A few minutes later...

As Gavin sat on the couch, watching TV once more, he sighed. "Man, it'd be nice to have someone else here for company while Selina's out testing," he said. "Not that you or SCP-1471-A aren't good company," he quickly continued, not wanting to give either SCPs the wrong idea. "It's just that, I can't really see you guys," He said. "Or touch you."

"Está bien. Entiendo." (It's alright. I understand.)

"Good," he replied with a small, relieved smile, before looking for SCP-1471-A. He soon spotted the SCP, who gave him a thumbs up as it peeked its head around the corner. "I'm glad you guys aren't ma-"

"TAPTAPTAPTAPTAP."

"Huh?" he said with confusion as he looked around, having heard a strange sound. "What was that?"

"TAPTAPTAPTAPCRACK!"

"What in the world?" he said as he looked around again, only to see nothing that could have made that sound. "What's making that so-"

*SMASH!*

"What the fuck?!" he exclaimed with shock as the ceiling smashed open, jumping up from his seat on the couch as plaster and dust hit the floor in front of the coffee table. "What is going on?!"

Then, he felt something brush against his side, and he froze in place. He also started to hear quiet breathing near his left ear, which worried him even more. 'Fuck! There's something behind me,' he thought, before he slowly started to turn his head around, preparing himself to be facing some sort of monstrosity.

He gained a confused look though, when he saw that nothing was behind him. 'Okay, what the heck?!' He thought with confusion as he stared at the empty space behind him. 'I know there's something behind me. Hell! I can still hear it breathing!' He thought, as he continued to whip his head around, trying his best to see what was behind him.

Unfortunately though, all he succeeded in was making himself a bit dizzy. "Ugh, I gotta sit down," he continued as he started to sit down, only to pause as he felt movement against his shoulders and back. 'What the heck?!' he thought as the movement paused when he did. 'What is it doing?' He then resumed moving, and felt more movement as he sat fully down on the couch, before he felt a few objects wrap around his chest, making him stiffen again.

Slowly, he looked down, and his eyes widened at what he saw. Four long and thin pointy limbs were wrapped around his chest, with them being covered in what looked like light green scales. Small black and green fibers coated the limbs, and clung to his shirt. As he looked at the limbs, he noticed that the lowermost pair looked slightly more curved than the others, and had sharper edges on the sides, while the uppermost pair had round edges.

"What the fuck?!" He said as he stared at the limbs with shock and surprise, before he started to look to see where they connected. But as he couldn't see where they went, as the owner of the legs wouldn't let him.

"Oh come on!" he growled as he turned and twisted this way and that, trying to get a good look at the owner of the legs. "Just let me look at you!"

*BAM!*

"What the fuck is it now?!" He cursed as he whipped his head towards the front door, which had swung open and hit the wall loudly. Coming inside were several guards, each with a gun in their hands.

As they came in, they immediately aimed their guns at Gavin, or more accurately, at whatever was holding onto him, with each guard standing behind the coffee table a good distance. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw that SCP-1471-A had gained a worried look on its face.

"Found you!" One of the guards said, while the legs began to twitch a bit around his chest, while the breathing in his ear started to increase in speed slightly. He then felt something wrap around his leg, prompting him to look down at said leg. Wrapped around it was a long, lizard-like tail, with a short crest running along the sides and top of it. It was covered in light green scales, as well as more of those black and green fibers.

"Okay, what the heck is going on here?!" Gavin exclaimed, his frustration coming to a peak. "I'd like an explanation please!"

"Alright men!" One guard shouted to the others. "Tranquilizers at the ready?"

"Sir yes sir!"

"Good," The guard said. But before he could continue speaking, a male voice called out, "DO NOT FIRE!"

Gavin sighed a bit as he felt himself a relax a little. 'Thank Kami for whoever just spoke,' He thought with relief. 'I really did not want to be shot at.'

Then, a male researcher stepped in, huffing and puffing with a red face covered in sweat. He was short, chubby, and appeared to be in his mid-30s, with curly brown hair with streaks of gray in it, tan skin, and brown eyes.

