Thanksgiving, November 28th

Mitch and Scott are currently in the kitchen finishing up the last minute dishes for their Thanksgiving dinner!

This year, Mitch, Scott, Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna were gonna fly to Texas to have Thanksgiving with their whole family just like they did last year.

They usually do it every other year however this year they wanted to do family photos with their whole family and it's hard when everybody lives in different states. 

However, five days ago, Scott, Liam, Isabella, Amelia, Joel, Bridger and Luna tested positive for Covid. Two days later, Mitch, Hudson, Sophia, Sawyer and Gabriella tested positive for Covid.

Due to the whole entire Grassi-Hoying family testing positive for Covid, they had to last minute cancel their trip to Texas. Hopefully by next week, they should be able to fly to Texas for the last few days of Thanksgiving/Fall break to do family pictures with the rest of the Grassi's and Hoying's!

"Are you feeling okay, Mitchy?" Scott says, walking over to Mitch seeing that he looks a little dizzy.

"I'm okay. Just tired and felt dizzy for a second. Can't wait to eat and lay down." Mitch says as he playfully chuckles and gives Mitch a kiss on his cheek.

"#Same! But I loveeeeee Thanksgiving! It stinks we couldn't fly to Texas this week but at least we can spend much needed time with the twelve of us and our zoo of pets! Getting sick with Covid helped us slow down and spend the time together as a family." Scott says kissing Mitch's forehead.

"You are absolutely right. We wouldn't have gotten to spend the time together with just our little, well not so little family unit." Mitch says as he laughs before has a small coughing fit.

"That's true! We are usually on the go during the holidays it's weird just to lay around and do nothing. But I know our family cannot wait to see all of us next week! I'm glad the kids have another week of break this school year." Scott says, handing Mitch his cup of hot tea he made.

"Me too! A week isn't enough to celebrate the holiday and see everyone! One week at home and one week visiting family is perfect. And I cannot wait to see all of them! It's been a while! And I know the kids can't wait to see everyone too. Speaking of the kids, I need to get their family picture outfits together." Mitch says, making a mental note to pack the kids' outfits for the family photoshoot.

"What's the color scheme for the Grassi Hoying family photos again?" Scott asks Mitch.

"I think it's brown and tans. I'll have to text one of our sisters to find out for sure!" Mitch says as he makes a mental note to either text Lindsay, Lauren or Jessa later in the day.

"I'm so happy Instacart exists so we could even have this Thanksgiving dinner today! We can't go out with Covid." Scott says as he chuckles.

"Oh me too! None of us want to get others sick, that's not fair of us to do that." Mitch says as he gets the rolls out of the oven while Scott gets everything into bowls.

The Grassi-Hoying family's Thanksgiving dinner is almost done!

Meanwhile in the living room, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna are either watching 'The Jungle Book', playing with toys or watching something on a tablet.

Bridger and Luna are watching Ms. Rachel on their tablet and they are repeating every single thing she says which has been annoying Gabriella, Joel and Amelia since they are watching the movie.

"Wheels on da bus go rwound and rwound! Beep beep beep!" Bridger and Luna sing as they jump around happily.

Gabriella and Amelia are playing with baby dolls while watching 'The Jungle Book' and Joel is laying on the couch watching it as well.

"Look for the bare necessities! The simple bare necessities! Forget about your worries and your strife! I mean the bare necessities, Old Mother Nature's recipes! That brings the bare necessities of life!" Amelia, Joel and Gabriella all happily sing along with the movie characters - Baloo and Mowgli.

Mitch walks into the living room and smiles at his and Scott's five younger kids singing and having fun despite them having Covid. Thankfully Covid hasn't knocked them down as hard as the older kids but the first two days were rough!

"Hey babes, let's get everything cleaned up and let's turn the movie off! We can finish the movie after dinner. We are getting ready to have our Thanksgiving dinner now." Mitch says to Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna.

Bridger and Luna both happily run over to Mitch and hug his legs causing him to giggle. Mitch hugs them back and gives each of them a sweet kiss.

"YAY! Tanks giving!" Gabriella says, dancing on her tippy toes and a big smile.

"Yeah! Tanks giving!" Joel yells as he jumps around.

"Are you guys all excited to have Thanksgiving dinner? Papa and I made it with love." Mitch says to Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna.

"YES!" Amelia, Joel and Gabriella all say in unison happily.

