Liam, Scott and Mitch are currently in the emergency room. Today, Liam had a flag football game and he injured himself during the second half of the game. Liam's flag football coaches helped him off of the field right away and called an ambulance for him.

Mitch and Scott are with Liam at the hospital while Nicole is at their house with Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia making sure they eat all dinner and head to bed. 

Liam is finally in his own room and away from the sick patients in the emergency room.

"Liam, are you doing okay bud?" Scott asks Liam.

"Yeah. It just really hurts, Papa." Liam says as he tries not to cry in pain.

"I know it hurts. I know you are in pain. I'm hoping they will give you some pain medicine soon. It's going to be okay." Scott says as he rubs Liam's head.

"We are just waiting for the x-ray machine too. The x-ray will tell us what's going on with your ankle and foot." Mitch says to Liam.

"Does an x-ray hurt?" Liam asks Mitch and Scott.

"No, it doesn't. It will make a loud noise, kinda like a big professional camera does when they take a picture." Mitch explains to Liam.

"It just takes a picture of your bones. They look really cool. Dad and I have to leave the room when they do the x-ray, okay?" Scott says to Liam.

"Okay." Liam says as he moves his foot slightly and he screams in pain.

"It's okay. It's okay." Mitch says comforting his almost thirteen year old son.

Liam usually hates kisses and hugs from his parents but right now he doesn't mind because he is pain.

Scott's iPhone begins to go off with text messages from Nel, Mike, Connie and Rick. They are all worried about Liam ever since Scott told them Liam got hurt during the flag football game.

"God, our parents are in a group chat and they keep texting me. I appreciate all of the love but we don't know anything new." Scott says with a chuckle.

"I turned my phone off tell them I'm fine." Mitch says with a giggle.

"Yeah, they keep asking if you are okay." Scott says to Mitch.

"Nana, Mom Mom, Grampy and Poppy are worried all about you, bud. They keep texting Papa wanting updates." Mitch says to Liam and Liam chuckles.

"Tell them I'm fine, Papa." Liam says to Mitch and Scott.

"I'll tell them, bud!" Scott says with a cheeky grin.

The nurse walks into Liam's hospital room and smiles at Mitch, Scott and Liam.

"Hello! My name is Kayla and I am one of the nurses here in the emergency room! I'm sorry for the long wait, it is very busy in here today. What is your son's full name and birthday?" Nurse Kayla asks Mitch and Scott.

"Liam Richard Grassi-Hoying. April 14th. He's twelve." Mitch say to Nurse Kayla as Nurse Kayla checks Liam's chart.

"Hi, Liam! How are you feeling today?" Nurse Kayla says to Liam.

"I'm okay, I'm just in pain. My foot really hurts and my ankle is hurting too." Liam says to Nurse Kayla.

"I see that your foot and ankle are a little swollen. Your ankle and foot are also a little bruised, so that's why it is purple looking. Bruising is very normal and will go away within two weeks. But can you feel my hand touching your ankle and leg?" Nurse Kayla asks Liam as he touches Liam's ankle and foot.

"Yes, but that really hurts." Liam says trying not to scream in pain.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I won't touch it anymore. How did this injury happen today?" Nurse Kayla asks Liam.

"I was playing a flag football with my team and I tripped on a rock in the grass and I twisted my ankle and foot at the same time." Liam says to Nurse Kayla.

"My brother loves flag football! He goes to JBMS. What school do you go to?" Nurse Kayla asks Liam as she checks his vitals.

"I go to CSCS." Liam says to Nurse Kayla.

"CSCS has amazing sport teams! My mom might transfer my brother there actually. He isn't doing well at JBMS." Nurse Kayla says as she writes Liam's vitals down.

"CSCS is a great school! Liam is doing very well there. The school is a middle and high school." Mitch explains to Nurse Kayla.

"I heard a lot of great things about that school. But the school was filled when my mom tried to register my brother." Nurse Kayla.

"They have opening houses around the spring time." Scott says to Liam.

"I'll tell my mom about that! Thank you! But the x-ray cart will be coming soon! I think Liam sprained his ankle and his foot may be broken." Nurse Kayla says as she gets an IV ready and Liam's eyes begin to pop out of his head.

"What's that needle for?" Liam asks as his anxiety begins to rise.

"I'm just going to put an IV in your arm! Is that okay?" Nurse Kayla says to Liam.

"Liam, you need to get an IV in your arm so they can give you some pain medicine. The pain medicine will make your ankle and foot feel better and not hurt as bad." Mitch says to Liam as he holds Liam's hand.

"Why can't I just take a pill?" Liam asks out loud.