"I repeat. Do not fire!" The man said to the guards, before stepping between them and the coffee table. "All of you can go, except for you two," he said to two guards. "You stay here. The rest of you, go. We can handle this." He then turned around and stared at Gavin and whatever was holding him for several seconds as the other guards left, breathing heavily, before he spoke. "Incredible."

"What?" Gavin said with confusion.

"I've never seen it like this before," The researcher continued as he stared at the being behind Gavin, which was trembling a bit more than before.

"What are you talking about sir?" Gavin asked the man, starting to get a bit annoyed.

"Oh! My apologies," The researcher said. "My name is Doctor Zerchonis, and I oversee SCP-372, the being currently holding you."

"Um, nice to meet you doc," Gavin replied. "So, what's with this SCP?"

At that, the researcher sighed. "It escaped about ten minutes ago," he replied. "Due to some sort of electrical failure in its cell."

"Okay, I got that," Gavin replied. "I mean, it came bursting through my ceiling. What I meant was why is it holding me and why can't I see more of it?"

"Well, the reason you can't see more of it is because it won't let you," Dr. Zerchonis answered as he pulled out a handkerchief and started wiping off the sweat on his face. "You see, we've nicknamed this SCP the 'Peripheral Jumper.' It has learned to time its movements to energy transfers, such as the electrical impulses in the brains of nearby beings, and uses this technique to hide, either by hiding behind the head of a person looking for it or by hiding in their blind spots. It also hides during the clipping that occurs during eye movement."

"Oh," He replied, eyes wide a bit. "So, I'm guessing what you're seeing here is unusual behavior for it?"

"Incredibly unusual, yes," The researcher replied. "It's never been observed in any of the tests we've done with it."

"I see," Gavin said. "So, what's going to happen to it now?"

At that the researcher sighed. "I don't know," he replied honestly. "Never really thought something like this would happen," He continued.

"Really?" Gavin replied, a surprised look on his face. "You never ever thought something like this would happen?"

"No, never! There's been no evidence to suggest that SCP-372 could or would do this," Dr. Zerchonis replied.

'Well, great! Just great!' Gavin thought to himself as he sat there.

"I'm going to go make some calls," Dr. Zerchonis said to him. "Don't go anywhere." He then turned to the guards. "Don't shoot unless absolutely necessary," He said to them, before he left the cell.

Gavin then sighed, and rubbed his forehead, closing his eyes as he did so. 'Why the fuck is this happening to me?' He thought as he sat there. 'Why me?'

Then, he felt the tail around his leg unwrap, before he felt a weight on his lap, while the tail wrapped around his other leg. 'What the fuck is it doing?' he thought as he opened his eyes, only to arch his eyebrows in surprise.

Resting on his lap were the hindquarters of the SCP. Said hindquarters looked similar to a lizard's, except that eight legs matching the front ones were on it, with four on either side. The legs grew thicker as they got closer to the body, and had about three to four joints on each one. The crests on the tail continued to go up the back, and ended at the legs on one side, before resuming on the other side.

'Is it getting more comfortable?' he thought with surprise, before he felt a few more limbs wrap around his torso. 'Yeah, I think it is,' he thought as he glanced down, and saw that four more limbs were wrapped around him. 'What kind of creature is this SCP though?'

After several minutes had passed, Dr. Zerchonis returned, with Dr. Miller and another female researcher, whose nametag identified her as Site Director Sophia Light. When they came into sight, he felt the creature tense up a bit more, and let out a small reptilian hiss.

"You see?" Dr. Zerchonis said with excitement as he gestured to Gavin and SCP-372. "It's letting him see more of itself! And letting us see it as well!"

"Hmmm, how interesting," Director Light said in an African accent as she looked Gavin and the SCP over. "It seems to be trusting him."

"Yes, it does," Dr. Miller agreed, before speaking to Gavin. "How are you SCP-10,000?"

"Oh, fine," He replied. "I'm just trying to figure out why the heck this thing's doing this to me, and when it will let go of me. And how the heck are you going to get it back to its containment cell?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out," Dr. Zerchonis said as he stared at them, a hand to his chin.

"Could we tranquilize it?" Dr. Miller suggested.