"YA!" Bridger and Luna both say as they hug Mitch's legs tightly once again.

"Me too! Thanksgiving dinner is the best and even though we don't feel good, we can still have this wonderful dinner as a family." Mitch says as he kisses Amelia, Joel and Gabriella while they all walk over to him.

"Hey guys! Are you excited for Thanksgiving?" Scott says as he walks into the living room, smiling at Mitch, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna.

"YES!" Amelia, Joel and Gabriella all say in unison, hugging Scott.

"YA!" Bridger and Luna both say as they run over to Scott and hugging his legs.

Scott hugs the twins back and gives them, Gabriella, Joel and Amelia all a sweet kiss.

"Let me get Sawyer, Issy, Soph, Huddy and Liam down here and then we can all have Thanksgiving dinner! Make sure you wash your hands before you find your seat, okay?" Scott explains to Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna.

"Okay!" Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna all say and run into the half bath to wash their hands.

Mitch smirks and gives Scott a sweet kiss before helping Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna get ready for Thanksgiving dinner.

Scott then goes upstairs to get Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella and sawyer downstairs to join them for Thanksgiving dinner.

Scott stands in the hallway and sees most of ten older kids bedroom doors open except for Liam's.

"Hey guys, come on downstairs it's time to eat Thanksgiving dinner." Scott says loudly in the hallway.

Sawyer, Hudson and Sophia happily walk out of their bedroom right away excited to have Thanksgiving dinner.

Scott walks into Isabella's bedroom to wake her up and does the same when he walks into Liam's bedroom.

Isabella and Liam were both enjoying their naps since they both didn't sleep well the night before however they were both hungry and excited for Thanksgiving.

Scott, Isabella and Liam all walk downstairs and see the cats - Wyatt, Ollie, Luther, Olivier, Nino, Dahlia and Betty, the dogs - Daisy, Lucy, Tux, Delilah, Billie Jean, Miles and Mozart and the rabbits - Winter and Snow all enjoying their special Thanksgiving dinners made by the kids.

"These pets are so freaking spoiled. I don't think anybody I know does a Thanksgiving dinner just for their pets like we do." Liam says with laugh before he coughs.

"Very spoiled! And why not? They are apart of the family too!" Isabella says playfully to Liam with a grin.

"Get a plate and fill it up! We have plenty of food! We will probably have left overs for a week." Mitch says as Scott laughs, knowing that's probably not the case since all of their kids love to eat.

Scott, Mitch, Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna all sit around the table and fill their plates of Thanksgiving foods!

Since the Grassi-Hoying's aren't religious, they don't pray like a lot of families do at Thanksgiving dinner. However they do say what they are thankful for, which they are thankful for many things.

"Okay, one by one I want all of us to say what we are thankful for this year! Daddy will go first." Scott says as he puts gravy on his plate.

One by one, Mitch, Scott, Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna all say what they are thankful for this year!

Mitch is thankful for his family, his health, Pentatonix and music.

Hudson is thankful for Addison, his family and his friends.

Sophia is thankful for Beckett, family, friends and art.

Gabriella is thankful for family friends, her stuffed animals and her many baby dolls.

Bridger is thankful for family and toys.

Joel is thankful for family, friends and toys.

Isabella is thankful for friends, family, Rosalina and theater.

Sawyer is thankful for friends, family, video games and sports.

Amelia is thankful for her family and friends and everything she has.

Luna is thankful for family and stuffed animals.

Liam is thankful for Willow, friends, family, money and sports.

Scott is thankful for his family, his health, Pentatonix and music, just like Mitch.

After saying what they are all thankful for, Mitch, Scott, Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna all begin to happily eat their Thanksgiving dinner!

For the rest of the day, Mitch, Scott, Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia, Joel, Gabriella, Bridger and Luna spend the night together as a family! :)

scotthoying happy thanksgiving from the grassi-hoyings and covid 😂😷 we were suppose to be heading to texas to have thanksgiving with our family but we all got covid!! thankfully, we are all feeling pretty good after three days of having it rough!! make sure you get vaccinated because it helped us get better fast! 🤎

scotthoying a comfy thanksgiving with the kids  since we all got covid. 😷🤎 thankful we are all feeling better and we managed to put some comfy (but cute!!) clothes on for our little makeshift thanksgiving!! we will fly to texas to visit family hopefully next week to finish fall break there!!
