•Chapter four•
I want you back now.
"Look at him," one of Taehyung's noonas said. Taehyung could feel their burning gaze on his bare legs. He rolled his eyes.
He was spending a few moments of bliss while doing what he loves, and they just had to spoil it all.
"His closet is surely stuffed with thousands of clothes. Why can't he dress up properly? He wears just shorts to dance practices when he knows that it may expose all of himself when he dances."
And? It is only you who looks at me because you're jealous. Taehyung thinks. They weren't that bad, but they did get upset when the reality of not being as good as him slapped them across their face.
He obviously disliked all of what they gossiped about him but didn't care most of the times.
They were in the same dance group, and they wouldn't surely be this popular if it wasn't for him.
All eyes when he dances are always on him.
He understood their jealousy.
They weren't as talented as he is.
They claimed that the huge attention he gets when he dances is because of his short and cropped clothes. They weren't ready to believe that he was more talented than them.
It was fine. People believed that omegas who dressed more and covered themselves completely are the ones who have a great dignity.
He didn't care if he wasn't dignified in their eyes. He didn't want to have dignity in other's eyes anyway.
"Of course, considering the clothes he wears, he'd definitely gain the attention of the alphas. They all just like him because he looks extremely captivating and beautiful."
Taehyung chuckled to himself.
At least you admit that I'm extremely pretty, better than all of you.
They speak more but Taehyung was disinterested in listening to them speak about his beauty. He knew it already; he didn't have to listen to them speak about it.
Yoongi has seldom told him that he looks really pretty, like a flower. He himself spent a few full minutes praising himself while looking into his reflection in glass or water right after waking up in the morning.
He was glad that Yoongi wasn't here at the moment. His smell of fresh leaves and wet grass was much stronger today and slightly bitter too because he was distressed.
None of the people he hates were around too.
He was glad that Jimin wasn't somewhere around, smiling at him and signalling him that he was going well. He didn't fucking need that kind of assurance from Jimin. He knew he was doing well.
Taehyung did a few stretches along with a few other omegas before dancing a few small steps little more.
He continued to mind his own business like always.
He smiled at the alpha dance trainer who smiled back at him curtly and turned away to look at how the other people were doing their stretches.
It wasn't a big deal.
These mindless people made it one.
"Look at him. He's just such a disgusting person. He didn't even leave the trainer and is trying to seduce a married man. Maybe he's just trying to find a new prey for his next heat."
What? Just what the fuck did she say?
Who gave her the right to say such pathetic things? How can they act like they everything when they know nothing at all?
Taehyung hated it when they brought their talk to his heat.
They didn't fucking know what he goes through during heat; he didn't have a right to act like they know everything.
They didn't know that he starts throwing up, sometimes so bad that he would throw up blood too; that doesn't happen to any of them. They could go through days of heat without problem, but the pain he feels within hours of it starting is much more than any of what they feel in their days.
They were just being insensitive, losing their mind in jealously.
He throws up, screams in pain, his cries never ending just because his heat was way more harsher. Maybe it was just much stronger in males than females, but it did fucking hurt.
He snapped his head towards them, the brown in his eyes turning to complete yellow too which again, was another characteristic of his beautiful self.
"Keep your voice low and gossip about me when I'm not around," he growled, standing up and keeping a distance of a few feet from them as he didn't have to go near them to dominate over them.
He didn't care if they spread shit about him to others. None of them meant to him anyway, but hearing things about his heat gets him furious.
Oh, just if Yoongi hears what this stupid girl was saying...
The elder girl who said the sentence which triggered him so much just glared back at him, trying not to get fazed by his dominating and ferocious eyes.
"If you can hear me well, why don't you try changing?"
"Changing? You want me to change and make myself what you want me to be?" Taehyung shook his head in disbelief, smirk forming on his features. "I'd rather be more of myself than be like you."
"You--" the girl seethed, her loud voice catching the attention of the people nearby.
"You don't know even how to respect elders. You wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the sacrifice queen Youngmi made!"
Taehyung shrugged at that. Yeah, he wasn't anything more than a poor man's son and would not be here, alive, if it wasn't for the queen's sacrifice.
Does that matter to him?
No.
Does it make him feel upset because he wasn't actually born a royal and didn't really have anything by himself because his caretaker was just an outsider at the end of the day.
But he was still living a much better life then theirs. Their bad luck.
He is still living in a palace, like a prince, while sleeping in a luxuriously huge bed with fluffy and soft pillows.
Not everyone is as lucky as him, are they?
Not everyone is attractive and heavenly powerful to attract the queen like he himself did without having to do anything.
And no, them telling him all this--this wealth is not his and he's a parasite leaching off of someone--wasn't ever going to convince him that leaving was better. He's shameless.
He rather sleep on the bed and recieve love from the queen than leave everything to satisfy the people and look "good".
"Well, at least I'm here now. Whatever the reason may be, I'm still more powerful than you. If the queen knows about what you did to her favorite omega baby..."