"Mmm, it's pretty risky," Dr. Zerchonis replied. "SCP-372 can take at least 10 strong tranquilizers before it gets knocked out due to its physiology."

"What's the risk then?"

"With that high a dose, you risk hurting it. Permanently," He replied. "We were lucky that it wasn't during the capture all those years ago, but we can't risk it again."

"Oh," Dr. Miller said with some surprise. "Then, what other options are there?"

"Well, we could have him carry it back to its cell," he said. "The issue with that is that it might not let go of him. And trying to get those limbs off things is harder than you think. It could also escape with him during the walk down the hallway, or attack someone during the move if overwhelmed with people."

"Any other options?" Dr. Light asked him.

"Well, there is one other," he replied. "It could remain here with him."

"...What?" Gavin said, while the creature hissed again, before he felt something nuzzle against his head gently.

"Are you serious?" Dr. Miller replied with surprise.

"I am," Dr. Zerchonis said with a nod. "It's probably the least risky of all the options available. And it could reduce spending costs."

"But he already has three SCPs living with him," Dr. Miller replied. "SCP-862, and two versions of SCP-1471."

"I don't know what either of those SCPs are, and I don't really think that's a good objection," Dr. Zerchonis replied flatly. "In fact, it's more of a supporting statement. If he can handle three SCPs, then surely he can handle one more." He then turned to Dr. Light. "What do you think Director Light?"

Dr. Light was silent for a couple minutes as she looked intently at Gavin and SCP-372, before she spoke. "I think it could work," She replied, making Gavin's eyes widen even more, while the creature hissed again, the nuzzling increasing in intensity. "We will have to adjust security so that SCP-372 doesn't try to escape every time someone opens the door," She continued, making Dr. Miller's face drop a bit before sighing.

"Of course," Dr. Zerchonis said. "And I'd be happy to help with designing the adjustments."

"Wonderful!" Director Light replied, a small smile appearing on her face. "First things first, we need to patch that hole in."

"I'll go get someone on that immediately Director Light," Dr. Miller said.

"Thank you, Dr. Miller," Director Light replied, prompting Dr. Miller to leave the containment unit. "Dr. Zerchonis, you may go as well. I'm sure you want to go ahead and get started on security adjustments."

"Thank you, Director Light," Dr. Zerchonis said with a nod, before he walked out as well, leaving Director Light and the two guards with Gavin and SCP-372.

There was silence for several seconds, with the only sounds in the room being breathing from everyone, as well as the nuzzling Gavin was receiving.

Then, Director Light spoke. "So, you are SCP-10,000," She said to him as she looked him up and down again. "I must say, you are quite interesting."

"I am?" He asked her with surprise, prompting her to nod.

"Yes you are," She replied. "You've only been here for about two months, and already you've managed to interact with several SCPs and reveal things about them that we never knew before. Quite interesting indeed."

"I...I guess it is," He answered her, having not really thought much about it.

"I look forward to what else happens with you around," Director Light replied, before she gestured for the two guards to follow her as she left.

Right as she left, a few guards walked in, two carrying a large ladder, while the other carried plaster, glue, and other supplies to repair the ceiling.

"Well then, I guess we'd better move out of here so we're not in the way," Gavin said before he started to get up, with the creature moving itself around so that it wasn't slowing him down, wrapping the rest of its legs around him as he stood up all the way, with one of the guards watching him closely. He then slowly walked over to the hallway, and headed into the kitchen.

"So, um, hungry?" He asked the SCP holding him, before feeling it nuzzle his head again in an up-and-down action. "Alright, what would you like?" He asked it as he opened the fridge, before he saw the tail stick out and wrap around some carrots and a head of lettuce. "Just vegetables?" Then, a limb pointed towards a pack of raw beef he had put in the fridge to thaw. "Ah, and meat," he continued, before hearing a happily hiss in his ears. "Alright then," he said as he grabbed the pack of meat and shut the fridge. "Cooked or uncooked?"

