SCP 3914: The Steam Man Band

*A/N: inspired by Steam Powered Giraffe*

Item: SCP 3914

Item Name: The Steam Man Band

Objected Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All personnel are allowed to interact with the subjects, and are allowed to roam freely in the daylight unless they have been provoked and angry in which case they must be kept in their cell. They must also be powered off at night or if featuring low power -when they will show signs of drowsiness and slurred speech- and placed in their respective charging stations to preserve their power. Water and oil should be replaced and their check-ups should be conducted monthly at a minimum. Any repairs or check-ups need to be conducted by personnel experienced in engineering or technological repair such as robotics or IT repair, to reduce errors that could potentially damage SCP-3914.
The stationary, books, instruments and other objects are allowed to be purchased by all staff at their own expense and time, the merchandise bought are enjoyed and used by the SCP subjects, but the room is required to have at least basic furniture such as a table and three sturdy chairs, a bookcase, drawers and of course the three electrical charging stations on which the subjects appear to 'sleep' at night.

Description: The subjects appear to be a trio of sentient male animatronics or automatons. Robot men being the more common term to describe the trio. All three of them stand at different heights and possess different pitches in their normal speaking voices as well as singing vocals, generating an appealing three-part harmony, the cores on their chests appearing to be shatterproof glass containing glowing white fluid within.
All three appear to be very comedic and friendly most of the time whether talking to each other or the staff, engaging in conversations or joking with anyone interacting with them (the trio are able to speak English as well as many other languages, including Japanese), speaking with American accents that differ slightly from each other due to the pitch and simulated sounds they exude. In low light levels, their glass and bulb optics glow green, blue and amber.
However, if they are provoked or annoyed, they are known to argue with the personnel or each other, or even snap irritably at the person talking to them. Their eyes and core will glow red to the point it will be able to stun or potentially blind a person if they stare directly at the flashes of light. The bodies of the SCPs will notably twitch and tick, their expressions will become scowls and angry glares. Electrical surges have been reported to flicker through their hands, all three grouping together if they have all been provoked as if to protect each other from danger, arming themselves with whatever is to hand if the electrical surges are absent. Though they have not been noted to attack yet, they have the potential to attack anyone who further provokes them with possible absence of remorse.

SCP 3914-A stands over 6 feet tall, possibly measuring up to almost 7 feet tall, and is constructed with strong silver-coloured metal. The hands exhibit long and deft fingers, and the facial features include thick black brows, a masculine facial structure, and he is known to be the owner of the green eyes with black rings around them to resemble raccoon eyes. His hair is black and neatly styled, hidden by a black pork-pie Stetson with a red ribbon around the circumference. Additionally, he is dressed in formal black three-piece suit with red buttons on the blazer and waistcoat, and a red necktie. His voice is a baritone, SCP 3914-A appearing to have the calmer and more collected personality out of the band of three, being the one to try and keep them from trouble.

SCP 3914-B is the shortest, standing around 5'9, and contains the baby blue eyes. His build is made of white gold with long black lashes on the eyes that make them appear larger and more innocent. His design of the facial features is simplistic, the eyes being the first thing their audience tends to notice, his lips are plump and coloured black, seemingly rubber as opposed to the silicone mouths of the others.
SCP 3914-B's clothing choices is less formal, dressing in a red shirt and white suspenders connecting to black dress pants, black finger-less gloves with rips at the hems, and red laced shoes resembling low-top trainers, a black newsboy cap on top of his shaggy blonde curls.
The particular subject's voice is usually of a soothing yet innocent voice which harbours a soprano/alto pitch.
His personality appears to be more childish and thoughtful, not easily as provoked as his comrades, and possesses a loving and playful demeanour around any personnel, especially children.

Lastly, SCP 3914-C is by far the most energetic and confident one out of the robotic trio, being the culprit of the optics that glow amber, being built with copper and random silver plating to resemble the markings of the twelve, six, three and nine on a clock, the face containing slight oxidised patches on the forehead, jawline and 'cheekbones', and silver Cupid's Bow lips. His voice sounds like an alto/tenor pitch at a comfortable talking or singing volume. The bot is often wearing a smirk on his face, and is usually the first to comment or make a joke which has resulted in a couple of incidents and arguments on a small number of occasions.
He is often identified wearing black and red military-style uniform, in particular a black jacket with red edges and buttons, a straight edged V-shape collar when the jacket is closed, brass engineering goggles dangle around his screw-like neck, a top hat making his 6' tall build higher.

All three of the SCP subjects have been reported to exhale steam which carry pleasing aromas such as burnt sugar, flowers or trees, spices, candies or even mint gum. Reasons for this is unknown.
Subjects are observed by researchers via camera surveillance to be either talking amoungst themselves when alone, playing songs (most of the time acapella or with one or all playing the instruments in the room) from a variety of genres and eras, or even bickering if annoyed. If there are present observers or someone in the room, they will interact with them or perform for them to make them smile or laugh, usually playing the person's favourite songs before the person could even tell them what song they enjoy, supposed theory indicates the photo-receptors contain scanners and facial recognition software.
Further research demonstrates the acts of SCP 3914 when one or all are injured; the trio will group together in an attempt to comfort the injured member(s) of the band as well as shielding them from danger. The majority of the time, one of them will go to the door of the cell and ask for help in an urgent tone. However, if nobody is around, the subjects will attempt to repair the damage and will only stop if help arrives or they are instructed to move away, though they will seem reluctant to leave the injured male band member.

Addendum: SCP-3914-D
The origins of SCP-3914 are somewhat questionable, as there has been confusion and rumours within the foundation as to what year the subjects were built.

Some photographic evidence has been found, most of them tracking back towards the end of the Industrial Revolution onwards, even places in the first world war.
However, a Renaissance painting seemed to have captured their glow from a distance of the Italian city of Rome.
This painting has been filed in the SCP evidence storage and erased from history.

Though they seemed to have been built (not to mention contained) in the United States, there have been reports of sightings in locations such as Japan, The United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, France and Australia.
Their ability to speak any language appear to stem from the sightings in the locations of the world, including the variety of music they play to capture the interest of their audience.

Unless provoked or in self-defense, the male robot trio are relatively harmless.
