Today is August 16th, meaning today is the first day of school for the Grassi-Hoying kids!

Seven out of the eight Grassi-Hoying kids are heading to school gets this school year, something both Mitch and Scott can't wrap their minds around that fact!

The only kid that isn't going into some type of schooling this year is Gabriella and that's because she is too young, she isn't even one years old yet.

Liam is a sophomore (10th grader) in high school, Hudson is a 7th grader in middle school, Sophia is a 5th grader, Isabella is a 3rd grader, Sawyer is a 2nd grader, Amelia is a kindergartner and Joel is in pre-k 2 which is preschool.

Today is also Joel's second birthday, which he is so excited that he is going to school on his birthday! Last night, Mitch picked up some cupcakes from the store to give to Joel's classmates and his two teachers to celebrate his birthday!

Right now, Scott, Gabriella, Liam and Hudson are up for the day and they are all having breakfast together! Mitch is upstairs taking a quick shower since he didn't take a shower last night like Scott did.

Liam and Hudson are already dressed in their school uniforms, their public charter middle and high school requires them, which both of the boys really hate.

For breakfast, Liam is eating a bowl of Apple Jacks cereal while Hudson is eating some pancakes!

"Are you two excited for your first day of school? I can't believe you guys are in tenth and seventh grade this year! I'm getting really old!" Scott asks Liam and Hudson as he feeds Gabriella some baby food!

"You aren't old, Papa! Don't worry about that!" Hudson says with a cheeky grin.

"Yeah Papa, other kids have way older parents then you and Dad. Like way older." Liam says as Scott chuckles at the multiple complements the boys just gave to him.

"Thank you, boys. I'm really glad you guys don't think I'm old!" Scott says to Liam and Hudson.

"And I am excited, Papa! I am so excited to see everybody and see what classes I am in this year! I hope I got in all of the classes I really want to be in!" Hudson says happily as he finishes eating his pancakes and drinks some orange juice. 

"Mhm." Liam says to Scott as he yawns and is already done with the day.

Liam doesn't like that he has to wake up early in the morning for school and he hates some of his classes but he loves all of the high school experiences like sports, friends, dances, game and other things!

"It is too early to be alive honestly." Liam says as he continues to eat his cereal and drink his chocolate milk.

"You should have gotten on a sleeping schedule a few weeks ago like the rest of us did!" Scott says, playfully making Gabriella and Hudson both giggle.

"Oops." Liam says playfully as he smiles at Scott, Gabriella and Hudson.

"Yum yum! Yum yum!" Gabriella says with a big cheeky grin on her face at her Papa.

"Mmm mmm! Is it yummy? Do you want some more, baby?" Scott asks Gabriella as Gabriella signs more with her hands, using her sign language skills that Mitch taught her.

"Good girl, and here, you can have some more! Mmm!" Scott says to Gabriella as he feeds her more baby food.

"Mmmmmm!" Gabriella says with a smile as she happily eats some more baby food.

Just then, Mitch comes downstairs and walks over to the dining room where Liam, Hudson, Scott and Gabriella are all sitting together and he smiles at the four of them!

It is such a rare sighting in the Grassi-Hoying household to have just a few kids at the dining room table and not all eight of them, but with school this is how the mornings are during the week.

"Da da da da da da!" Gabriella says as she gets very excited to see her Daddy.

"Hi, baby girl! And hi Huddy and Liam!" Mitch says as he kisses Gabriella, Hudson and Liam one by one.

"Hi, Daddy!" Hudson says with a big smile on his face at his Daddy.

"Hi, Dad." Liam says with a grin as he gets more excited to see his friends at school.

"And hi, Scotty." Mitch says as he softly kisses Scott and Scott kisses him back. 

"Hi, Mitchy." Scott says happily to Mitch, kissing Mitch again, making Mitch's cheeks blush.

"Ewww!" Gabriella says playfully, making Mitch, Scott, Hudson and Liam all laugh.

"It's not eww! I'm just giving Daddy kisses!" Scott says playfully to Gabriella and she smiles at him.

"Are you two ready for your first day of school today?" Mitch asks Hudson and Liam as he eats some fruit.

"YES! I am sooooo ready, Daddy!" Hudson says happily to Mitch.

"I'm ready too." Liam says with a cheeky smile at Mitch getting more excited to see his friends and girlfriend.

"That's good!" Mitch says as he sits down next to Scott, eating some breakfast with Scott and Gabriella.