"The medicine will work much faster in the IV. Pills take too long." Scott explains to Liam.

Liam doesn't have that many fears in life, but he is absolutely terrified of needles. He always has been but he tolerates shots.

"It is just going to be a little pinch! I promise!" Nurse Kayla says to Liam.

"It's going to be in my arm and hurt!" Liam says as he begins to panic.

"It will just feel funny and it won't hurt! I promise. Just look at Daddy and I when Nurse Kayla does it. And don't look at your arm when the needle is in there." Scott says to Liam.

Liam begins to slightly panic and looks over at Mitch and Scott.

"You need to stay still, Liam. Nurse Kayla can't see your veins if you move around." Mitch says as he tries to calm Liam.

Nurse Kayla puts the IV into Liam's arm easily and tapes it in so it won't come out.

"I'm all done! See, that wasn't too hard! The other nurse will bring in the pain medicine so your ankle and foot don't hurt when we move it around for the x-rays." Nurse Kayla says to Liam, Mitch and Scott.

"I'm sorry, he really hates needles. I'm not sure why." Mitch says to Nurse Kayla.

"It's okay! You are not alone! My husband is terrified of them and usually runs out of the room. Liam did just fine." Nurse Kayla says to Mitch and Scott.

"Thank you." Scott and Mitch say in unison to Nurse Kayla.

"You're welcome! I will be back later! The other nurse will come in shortly to give you medicine. See you guys later!" Nurse Kayla says as she leaves the room.

The nurses all begin to laugh outside of the hospital room as they look at a picture on an iPhone.

"Are the nurses making fun of me and laughing at me out there because of my needle fear?" Liam asks Mitch in embarrassment as he hides his face.

"They better not be laughing at you. I will shut this hospital down if anybody messes with you, Liam." Mitch says with anger.

"Babe, you need to calm down and just relax. Nobody is laughing at Liam. They are talking about somebody's dog. They are looking at pictures on another nurses iPhone. They aren't laughing at Liam, babe." Scott whispers as he rubs Mitch's back as Mitch sits on his lap. 

"Well, they need to stop talking and do their job! It is ridiculous that it's takes two hours to get a damn x-ray and pain medicine! My child is hurt!" Mitch says out loud.

"Shh, Mitch. This emergency room is freaking packed. We are lucky we were even seen as fast as we were. There are so many people sick here." Scott says to Mitch.

"I'm sorry, my mama bear is out and ready to fight anybody. Nobody messes with our kids." Mitch says to Scott. 

"Well, you can't be fighting people while you are pregnant, love. I will fight people if I have too, but I don't wanna cause a huge scene in the hospital right now." Scott says kisses Mitch's hand.

"Dad wants to beat somebody up." Liam says as he giggles.

"I will for you, bud. I love you so much." Mitch says as he rubs Liam's arm.

"Does your IV hurt, Liam?" Scott asks Liam.

"No, it just feels funny." Liam explains to Scott.

"That's normal, bud. Just don't play with it okay?" Scott says and Liam nods.

Mitch sighs loudly as he lays his head on Scott's neck.

"I just hate seeing my baby boy hurt. I knew this was going to happen! I KNEW it. I'm a freaking psychic! I KNEW Liam was going to get injured playing flag football." Mitch says to Scott.

"Well, Liam wanted to play flag football and he knew injures can possible happen. Injuries can happen with any sport, Mitchy. I don't think this will be a big injury. Maybe it's a sprain like Nurse Kayla said." Scott says to Mitch.

"Sprains don't make you cry like he did. He broke his leg or something." Mitch says to Scott.

"My leg is fine, dad. My leg doesn't hurt at all. My foot and ankle hurt really bad." Liam says to Mitch.

Nurse Phoebe walks into Liam's hospital room with Liam's pain medicine.

"Hello! My name is Phoebe and I will be giving your son some pain medicine! What is his full name and date of birth?" Nurse Phoebe asks Scott and Mitch.

"Liam Richard Grassi-Hoying. April 14th." Mitch says to Nurse Phoebe.

"Hello, Liam! I am going to give you some pain medicine to help your ankle and foot feel a little better.

"Okay." Liam says softly to Nurse Phoebe.

Nurse Phoebe administers Liam some pain medicine into his IV.

"Thank you so much." Scott and Mitch say in unison.

"You're welcome! I'll be back later to check on Liam. If you guys need anything just call the nurses station." Nurse Phoebe says with a smile.

It's been about fifteen minutes since Liam received his pain medicine. Liam giggles loudly he looks at Mitch and Scott.

"Oh lord, he is high on pain meds." Scott says as he films a video of Liam giggling loudly.

Liam moves around in the hospital bed as he continues to giggle loudly.

