Unexpected Events
I ran for what seemed to be hours. I didn't slowdown at all because I didn't want them to catch me. The first terrain was desert, then it soon changed to forest. I finally had to stop when I fell to the ground exhausted. I look at the sky to realize the sun was setting. I smiled and watched it, but frown when I realized that it was getting dark.
I stood up and started to climb a tree. I hull my exhausted body up the tree. I found a large branch to sleep on. I wasn't going to sleep on the ground for the fear of wolves. I may be able to come back, but dying isn't fun. And I wasn't going to started a fire that might alert someone of my presence. I sighed as I got comfortable.
I looked up at the dark sky fill with stars. I stared in awe. A shooting star dashed across. I made a wish to see my old friends again. I laughed to myself at my silliness. "That'll never happened...they probably moved on..." I yawned as slowly began to fall asleep.
I opened up my eyes to early morning sunshine. I stretched and sat up. I realized that the tree was comfier then the bed at the foundation. I slowly start to climb down, but stop. I look up. If I can get higher, maybe I can see a town, I think to myself. I climb to the top of the tree.
At the top, I see mostly trees, but I see where the forest meets the desert. In the distance, I see something shiny. I squint to see better. It was a water tower. That usually means a town! I felt myself smile. I shimmy down the tree carefully. I sprinted off in the direction of the water tower.
It took my awhile to get to the town. It was farther away then I thought it was. It was also bigger then it looked too. It was a full blown city. I slow down my run to a easy jog when I got on to the sidewalks. I felt a pang of home sickness. It reminded me so much of my old home. I went deeper into the city. I started to recognize more building as I went farther down the street. Wait...is this my old home? The only way to be sure is...I ran down an alleyway and turned a corner.
I was surprised to say the least. I told in front of Superhero High. I am in my old home. I ran into a alley way and leaned against a wall. I felt dizzy suddenly. This was to much for my brain to handle right now. I was close to my home the whole time. The whole time...I slid down the wall. I hugged my knees in comfort. I was trying to process what happen.
Yesterday I escaped from the foundation that was holding me there for almost two years. Then I stumbled upon my home that I grew up in. What are the chances of that happening? I sitting there for a few more minutes just thinking.
I decided to go check out my old house. I stood up, brushing myself off. I walked out of the alleyway, getting on to the sidewalk. I start to walk towards my old home. My walk turned into a spirit. I ran till I reached my old doorstep. I looked at the building. It looked abandoned.
I decided to knock on the door anyway. There was no answer. I tried the door to find it was unlocked. I walked into the house. It was empty and dirty. I looked in every room to find nothing. I walked up the stairs to my old room. It was empty like every other room in the house. I collapsed on to the middle of the floor.
I started to have flashbacks. I remember went me and my parents used to watch tv together. When my friends came over to play. When my siblings and I would fight with each other. With each memory, the more alone I felt. I soon saw drops of water fall to the floor, only to realize I was crying. I hugged myself, trying to calm down.
A 17-year old boy who feels so alone and lost, that what I am. I need to get a grip on myself. I wish Kay was here, She would be able to help me. I take a deep breath in and breath out slowly. I do this a few more times before I stop crying. I just sitting there hugging myself.
I was still sitting there, when I heard voices from outside. I got up to see who it was. As I crept down the stairs, the voices sounded familiar. I peeked out a window. My eyes widen at who was outside. I pinched myself just to make sure it was true.
Standing there was my old friends, Austin, Ritchie, and Michael. They were in school uniforms and talking to each other. I listen in on their conversation.
"Ritchie, why are we here? I don't like being here since...." Michael trailed off.
"We're here to look for clues. Maybe we can figured out why Mario when missing."
"But his family moved soon after he disappeared. How would there be any clues?" Austin argues.
"We can use our powers! Michael can turn into a dog and track his scent. I have his sock you can use to trace the sent." Ritchie pulls out an old smelly sock.
"Dude! How long have you had that thing? I can smell it from here." Austin gags.
"I had since Mario disappeared. It was from a sleep over we had recently. I never had a chance to give it back to him."
"I guess I could try, I mean it would hurt anything." Micheal turned into a dog much to my surprise. He went over to Ritchie to sniff the sock. I realized that this was bad. I couldn't leave since they were blocking the only exit. All I could think about is what they're going to think of me.
I watched as Michael sniff the sock and started smelling the ground. "That's...odd." Michael said.
"What's odd?" Austin asked.
"His scent is fresh here. It goes into the house." I knew I was screwed.