Once Liam and Hudson are finished eating breakfast, they both put their dishes in the dishwasher while Mitch, Scott and Gabriella finish eating their breakfast.

Liam and Hudson both go back upstairs brush their teeth, fix up their hair and outfits before they come back downstairs!

"Let's get some pictures before you two need to get to the bus stop!" Mitch says excited to take some first day of school pictures for memories!

"Yay! I love pictures!" Hudson says as he happily grabs his first day of school board.

"I love taking my own pictures but I'll do these for you, Dady." Liam says, grabbing his first day of school board.

"Thank you, Liam. You will enjoy these pics once you are older!" Mitch says happily to Liam.

"Let's take pictures, Gabby! Yay!" Scott says holding Gabriella and Gabriella happily claps her hands and gets excited.

One by one, Mitch and Scott both take many pictures of Liam and Hudson with their first day of school boards!

Hudson smiles the whole time for pictures while Liam acts annoyed but smiles to get this part of the day over with.

"Adorable pictures, guys! You two always know how to pose for pics!" Scott says to Hudson and Liam making them both chuckle.

"Ba ba ba ba!" Gabriella says with a cheeky smile at her big brothers causing them to smile at her.

"Thanks, Papa!" Hudson says playfully as he twirls around in his uniform dress. 

"Thanks, Papa." Liam says with a a big grin.

Mitch, Scott, Gabriella, Liam and Hudson all go back in the house together and Liam and Hudson get their backpacks, putting them on their backs.

"Okay, you two! I want you two to have a great first day at school! Be respectful to all of your teachers and everyone you meet and have fun!" Mitch says to Hudson and Liam, giving the both of them a pep talk like he does every single school year.

"I will, Daddy!" Hudson says as he fixes his shoes.

"I will too!" Liam says as he drinks his water.

"Be careful going to the bus stop! Stay together!" Scott says to the boys, wanting them to be safe.

"We will!" Hudson and Liam both say in unison, already knowing what to do.

"Bye, Dad! Bye, Papa! Bye, Gabby!" Hudson says, waving at Mitch, Scott and Gabriella.

"Bye bye!" Gabriella says as she waves goodbye at her big brothers.

"Bye, Dad, Papa and Gabby." Liam says with a grin at Mitch, Scott and Gabriella.

"Bye, babes!" Mitch says with a cheeky smile at his oldest sons.

"Bye boys!" Scott says at Liam and Hudson as he, Mitch and Gabriella watch Liam and Hudson walk over to the bus stop which is down the street.

"Ba ba ba!" Gabriella says pointing at Liam and Hudson walking outside.

"Yeah! Liam and Huddy are heading to school!" Mitch says to Gabriella in a babyfied voice and she smiles not knowing that that is.

"Two down, five to go!" Scott says playfully, making Mitch giggle and smile.

Scott, Mitch and Gabriella all sit and wait for the rest of the kids to wake up and get ready for the school day!

An hour later, Mitch and Scott both make sure Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel are all up, getting dressed and ready for their school day!

Mitch helps Amelia get dressed, ready and her hair styled while Scott helps Joel get dressed and ready!

Sophia, Isabella and Sawyer can all get themselves dressed and ready for school!

Once Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel are dressed and ready for the school day, they all come downstairs to eat breakfast!

Sophia is having waffles, Isabella is having Fruity Pebbles cereal and Amelia and Joel are both having pancakes!

"Ba ba ba ba!" Gabriella says, already eating a snack, causing Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all giggle and smile at her.

"Gabby already wanted a yummy snack this morning! Yum yum!" Scott says as Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all smile at her.

"Gabby will go to school with us next year!" Amelia says as she smiles at her baby sister sitting on Scott's lap.

"Probably! I think she will really like that! What do you think, Gabby? Do you think you would like school?" Scott says to Gabriella.

"Ya ba ba ba!" Gabriella says as she plays with Scott's nose causing Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel to all laugh again.

"And happy second birthday, Joelly Bean!" Scott says as he softly kisses Joel's head.

"Fank you, Papa!" Joel says as he kisses Scott on the lips and Scott kisses him back.

"Happy second birthday, Joel!" Sophia, Isabella and Sawyer all say in unison to Joel, causing Joel to get excited.

"Fank youuuuuu!" Joel says with a cheeky smile at Sophia, Isabella and Sawyer.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOEL!" Amelia yells happily as she hugs Joel and Joel giggles.

"Fank you!" Joel says as he hugs Amelia back.

"Ba ba ba ba ba, Jo Jo!" Gabriella says to her big brother as she happily waves at him.

