2 | weasleys' wizard wheezes
"Just focus."
"This would be a lot easier if you would all shut up!" Abigail exclaimed as she opened her eyes and turned to see the group of auror's watching her. "Or maybe it's performance anxiety from the crowd of people staring at me while I'm trying to stitch into a psychopath's brain!"
"All right, you heard the girl," Sirius spoke up with an amused grin on his face, "Out, out!"
"Not too far, we'll be leaving for Diagon Alley soon," Lupin added.
Abigail rested her head back on the couch as everyone but Sirius and Lupin left the room to make themselves busy elsewhere, "I don't understand why there are so many of them. It's just more people to die trying to protect me." Lupin placed his head in his hand and shook his head. She turned to face the two, "Oh, speaking of. If anyone even comes remotely close to dying trying to keep me safe? I'll kill them myself. Even if I have to bring them back from the dead to do so."
"I don't doubt it," Lupin nodded, "Try one more time and then we'll head out."
Abigail sighed before settling down. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. In...out...in...ou- "Blood traitors!" the portrait of Sirius's mother screeched and Abigail opened her eyes. "Stains of dishonor!" She turned to see that Sirius had gone to take care of the awful shouting and Lupin looked at her, clearly defeated. "Filthy half-breeds!"
"I suppose we can stop for today," he sighed and Abigail sat up, "You have your letter?" Abigail nodded and pulled it out of her pocket to show him, "You haven't even opened it yet?"
"I've been preoccupied," she shrugged as she opened the envelope and pulled out her O.W.L.s results.

Abigail handed over her results to her father who glanced over them and looked back up at her with a smile, "You passed all of them?"
"It would appear that way, yes," she nodded, "Although you would have assumed I would have done at least a little bad considering I was out for a month but nevertheless."
"You didn't cheat, did you?" he asked quickly.
"How on earth would I ha-" he was pointing at his head and she narrowed her eyes, "No! I wouldn't even know how to do that without getting caught now, let alone before when I was completely clueless!"
"Keep it down," Sirius suggested, "I just got the foul women to shut up." He gestured back to where he came from, "What are you even arguing over anyway?"
"I got nine O.W.L.s and he thinks I cheated," Abigail explained.
"Oh, that's not-" Lupin began but he sighed in defeat, "Nevermind. Let's just get going so we aren't out too late."
"Can we stop by Fred and George's shop if there's time?" Abigail requested as Lupin and Sirius, along with the three other auror's assigned to her, followed her out. Sirius took a sip of the Polyjuice Potion he had before slipping it into his pocket. His skin bubbled before he changed into some random muggle they had stolen a hair from.
"I don't see why not," Lupin concluded and Abigail hugged him quickly.
"Thank you," she grinned before she released him and skipped ahead of the group.
"I will never understand teenage girls," Lupin commented.
"Hmm, that's why I'm glad Harry's a boy," Sirius replied, "Much less complicated."
"Speaking of Harry, he and Ab-"
"Oh, relax, Moony," he tutted, "They're teenagers. What do you expect?" Lupin narrowed his eyes but said nothing more on the subject. "Did you tell her that you were handing her off once we meet up with the Weasley's?"
"You make it sound like I'm trying to get rid of her."
"Aren't you though?" Sirius inquired, "I mean, just a little."
"No," Lupin shook his head. "And no, I didn't tell her but you just did."
"What-" Sirius began but he looked up to see that Abigail had indeed been listening in to their conversation. "Oh. Sorry."
"It was bound to happen at some point," Abigail pouted jokingly, "I knew you would grow tired of me but so soon?"
Sirius grinned at this but quickly masked it when he saw the look on his old friend's face. "Watch where you're going," he suggested quickly, "You'll run into someone."
"There's no one to run into," she pointed out with a frown. Diagon Alley was indeed a ghost town. Half the shops were closed and any of the people who were there were in groups and moving quickly. She felt a chill run down her spine as she passed by where Ollivander's was, "Let's just get my books."