In response, one of the limbs extended forward and then stabbed through the raw beef once, before he heard a happy hissing noise. "So, raw then?" He said, before feeling that nodding nuzzle motion on his head again. "Alright then, I'll make you a salad with raw meat." He then grabbed the now-opened beef and set it on the counter, before he got out a big mixing bowl and set it next to the beef, while the SCP set the vegetables on the counter as well.

Once he'd grabbed a knife and cutting board, he started to cut up other vegetables, before tossing them into the bowl along with chunks of raw beef. Soon, he finished making the salad and carried it over to the kitchen table, before setting it on a placemat. "There you go. One raw salad," he said, before he felt the creature let go of him and move over to the chair before the bowl.

As it did so, he finally managed to see the rest of its body, and he was a bit surprised at what he saw. Eight legs sat at its shoulders, which looked quite similar to those of a lizard's. The small crests continued up to its head and legs, before continuing on its neck. Its head was somewhat round in shape, with two sets of dark green insectoid mandibles sitting down at the front. The crests were thicker at the top of its head and the sides, and were darker in color as well. Between the mandibles sat a large fleshy pink ring that had a row of sharp teeth surrounding the large hole in the middle. It appeared to be about 6 and a half feet long from head to tail.

The SCP bent its head down towards the bowl, before it started to eat the salad, using its mandibles to chew large pieces into smaller ones and the teeth on the fleshy ring to pull the food into its mouth.

"Wow," he said as he stared at the creature. "You're...unique," he continued, while the creature let out a small hiss before it continued eating. "It's not a bad thing!" He replied quickly, afraid he might have made the creature mad. "It's just...I didn't know what to expect honestly."

The creature hissed again as it ate, while Gavin saw SCP-1471-A look at it from around the corner with curiosity on its face, cocking its head as it looked.

Soon, the creature had finished its food, and it pushed the empty bowl away with a small hiss, before turning to Gavin again. It then moved over to him faster than he could blink, with him only seeing a green blur in his peripheral vision as it wrapped its limbs around him once more.

"Um, so are you always going to be doing this?" He asked the creature as he felt its tail wrap around his leg, before he felt it nuzzle against his head in an up-and-down motion. "Okay then. Good to know," He continued with a sigh. "Do know that I will want to be let go sometimes, alright?" he said, causing it to nod again before it hugged him just a bit tighter. "Good. I'm glad you understand," He continued, before he heard the front door open and then shut, followed by Selina saying, "What happened here?"

"Selina, I'm in the kitchen," he called out to the cat as he turned his body towards the kitchen entrance.

"Hey sweetie," Selina said as she soon entered the kitchen. "Can you tell me why the-What's that on your back?" She asked upon spotting the creature holding him.

"So, um, say high to our new roommate," Gavin said as he gestured to the creature holding him. "Selina, this is SCP-372. SCP-372, this is Selina." The creature then hissed in greeting to Selina, before it resumed nuzzling him.

"'New roommate?'" Selina repeated with surprise.

"Yeah," He replied with a nod.

"What led to this?" She asked him as she walked over to them, looking the creature over with curiosity. "And why do I smell another cat on you?"

"Well, from what I was told, this SCP escaped containment not long ago, and well, it broke into here for some reason," He replied, while the creature nuzzled him more. "And now it won't let go of me unless absolutely necessary, I'm guessing."

"Ooookay, and why can I smell another cat on you?" She asked him.

"Well, you know how there was the singing incident I was involved with a week and a half ago?" he asked her, causing her to nod. "Well, one of the SCPs who witnessed the incident wanted to see me."

"And it was a cat?" Selina asked, prompting him to nod.

"Yes, and it wanted to play with me," He replied.

"Play with you how, exactly?" She asked him.

"With toys," he answered quickly, not wanting her to get the wrong idea. "Not that way Selina. I'd never cheat on you."

Upon hearing him say that, she smiled before chuckling a little. "What?" he asked her with some confusion. "What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing much," She replied. "It's just funny that you think that you mating with another creature would be considered cheating on me."

"Um, but it is," He replied with an arched eyebrow, prompting her to shake her head. "How is it not cheating?" He asked her, feeling very confused.

"Let me explain," Selina began. "You see sweetie, I've always wanted a large family, ever since I was little. Included in that family are kittens of course, and you, my mate." At that, he smiled warmly. "But I want that family to be a pride. A harem, as I believe I heard it called on TV."

