three-way date

─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───

fifi waited in an empty classroom and watched as syd and stan ran to the principal's office. once they were securely in, mr whitaker started walking towards the door. from the opposite classroom, dina was waving her hands about - trying to get fifi's attention. the dark-skinned girl nodded before unlocking the door and quietly running out.

once she was out of sight and had checked there was no cameras her way - something syd should have done, fifi manipulated ice from the atmosphere to knock some chairs and tables over, producing a loud noise. she then raced around, making sure she went the opposite way and ended up back where she way.

with a sigh of satisfaction, she sat against the lockers and waited for the rest of them. first came dina who sat to her right, then stan and finally syd who sat on her left.

stan kissed the USB in relief, "i thought we were screwed."

"you don't believe in yourself?" fifi asked him.

"not for a second."

"we were screwed, but holy shit, we did it." dina grinned causing them to laugh.

"thank you, guys." syd smiled, "seriously."

"oh..." stan reached into his pocket and pulled his infamous mini silver box, "any takers?"

"you're not serious." dina smirked.

"oh, yeah." stan placed the roll into his mouth while pulling out a lighter.

dina laughed as syd placed it in her mouth, "since when do you smoke weed?"

"oh, come on, dina." syd smiled, "everyone's doing it. don't you wanna be cool like me and stan?"

"peer pressure is not a joke." fifi smriked as dina took it.

the duo giggled as she inhaled the drug.

"come on fee." dina passed it to her.

"just this once, but remember -"

"weed is bad for the soul." syd and stan said in sync.

fifi rolled her eyes before placing the roll into her mouth and breathing in. she promptly coughed, effecting in the three laugh at her. stan petted her back as she choked.

"how do you feel?" syd asked.

"never been better."

─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───

fifi had her head resting on stan's lap as he played with his rubix cube. she had been staring at the ceiling - faded after taking a few more hits of stan's roll.

dina and brad burst out the locker room, dina was infuriated and brad seemed guilty.

"babe, wait, please. syd's lying." brad yelled, "i swear to God. please! she's lying!"

dina ignored him and walked straight passed mr whitaker, out the door.

"you're not seriously breaking up with me!" brad finished.

"hey! which one of you punks eats burritos?" mr whitaker announced.

stan looked down at fifi who has a smile on her face.

"all right, i don't know what the hell went on tonight, but i wanna see everyone in my office first thing in the morning!" the principal yelled before exiting the room.

brad turned to syd, "i offered you a truce, and you fucked it up. this is on you. you remember that."

"oh, shut up." fifi laughed out loud.

brad scowled at her before stomping out.

"ah, another day in paradise." jenny came out the locker room with her arms crossed, "so, you guys wanna get wasted?"

"what is wrong with you?"

jenny shrugged as she sauntered away.

"okay, so now that we've helped you steal the evidence that would put you in detention for a thousand years, can you tell us what happened in the library?" stan quizzed.

fifi was laying in the back seat as she always did while syd sat in the front.

"no, you'll think i'm crazy." syd shook her head.

"i mean, to be fair, i've seen you move shit with your mind and aofie make ice with her hands so crazy feels like a few notches down." stan joked.

"you can tell us anything, you know that right?" fifi sat up.

"okay... the lights were flickering, but it wasn't me." syd explained, "i don't know, i... it just felt like someone else was in there with me."

"well, what do you mean?" stan questioned.

"i mean, it felt like i was supposed to follow it, or maybe it was following me." syd described, "i don't know. i just couldn't make it out. i turned a corner, and it was gone, but there was this feeling. i swear i wasn't alone."

"so... who the hell was it?" stan inquired.

"i wish i fucking knew."

"this whole thing is so messed up." fifi sighed.

─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───

"and where have you been?" chris asked his daughter as she fumbled into the house.

"you know..." she threw her bag down, "the usual."

"detention is the usual?" chris raised his brow.

"um... n-no?"

"what happened?" chris interrogated.

"it was crazy." fifi explained, "mr file was like who else wants detention and i was like you're a hypocrite and then i said a swear word and he gave me detention."

"is that so?" chris shook his head, "you cussed a teacher? what has gotten into you?"

"weed-" fifi confessed, but her speech was muffled as a hand went over her mouth.

"what was that?" chris asked.

"so sorry dad, but effs promised to help me with my homework." isaak lied.

"alright, son." chris ruffled his hair, "this isn't over aofie."

"thanks dad." fifi smiled at him before isaak dragged her up the stairs and into his room, "what is this?"

he pushed her back and she fell onto the bed.

"hey!"

a bright light was shone into fifi's face as isaak forcefully opened her eyelids.

"get off me." fifi shoved him back.

"i knew it." isaak grinned, "you're high."

"was." fifi corrected him, "i was. what are you going to do about it?"

isaak stared at her, trying to think of something, "nothing."

"exactly."

"how did you feel?" isaak asked.

"it was okay at first but not as good as you might think." fifi groaned, "that's why you're never going to do it."

"you don't tell me what to do." isaak scoffed as he sat on his desk chair.

"i'm older." she stated, she had won that battle.

─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───

lunch the next day, stan had dragged fifi to sit with syd. the hot-headed girl sat in front of her food tray, staring at dina.

"okay, syd. whitaker's got nothing on us, all right? don't sweat it." stan reassured her, "which is why i'm telling you we should just go to the dance with aofie and i, right?"

"right." fifi sceptically agreed even though she never said yes to stan.

"we could all do something before, or something after. a movie, if you want."

"mmm."

"because i'm down for anything. we could just go to have fun, do the funky chicken, drink some punch." stan continued.

fifi laughed, "what?"

"you know, we could just give it all a big, proper go." stan concluded.

"so a three-way date?" fifi grimaced.

"sorry, what?" syd finally paid attention.

"um... homecoming. fifi and i are already going together but you could join, this weekend." stan told her.

"oh, i don't know, stan." syd groaned, "i've got a lot of shit on my mind, plus fifi said she never agreed to go with you."

"syd!"

stan's face fell," yeah, okay. so we won't go. we could just go do somethin else."

"like?" syd asked.

"like...we can... test your powers again?" stan suggested.

fifi groaned loudly and hid her face in her hands.

"oh, no, let's definitely do that, cause that went great." syd rolled her eyes.

"well, i-i'm just thinkin it might help you feel a little..." stan droned off.

syd sighed, "feel what?"

"a little more... in control." stan confessed, "l-like aofie, like if you maybe wanted to feel like you could defend yourself if some creepy guy really is following you?"

"oh, you actually have a good idea for once." fifi nodded.

"oh! just when i thought i couldn't be any more paranoid." syd sarcastically clapped, "stanley barber and aofie jenkins, ladies and gentlemen."

stan scoffed as fifi frowned, "what is with you today? i mean, i'm-i'm used to you being a dick, but this is like a whole new level."

"what is with me is i have bigger shit to worry about than hurting your fucking feelings!" syd snapped as her milk carton shook.

"Jesus, syd." fifi looked at her in fear.

"oh, fuck off aofie." syd huffed.

"so much for being my first proper friend." fifi thought.

"right, we'll just go to the dance by ourselves, then?" stan challenged.

"stan, i do not care." syd told him.

"you-you don't care?"

"nope." syd gave him a blank stare.

"at all?" stan tested.

"no."

"then you won't mind if we leave you out?"

"i want you to."

"fine."

"okay, we will." fifi nodded as stan grabbed his lunch.

the duo walked over and sat somewhere else, syd's eyes glued to them.
