stoner stanley

─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───

aofie jenkins walked down her road in annoyance - her little brother was quite irritating.

her bare shoulders were a barrier to cold air, nevertheless, she walked through it like it were nothing.

she strolled forward and no idea what was happening around her because she was too into her music. her white earphones protected her ears from the outside world yet projected music into them.

her black boots clamped onto the ground as she climbed the two stairs of the yellow school bus. she walked down the aisle with her head up, glancing at everyone.

aofie took a seat near the back and placed her bag on the other one. she bopped her head as her favourite songs played through her mind.

"hello?" sydney novak repeated from behind the girl.

that was the fifth time sydney had said that not knowing the dark-skinned girl had earphones in.

a tap on aofie's back is what caught her attention. she quickly turned around and was face to face with the smaller red-head.

"sorry." she started as she peeled her earphones out, "couldn't hear you."

"it's fine." sydney sighed.

"is everything okay?" aofie asked.

"i-i just... sorry have we met?" sydney's face scrunched up.

"it's aofie, from mr file's science." she introduced herself.

"oh." sydney looked away in embarrassment, "right..."

"it's fine." aofie sighed, placing her earphones back in.

"no wait." sydney quickly stopped her.

"yeah?" aofie asked, coming off slightly rude.

"how are you sitting here without a jumper?" sydney questioned, "it's freezing."

"the cold doesn't really bother me." aofie shrugged, "is that all novak?"

"mhm." sydney nodded while eyeing her.

the girl began feeling bad, "do you want to sit next to me?" aofie offered.

"sure." sydney hummed as she gathered her things to take the seat next to her, "why not?"

as the two girls rode the bus to westinghouse memorial high school together, they talked the whole way.

aofie smiled at her new friend as she told her about her family.
"how old did you say your brother was?" sydney laughed.

"he's 15." aofie told him, "and he seems to be a chick magnet."

sydney smiled, "mines 11, he's a great brother."

"as much as i hate to say it." aofie grimaced, "isaak is my best friend."

"i get it." sydney nodded as the bus came to a halt.

"go on." aofie motioned her to go first.

syd stood up and walked behind all the other kids. they travelled in a single-file like out of the bus. a few thanked the driver but others stayed quiet.

once aofie stepped off the bus, a cold draft hit her but it was relaxing instead of startling.

"still not cold?" sydney asked.

aofie grinned, "doesn't bother me."

the two walked into the school side-by-side in quite an awkward silence.

"i'll see you after form." aofie told her new friend as she reached her pale-green locker.

"bye." sydney waved before trekking off.

the second aofie opened her locker, a book from the previous day dropped out.

"oh." a boy crouched to the floor and grabbed the book, "here."

aofie didn't even have to look at him to tell that he was the scrawny, stoner - stanley barber. or perhaps she could tell by his abnormally cool hair.

she rolled her eyes as she took the book from his hands, "thanks." the bitterness in her voice has stanley shocked.

"so aofie jenkins... what lesson have you got first?" stanley made conversation.

"it's ee-fah not ay-o-fee." aofie corrected him, "and i have english with mr smears."

"right... sorry." stanley scratched his neck in embarrassment.

no words were exchanged as aofie took out a book and slammed her locker shut. she expected stanley to walk away but he just watched her intently.

"goodbye stanley." aofie raised her eyebrow before walking away.

stanley sighed as his eyes followed her figured walk off.

it was now lunch, aofie had made her way to the lunch queue. she tapped her foot in anticipation and could sense a pair of eyes on her.

she pivoted around and saw bradley lewis staring at her. "yes?" aofie glared at him, it was no secret the girl despised him.

all he did was smiled and laugh.

"weirdo." she muttered while grabbing a pale-green plastic lunch tray.

the lunch lady gave her a mean sneer before plopping mashed potatoes on her plate, then some waxed green beans and finally brown looking sweet corn.

one look at her bland food, aofie gagged internally. she picked up her slightly heavy plate and weaved her way through the students to find a place to sit.

an empty table near the back was calling her name, so she sat on it once she reached it. after a few minutes of staring her food, aofie pushed it to the side in disgust.

"hi aofie." stanley made sure to say her name slowly, not wanting to make any mistakes.

"fifi is just fine." aofie concluded, since the boy still mispronounced her name.

"great." stanley grinned as he pulled out his a wrapped sandwich, "do you want half?"

"are they edibles?" aofie asked, knowing the boy's status at the school.

stanley laughed loudly, "no. just a sandwich."

"uh." aofie hesitated, "sure."

she watched as stanley tore the bread in half and handed her the bigger one.

"thanks." aofie slightly smiled.

"school lunch is disgusting." stanley shrugged.

"i agree." aofie nodded.

"so..." stanley stared in an attempt to make conversation, "homecoming is near."

"right." aofie took a bite of the sandwich, "i guess."

"are you going with anyone?" stanley asked the girl.

"actually..." aofie stated, "i might not go."

"what? why not?" stanley quizzed.

"looks boring." she bleakly told him.

"oh..." stanley looked away.

"thanks for the sandwich stanley." aofie stood up and picked her full plate up.

"you're welcome?"

"but i've got to go." she told him.

"oh uh, i'll see you later?" stanley spoke.

"hmm." aofie walked over to the bin and dumped her food into it.

"that's a waste of food." bradley smirked from behind her.

"you're a waste of space." aofie scoffed, "are you following me?"

"this is a bin, don't get cocky." bradley grimaced.

aofie rolled her eyes before walking off and making sure to harshly hit his shoulder as she left.

"and yes, during arousal, there is an increase in all sorts of things, including adrenaline and, of course, blood flow." mr file pointed to the male anatomy diagram with his wooden stick, "and the blood flow continues down and then gets trapped within the corpora cavernosa."

aofie was sat on the right of bradley lewis with her head on the table in exhaustion.

"the penis expands, and this is how the homo sapien male is able to hold an erection." mr file concluded.

bradley's hand shot up, eager to get a joke in.

"yes." mr file pointed at the brunette boy, allowing him to share his thoughts.

"from my experience, mr file," bradley started with a smirk, "the holding of an erection is far more successful in the hands of a homo sapien female."

mild stiffled laughter was heard from some of the students but sydney and aofie had an unamused look on their faces.

"very funny, mr lewis." mr file sighed.

"just talkin' science." bradley grinned.

"moving on... when a female gets sexually excited there is also increased blood flow to the genitals..." his voice drowned out as bradley's best friend began speaking to sydney.

"aww, come on fire crotch." richard berry spoke, "laugh. that was funny."

sydney stared at them blankly as the two boys snickered before sharing a handshake.

"...proceeds to swell." mr file's voice got louder, "why is all this happening? your scrotum looks different than others. that's an asymmetrical scrotum. having one is not at all unusual."

sitting in front of aofie was her favourite classmate and sydney's best friend - dina. she turned around and smiled at aofie before grinning at sydney.