"A harem?!" he exclaimed with shock, eyes wide.

"Yes, a harem," She replied with a smile as she got closer to him. "With me as Alpha female, and you as the head of it."

"Y-Y-Y-You've got to be kidding me!" he said. "Y-Y-Y-You're saying that other females can get with me?"

"Mhm!" She replied with a smile. "As long as they don't try to take the Alpha female position from me."

"What the fuck?!" he said again, shocked at this revelation. "What the fuck?!" He repeated, while Selina smirked.

"I'll give you some time to think about it," She replied as she licked him on the cheek, before she headed to the bedroom to take a nap.

Gavin continued to stand there for several minutes, shock on his face, before he felt his phone vibrate, snapping him out of his stupor.

When he looked at his phone, he saw that he'd gotten a message from MalO, which consisted of a photo of him standing there shocked, while SCP-1471-A stood behind him, looking at him with concern on its skull. He'd also gotten a message from Z0RR.a, which read "¿Estás bien Gavin?" (Are you alright Gavin?)

"I will be," he replied with a sigh. "I just need some time to process this. I mean, I never thought I would learn that Selina wants me to get a harem."

"Perfectamente comprensible. ¿Te gustaría beber algo?" (Perfectly understandable. Would you like something to drink?)

"Water please," He asked as he walked over to the kitchen table and sat down, while SCP-372 shifted its body around slightly so that it was now sitting in his lap, its limbs wrapped around his back. A few seconds later, a cup of water with ice cubes in it floated over to him. "Thank you Z0RR.a," He added as he took the cup, before sipping some water.

"De nada." (You're welcome.)

Gavin then took another sip of water, and sighed. 'Sweet Kami!' He inwardly screamed as his mind went over what he had just learned again and again and again. 'She wants me to get a harem?! Oh my god!'

As he sat there, thinking over what he had just learned, SCP-372 gently hissed, before it gently nuzzled him, catching his attention. "What is it?" He asked the creature, who hissed again, before it gently rested its head on his shoulder and hugged him a bit tighter, surprising him a bit. "Oh! Ummmmm, thanks," He continued, surprised that the creature was apparently comforting him.

Several minutes passed, before he sighed again. "This is going to take some time to get used to," he said as he stood up, which was a bit difficult, as the creature was a bit heavy. The creature shifted around so it was on his back once more, and he then heard the front door open and shut, confusing him.

"Who's there?" he said, before his eyes widened with realization. "Wait, those were the workers, weren't they?" He continued, before seeing SCP-1471-A nod at him. "Alright then. Let's see how they patched up the hole," He said as he walked into the living room and looked up at the ceiling where the hole had been. "Wow. I can barely see where the hole used to be," He continued as he looked at the ceiling, the only sign that there had even been a hole in the first place being that the patch was a lighter creamish-color than the rest of the ceiling. 'They did a really good job,' He thought, before he walked over to the couch and started to sit down, prompting SCP-372 to move around as he did so.

Once he was seated, the SCP moved itself around so that it was sitting in his lap again, and nuzzled into the crook of his neck, hissing happily.

"So, um, you ever watch TV?" he asked the creature as he grabbed the remote and turned the TV back on, showing that it was still on Animal Planet. The creature then shook its head. "Well, I think you'll like this," He said. 'If you can see it, that is,' He thought as he looked at the TV and started to watch it, relaxing as he did so and noticing SCP-1471-A watching him from around the corner once more, looking a bit unsure about something. "What is it SCP-1471-A?" he asked the SCP. "Something wrong?"

The SCP shook its head, and then MalO texted him a thumbs up in front of a photo of SCP-1471-A looking at him from the corner.

"Well, alright," He said to the SCP. "But if you need to talk to me about something, let me know."

The SCP nodded, before it pulled its head back around the corner, disappearing from sight, while Gavin turned his attention back to the TV.

'Hopefully, nothing else crazy happens to me while I'm here,' He thought as SCP-372 hugged him a bit more, before nuzzling him.

Oh, he had no idea how wrong he was.