Taehyung shrugged, not completing his sentence. Just if his hyung or the queen gets to know about the things this girl was talking about him...
She would definitely get a huge punishment.
He was nothing less than a royal. They need to watch their mouths around him.
It's for their own good.
"Y-you!" She yells, getting ready to throw her fist on him but immediately had people coming to her and stopping her, warning her that it wasn't safe to hit him.
So much for an omega supremacy kingdom where all the alphas were sweet and well-behaved but few omegas like her were burning in jealously of other omegas.
"What are you doing?!" The girl's friend yells at her.
"Think before you do such things! The queen was his caretaker and has a soft spot for him. His hyung would bury you three feet into the ground if you hurt him!"
The furious girl scoffs at that and looks away. Her friend makes her voice lower as she whispered the next words which Taehyung did not miss,
"You can't just hurt the person the future king likes. He won't tolerate it."
These words didn't settle in Taehyung at all. He first, instantly, concluded that he heard it wrong and thought they were speaking about someone else.
But... The girl put her hands down and forced to a calm state. This made everything more suspicious to Taehyung.
"I don't know what Jungkook sees in him."
Those words made Taehyung's heart sink so much that he couldn't even feel his heart beat for a while. The words settled after a lot longer than it should have taken, and it took him another good moment to even understand what they are hinting to.
What?
What are they on about?
They have such a disgusting mouth. Why would they think that the crown prince would react to all this in any way?
Jungkook has nothing to do with me. Neither are we friends nor do we even speak to each other. We're complete strangers too; I barely know him.
Why do these dumb people think that Jungkook has a soft spot for me or even cares about what they say about me?
That's a huge level of stupidity.
But... Out of nowhere they... wouldn't take his name until there was a solid reason for the way they are thinking.
What made them say this?
What made them think such a ridiculous thing?
By the time Taehyung was brought out of his thoughts, the trainer had already calmed the situation down and scolded the other girl for not concentrating on the dance practice and speaking about irrelevant things.
But none of it mattered to Taehyung who still wondered the meaning behind his words.
Why would they say such a thing?
--------
Taehyung suddenly couldn't seem to take his eyes off Jungkook when the elder was around.
After his dance practice, he had headed towards the garden and found Jungkook sitting in a distance, peacefully reading from a book.
Somehow, the scene was so serene that he couldn't take his eyes off of it.
Jungkook didn't seem to know about his staring though. His scent was getting mixed up with the fresh flowers and leaves there; his own scent of wet leaves not being distinguished by Jungkook.
He frowned when he the elder smiles cutely after reading something from the book. Even though the smile didn't last long on Jungkook's face, it certainly did in Taehyung's mind.
It was so innocent and cute that Taehyung was put to a trance.
They're telling disgusting things about someone as pure as him.
It's not right.
Jungkook wouldn't love someone who he's not supposed to. Hoseok was rebellious since the beginning, so it was expected of him to like Yoongi or to fall for someone who is not a royal. Jungkook is not only a reputed prince but also also someone who would strongly follow rules like his mom.
They throaing dirt at him. And a king would never like to have their names stained.
I don't have anything to do with him, but I would never like someone as soft as him to get hurt by these stupid matters. I'm shameless and careless;.he's the opposite of that.
If just speaking to me could make him flustered, this would... This would break his sensitive heart.
I must put an end to this rumour.
Taehyung settled down on the grass and looked at Jungkook from afar. He didn't have anything else to do at the moment anyway.
He wished to hear Jungkook sing. He recollected that honey sweet and nerve soothing voice of his which could definitely put a person to ease instantly.
He loved his voice.
That was something common though. He hated Jimin but couldn't help but like his high and melodious voice which was nothing less comforting as the soft sound of pianos. Jungkook had a deeper tone but so soft and sweet just like he is.
And Taehyung liked his voice.
He didn't hate Jungkook.
He just didn't feel anything for him, so the thought of Jungkook liking him felt rediculous too. It was as dumb as thinking that people who walked by each other while walking on the road and smiled to each other for being courteous are dating.
He watched carefully as the male stood up--not knowing how long had passed since he had been staring at him--his shoulder muscles flexing so much that Taehyung just had to look away.
He couldn't resist stuff like that.
He couldn't resist strong muscles and cute faces. It was just a thing, and Jungkook was a proper look of what he considers manly and handsome. Jungkook easy to be an omega's--whose heart yearned for an outwardly strong and inwardly soft alpha--ideal type
Jungkook walked off from there to deeper parts of the forests. Taehyung contemplated on going behind him but stayed back.
His eyes landed on Yoongi, Jimin and Hoseok who were sitting in a far corner of the place, all happy and clingy with each other.
It made Taehyung's blood boil.
He shot to his feet and slowly sneaked in the direction Jungkook went because watching the handsome alpha was better than watching those sinners with his hyung.
x-x-x-x-x
Seems fast paced, but if you've read my previous books, you know that they have to go through a shit ton of things to get together :)
