come on, where is he....?" Tara wonders out loud in a panicked voice, Sam feeling the same thing as her. They then enter the massive room, displaying all of the trophies that Ghostface has collected throughout the last couple of years.

Then, out of the blue, the big screen slowly comes down in front of them, and the projector from up above plays its current feature film onto it. Sam and Tara watch as they eventually recognize the family videos from their time, back when they were all one big happy family, before the Billy Loomis reveal, before Sam went into her mother's diaries, got into drugs, and left... the good old days.

Also, in front of that screen, on top of the stage, tied up to a chair, is the man they came here to find. "Y/N!" Sam calls out to him in a very emotional voice, not wasting a single second before running over to the man she wants out as desperately as possible. Tara obviously follows her lead, and the two rip off his tape and get to work removing the rope and such. "Y/N, please wake up..." Sam begs as she lightly shakes the cop's body, only for it to not show much response. "Babe, please.... please... wake up.... please wake up and call me Sammy, again... please..."

As if hearing that nickname summoned some kind of spell, Y/N's eyes blink and he begins to awake with a small groan. "Oh my gosh..." Tara quietly utters in a relieved voice, sharing a look with Sam as they both shakingly laugh. This encourages them to get the binds undone faster.

"Wh......what....?" Y/N moans as he looks around, finding himself back in the real world once again, possibly after having yet another nightmare sequence involving her. "Sam? Sammy?" He eventually recognizes her, and Sam rapidly nods in confirmation with a tearful grin.

"Yes, It's us, Tara's here too, see?" Sam tells him, prompting the guy who look over and see Tara on the other side of him. They finally get the last rope free, and lift the guy up to his feet, though he requires the help of both of them to walk properly without possibly stumbling on air. "Come on, we're getting you out of here." She assures him as they attempt to carry him back to the elevator.

"No.... no!" Y/N shakes his head while talking in a panicked voice. "Ghostface, he's here. It's a trap!" He tells them in a now awake and freaked out voice, the two continue on anyway, hoping that it's not the case before something interrupts their escape attempt.

Gunshots echo throughout the area, prompting the trio to freeze as they hear footsteps that are not their own approaching the area. They turn back to the stage to see Kirby Reed coming up from a suspiciously unlikely direction, bleeding from her head. "It's okay!" She tells them in a slightly disoriented voice, waving her gun around.

"Stay the fuck back!" Sam barks as Kirby hobbles down the steps, prompting all of them to back away, still not knowing who the trust at this bizarre hour where everyone has the perfect opportunity to dawn the mask. "We can't trust you!"

Kirby, semi-out of breath, stammers as she tries giving a response, clearly more confused than they are right now. "The killer... knocked me out." She manages to tell them, the blood on her face does support it, but after seeing all the shit killers go through to fake their innocence, The three still needs a moment to process what's happening.

"Kirby, stop!" Wayne Bailey shouts as he jogs inside, now also having made it to the theater. "Get away from them!" He orders as he marches over and points his gun at Kirby, acting like he's just realized that she's the killer.

"What are you doing?" Kirby shakenly questions as she raises her weapon at him in response. The two now stay at a standoff with Sam, Y/N and Tara potentially caught in the crossfire. At this moment, where emotions are clearly running high with everyone, even the well-known survivors look suspicious.

"I just got the call from the Atlanta Offices, they've told me everything, you psychopathic liar!" Wanye aggressively tells her as he keeps the gun pointed at her, his hands shaking. "You've been on a downward spiral since the last Woodsboro murders, and you were fired from the FBI a year prior to now!" He calls her out, prompting the other three to stare at her in shock.

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"Did you kill Quinn?" Wayne questions her, looking at Kirby with red in his eyes. "DID YOU KILL MY DAUGHTER?!"

"Jesus Christ!" Kirby exclaims, finding the entire accusation as crazy as Ghostface himself. She then looks at the trio. "Whatever he's been saying to you, don't listen to him." She tells them, now looking at Wayne with her own glare. "He's probably the killer."

Then... Ghostface pops out and charges towards the detective. "BEHIND YOU!" Kirby shouts as a warning, but instead, Wayne, still running by his grief, just centers his aim and shoots her, putting three bullets in her chest.

However, that proves to be a fatal mistake, as Ghostface then stabs him in the back, causing Wayne to let out a loud scream before the killer wraps an arm around his chest. The detective tries to fight back, but his attacker is quick as puts his blade against his throat, before swiping away brutally.

Wayne shakes uncontrollably as blood pours out of his neck like a showerhead, getting some of it onto the killer's old mask. Ghostface holds him that position for a few seconds before theatrically dropping him in front of the trio, hoping that this means he's got their attention. "You and your sister are fast, Sam." Ghostface remarks as he takes a few steps towards them, prompting them to step back. "I didn't even get to chase you around the block party before you showed up."

"Who are you?" Sam asks the million-dollar question, and Ghostface who swipes the blood off his knife with a sharp shink, is now ready to give her the answer to that prize.

He slowly and teasingly takes off his mask before dropping it to the floor, allowing them soak it in.

It's Jim, Trevor's cameraman.

"What the fuck?" Y/N silently exclaims, obviously knowing his face since he's met him a couple. Jim stares blankly at him in response, before pulling out the voice changer from his mask and putting it up to his mouth.

"Surprise, kids." He quips, speaking in Ghostface's voice one more time before throwing the device away.

Y/N is baffled, but then he glances over and sees that Sam's face shows more shock than he carries, Tara as well. They all look like they've been hit with a massive case of PTSD.

Tara examines his face for a second longer, before finally uttering the word.

"Dad?"

(A/N) Finally, the reveal!

This was not supposed to be this long, it was just supposed to end at the Train segment, but I wanted to once again drop you with a massive cliff hanger before the last chapter. And also, the theater section will include a lot of the chase and stuff from the original, just that this sequence of events will play in a slightly different beat than in the movie.

Also, yes, this means that Quinn actually died in the apartment, no stupid body-swap explanation here. The killer was only one person this entire time.

Anyway, plz vote and comment, any counts as feedback, and I'll see you all in the next one!