"Fank you, sissy!" Joel says as he smiles at Gabriella.

"Are you guys excited for your first day of school today?" Scott asks Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel.

"YES! I am so so so so so excited, Papa!" Isabella says with lots of excitement.

"Yes, Papa! I can't wait! Today is going to be a fun and awesome day!" Sophia says as she smiles up at Scott and Gabriella..

"Yup! I am ready for school and I can't wait to see my friends and have lots of fun too!" Sawyer says as he smiles.

"Yes yes yes yes! I am really excited for big kid school, Papa!" Amelia says as she cheers.

"That's right, Amelia! You are going to be in big kid school this year! Are you excited about about?" Scott asks Amelia as he sees her excitement.

"YES! YES! YES!" Amelia says as she claps her hands.

"Cited for schwool!" Joel says as he cheers and he gets excited.

Just then, Mitch walks into the dining room and he smiles at Scott, Gabriella, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel.

"Hi, Daddy!" Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all say in unison to Mitch, making him smile.

"Da da da da da!" Gabriella yells, very excited to see her Daddy.

"Hi, guys! Happy first day of school!" Mitch says to Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel as he kisses them one by one.

"Thank you!" Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia all say in unison to Mitch.

"Yay schwool!" Joel says as he giggles and he gets excited at Mitch.

"Happy second birthday, sweet boy!" Mitch says as he hugs Joel and kisses him several times.

"Fank you, Daddy!" Joel says to Mitch with a cheeky grin.

"Are you excited to have yummy cupcakes during school today?" Mitch asks Joel and Joel smiles and nods.

"YA! I cited for up akes!" Joel says happily to Mitch.

After breakfast, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all go upstairs to brush their teeth and finish up getting ready!

Isabella helps Joel brush his teeth and fix his hair which Mitch and Scott both appreciate since they are busy getting the backpacks ready!

Once they are all finished, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all happily walk downstairs together!

"Who is ready to take their first day of school pictures?" Scott asks Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel causing all of them to get happy.

"I AM!" Amelia yells, excited to get her picture taken. 

"Me too!" Sawyer and Isabella both say in unison happily.

"I'm ready!" Sophia says with a humungous grin.

"YAY! Pic tures!" Joel says as he jumps around and gets excited to take his first ever first day of school picture!

One by one, Mitch and Scott both take many pictures of Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel with their first day of school boards!

After taking what feels like a million pictures, Mitch, Scott, Gabriella, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all walk back into the house.

"All of your pictures are very cute!" Mitch says causing Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel to all smile happily.

"Soph! Issy! Melia! Sawyer! Get your backpacks on! We gotta get to the bus stop!" Scott says happily to Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia!

Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia all cheer with lots of excitement as they run over to the mud room to grab their backpacks, that were hanging up.

Joel also happily grabs his backpack too, making Mitch and Scott awe and smile.

"Joelly, you don't need your backpack just yet!" Mitch says to Joel with a cheeky smile.

"Otay, Daddy!" Joel says, throwing his backpack on the floor causing Scott to laugh.

Scott, Joel, Mitch, Gabriella, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia all walk over to the bus stop together!

"I want you four to have a great first day at school! Be respectful to all of your teachers and everyone you meet and have fun!" Mitch says to Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia.

"I will, Daddy!" Amelia and Isabella both say in unison to Mitch.

"I will!" Sawyer and Sophia both say in unison to Mitch.

"And make sure you three listen to Sophia. She is the oldest and the leader." Scott says to Amelia, Sawyer and Isabella.

"Okay, Papa!" Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia all say in unison to Scott with cheeky smiles.

After Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer and Amelia are picked up by the school bus, Scott, Mitch, Joel and Gabriella all load up in the car and they all head to the preschool to drop Joel off for his first ever day of school!

Mitch, Scott, Gabriella and Joel all go into the preschool together with Scott holding Gabriella and Mitch is holding Joel's special blue and green vanilla and chocolate birthday cupcakes!

Joel happily hands out his birthday cupcakes to all of his classmates and everyone enjoys a cupcake!

Mitch, Scott and Gabriella stay with Joel for a little bit before leaving so he can learn how to be by himself.

While Joel is in school, Mitch, Scott and Gabriella all go out for a few hours before heading back to the preschool pick up Joel at the end of his day which is at 12pm!

Mitch, Scott, Joel and Gabriella all go home and hang out and wait for the rest of the kids to head home!

Once Liam, Hudson, Sophia, Isabella, Sawyer, Amelia and Joel all get home from school, they all talk about their days!