They entered Flourish and Blotts and made their way to where her school books would be located, leaving the three auror's outside to stand by and watch.
"Question," Abigail spoke up as she grabbed the books she would need for the year, "Do I need to take Divinations this year? I mean I've basically mastered the subject and now that I have my special lessons, I don't really need it, do I?"
"I suppose not," Lupin replied. "What classes are you going to take?"
"Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Herbology, Charms and Transfiguration," she answered.
"All the classes to be an a-"
"Yes, an auror," she finished, "Assuming I make it out alive, that's all I can think of that I would want to be."
"I hate it when you talk like that," her father reminded her.
"I know you do," she nodded as they paid and left, "But it's true. It's common knowledge that people are going to die. I'm not excluded from that."
They got the remainder of her school stuff and they made their way to Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes, the only light in the now dark shopping center. The three auror's remained outside and Sirius and Lupin followed Abigail in.
"Imagine if this place was around when we were at Hogwarts," Sirius mused, "The fun that we could have had."
"The fun that you and James would have had," Lupin corrected.
"You would have tagged along."
"Abigail!" Ginny greeted and she pulled the girl in for a hug, "How are you?"
"Oh, I'm good," she smiled in return.
"Are your parents around?" Lupin asked.
"There right over there," she replied, pointing to the end of the store where they stood.
"We'll be back," Lupin said to Abigail and she nodded.
Abigail walked with Ginny over to where Hermione stood with a daydream box in hand.
"Abigail," Hermione greeted, pulling the girl into a quick hug, "When did you get here?"
"Oh, just now," she replied before pointing at where the disguised Sirius and Lupin had joined the Weasley's, "They can't wait to get rid of me."
"Can't see why anyone would want to do that," Fred tskd.
"You're such a joy to be around," George added.
Abigail turned around to look at the twins, "Great job with the place. Every adult's nightmare."
"That's the goal," Fred nodded. "We have to go assist other customers."
George nodded in agreement, "We'll see you around."
"It's crazy how much they've done," Abigail pointed out as she looked around the store.
Ginny nodded, "Mum was shocked to say the least." She then said a quick goodbye and went to join one of her friends from her grade.
"Abigail?" Ron inquired as he walked up with a distracted Harry at his side, "When did you get here?"
"Not long ago," she explained, "My dad and Sirius are talking to your parents now."
"Sirius is here?" Harry spoke up, seemingly pulled from his dazed state.
"That's what I just said, isn't it? Although he's disguised as someone else, nevertheless," Abigail nodded at the boy in confusion before turning to Ron, "What's wrong with him?"
"He's distracted," Ron explained, "He's convinced Draco's a Death Eater and it's been in his head ever since he made the alleged discovery."
"He is," Harry pointed out, "I just know it."
"Hmm," Abigail nodded. "I guess we'll find out soon enough - no, Ron, I don't know how many fingers are behind your back and would you stop trying to ask me that!"
Ron mumbled a quick apology before Lupin walked over to his daughter. "You'll be staying with the Weasley's until the term starts. I'll be there to drop you off at the train."
Abigail gasped dramatically, "I knew you were trying to get rid of me."
"Oh, would you stop it with that," Lupin requested, "Before I do decide to actually get rid of you."
The girl rolled her eyes but hugged her father anyway, "Goodbye, father."
"Goodbye, daughter," he replied with a roll of his eyes, placing a kiss on her head.
"We'll see you all later," Sirius stated before the two walked off.
"It's time to go," Mrs. Weasley announced, "The auror's on watch of Abigail will be switching off soon and it's much easier for them to do that at the Burrow than here."
"Why doesn't Harry get a million auror's watching him 24/7?" Abigail inquired. "It would make more sense if he did and not me."
"No one's trying to kidnap me," Harry pointed out, "They just want me dead."
"No one's trying to kidnap me either!" Abigail countered, "Well at least not yet."
He shot her a look, "Very funny."
She grinned, "I try."