"Liam, you need to stay still. Stay still." Mitch says to Liam and Liam stops moving around.

"Everything is funny!" Liam says as he smiles at Mitch.

"Everything is funny? That's good! Does your ankle and foot still hurt?" Mitch asks Liam.

"It feels a lot better." Liam says as he giggles at Mitch.

"That's good! I'm glad." Mitch says looking at Scott and giggles.

"This is really funny." Scott says with a chuckle.

"It's really cute. But I don't want him addicted to pain medicine. No way." Mitch says to Scott.

"Don't worry, Mitchy. They gave him a half of a dose, so it isn't a lot. Don't worry." Scott says to Mitch, rubbing his back.

The x-ray technician comes in a few minutes later and takes several x-rays of Liam's foot and ankle.

An hour later, Liam was diagnosed with a grade two sprained ankle and a broken foot. Liam has to wear a cast for about six weeks!

After four hours in the emergency room, Scott, Mitch and Liam are now home for the night. Scott manages to carry Liam into the house, since Liam is having trouble walking with his cast at the moment.

Scott sits Liam in the kitchen so he can eat his Chick Fil A dinner. Liam begins to eat his dinner while Mitch and Scott get settled in and they check on the other kids.

"You must have been hungry!" Mitch says as he rubs circles into Liam's back.

"I was starving." Liam says to Mitch and Scott.

"I know, you haven't ate since before your game." Mitch says kissing Liam's cheek.

"Do you want your milkshake now or later?" Scott asks Liam.

"Later." Liam says as he drinks his Coca-Cola fountain drink.

"Okay, I'll put it in the freezer." Scott says putting Liam's milkshake in the freezer to remain cold.

"Where's everybody at?" Liam asks Mitch and Scott.

"They are all sleeping, shh." Mitch says with a chuckle.

"Oh, that's right it's late." Liam says with a giggle.

"Liam, you can't sleep in your bedroom for about a week. You have to stay downstairs." Scott says to Liam.

"Noooo! I wanna sleep in my bed. I love my bed." Liam says, still a little high on the pain medicine.

"I know you love your bed. But don't worry, we will give your privacy in the living room. You just need to rest down here until you get your strength back." Mitch says to Liam.

"Ugh, fine." Liam says to Mitch and Scott.

Scott begins to make the couch into a couch bed for Liam, bringing all of Liam's pillows, charges and blankets.

Mitch helps Liam into the half bathroom that's downstairs. Liam washes his face and brushes his teeth before hopping over to the couch.

"We need to get you a set of crutches, Liam. I'll go out tomorrow and see if I can find them." Scott says to Liam.

"Okay." Liam says as he lays down on the couch.

"Your tablet is here, your laptop is here, the tv remote is right here. You got Netflix and Hulu down here on this tv too. I didn't bring your PlayStation down here. Maybe I will tomorrow if you want to play it. But you should go to sleep, it's late." Scott says to Liam.

"Okay, thank you Papa." Liam says as he hugs Scott.

"You're welcome, bud. Get some sleep. I love you. See you in the morning. Mitchy, I'm going to take a shower, I feel so gross since we were in the hospital. You coming up?" Scott says as he kisses Mitch twice and rubs Liam's head softly.

"I love you too." Liam says to Scott as he fixes his pillow.

"I'll be up in a little bit. I wanna keep Liam company for a little while and make sure he is okay." Mitch says to Scott.

"Goodnight, Liam. Sleep well." Scott says to Liam.

"Goodnight, Papa." Liam says to Scott as he yawns.

Mitch puts pillows around Liam's ankle and foot so it's cushioned while Liam sleeps.

"There you go, bud." Mitch says softly to Liam.

"Thank you, Dad." Liam says to Mitch.

"You're welcome! Do you need anything else?" Mitch asks Liam.

"No." Liam says softly to Mitch.

"Okay." Mitch says as Liam begins to watch a show on Netflix.

Mitch checks his emails on his iPhone while Liam watches his show on Netflix.

"Dad?" Liam says to Mitch.

"Yes, baby." Mitch says as he rubs Liam's forehead.

"I love you." Liam says to Mitch.

"I love you too. Get some rest, baby. I'm going to head upstairs and relax with Papa. If you need me or Papa, just call us on your phone, okay?" Mitch says kissing Liam's cheek.

"Okay, Dad." Liam says as he falls asleep.

Mitch covers Liam up with his blankets before going upstairs for the night.

Liam begins to go feel better after a week!

Mitch posts a picture of Liam laying on the couch and sleeping. He writes the caption as: "Flag football season is over for this boy 😓 Liam got injured today during his flag football game.
