•Chapter twelve•

Cyrus' king, Daesong.

"Where's the crown prince?" Taehyung asks a servant, eyes searching for a certain black-haired male. The servant only frowned in response.

"Why do you search for him?" The beta servant frowned and rolled his eyes.

After Yoongi's disappearance, Taehyung was getting such harsh treatment from everyone. Of course, Yoongi share of dislike was coming towards him now, but Taehyung didn't mind it. Unless Yoongi is happy...

Taehyung didn't care about these fuckers anyway.

It's not like their angry remarks and rolling eyes action made any difference to him and his life. The only problem was that it made him want comfort and warmth more than he would.

He'd spent a while away from his brother and knew exactly what it felt like to be lonely. But this was worse. He didn't felt the presence of anyone beside him at all.

It wasn't like he didn't try to make it better.

He went to Youngmi a couple of times, and the woman was kind enough to open her arms to welcome him to a hug. But neither did she ask him about what he was feeling, nor did she genuinely think of him even with him right there.

She seemed lost.

And it was related to that single letter itself. Taehyung often wondered what the matter was, but he removed it from his mind because he couldn't be of any help.

He needed someone.

The hole in his heart didn't vanish at all. It grew more and more painful every minute he was away from Jungkook while he felt the best when he was around Jungkook.

He was a common doctor so didn't know much about the entire thing that was going on but knew that this was related to some thing related to bonding of werewolves.

However, this longing and restlessness he felt when being away from Jungkook--who was currently trying to stay far away from Taehyung as he didn't want to show his face to someone who hated him--could be felt in any small bonding too.

Taehyung hoped it was that way and wasn't anything serious.

He wished that this effect quickly vanished because Jungkook was making efforts into moving on. He couldn't grab his hand and pull him back again when there was no future for them.

He was not going to be selfish now.

No matter what, if he was suffering, he would continue to suffer alone and not worry anybody about it. He'd learn to live all alone, if that was even possible.

But at present, there was no way he could stay away from Jungkook because he felt way too anxious while staying away.

Jungkook had become his source of comfort. He was addicted to the calmness he felt when he was around Jungkook because of whatever these changes were.

It made him hundred times happier when he was around the alpha and hundred times more lonely when he was away.

So he would do what he wanted as long as it doesn't hurt the alpha.

For instance, search for him and sit somewhere far away to look at him.

"Just answer to the point," Taehyung growled at the servant. When the servant continued to keep his mouth shut, Taehyung looked at a guard standing nearby and signaling him to come closer.

"What's the matter, Taehyung-ssi?" The guard asks softly, leaving the servant speechless.

Taehyung smirked smugly and scoffed. "Looks like you forgot that I'm still loved and respected by the queen, hmm? You'd be kicked out if I tell them that you're misbehaving with the queen's favorite omega."

The guard glared at the other person and growled when the servant didn't start speaking right away.

Some of them love me. Taehyung thinks, looking at the guard who seemed genuinely angered because the servant was disrespecting him. While some hate me.

I'm a slut. I'm a omega who only knows how to seduce and spread my legs for others. I'm someone easy to hate because I own a bad personality.

Yet, I'm not stone hearted.

It hurts me when they say such things.

I'm a human too. I'd feel equally humiliated and sad when they make me the bad person because they're blaming me for being me.

I've never tried to get better though. I don't want to change just to be accepted by all of them.

Jungkook must've changed himself to be accepted by me too...

Why does he love someone everyone's hates? It makes me feel so happy and guilty at the same time because I know that even if the world curses me for being like this, he has fallen for the real me.

And I'm grateful for it.

His love wasn't wrong. Loving someone cannot be wrong.

I can't accept it, but that doesn't mean that I should stay afar and hate him. I could be his friend.

Three weeks. It took three weeks of thorough thinking for coming to the conclusion that Jungkook was never wrong.

He was being wrong by forcing the desperate boy to switch into another person.

"Where is Jungkook?" Taehyung asks again. The servant first hissed at him for taking his name just like that, without addressing him as prince, before shutting up when the strong warrior held onto the handle of his sword.

"He's at the queen's chambers. They had something important to discuss."

"Is it about the letter?" Taehyung frowned. It's been so long since they received that cursed letter yet everyone's still tensed about the matter. "Who sent it? And what's written in it?"

"I don't know about what was written in it, but it was sent by a king of another kingdom. His name... Was king Daesong or something like that."

Daesong?

Isn't he that man who killed the queen's husband?

What does he want?

Youngmi paced around the room, hands folded before her chest while she inhaled and exhaled anxiously.

She couldn't feel settled. She was extremely lost and afraid since she received the letter from Daesong.

Queen Youngmi,

It's been long since the war when you created a treaty between the two kingdoms. I hope you haven't forgotten about this. I'd like to speak to you about it.

That's all the letter said. Youngmi remembered that she made this commitment because she had to save the few other soldiers of the kingdom.

Both kingdoms would be destroyed if they continued to fight, yet Daesong was too proud to accept defeat and continued to exhaust his power by attacking them even after the death of the king because the queen was coronated right after the king's death.

This doesn't happen in all kingdoms. The omega queens are too weak and cowardly to take this drastic decision of making themselves the head after the death of their husbands in war.

As a result, the kingdom falls in the hands of the foreign king who killed the current king.

But queen Youngmi had become the official head of Atlas after her husband's death.

She had to stop Daesong. She was also very inexperienced to get on the battle field and lead a war, so she knew she had to give up and make a treaty with the other kingdom rather than let more soldiers die.

And being in a weak state helped Cyrus, Daesong's kingdom, to accept this treaty which allowed them to ask Atlas to do something reasonable and not destructive in the future.

It was time to look to this treaty now.

Youngmi couldn't help but be worried knowing how pathetic that man is.

She was more afraid that this may pose a clear threat to her sons. Hoseok was too far away from danger.

But Jungkook was the future king.

"I'm sorry, son," Youngmi apologized to the obviously angry son of hers who had gotten to know of the matter just now. "I didn't want to worry you when you were already worried about Taehyung and--"

Jungkook shook his head to stop her from speaking.

He had told her everything that had happened, including the fact that he had helped Taehyung through his heat and how the omega claimed to dislike him.

She was already too crestfallen by just those words. She felt so much pain and couldn't imagine what Jungkook must be feeling.

That's why she hid all this.

But it wasn't right of her to hide something so important to Jungkook who had always wanted to take revenge from the man who killed his father.

Revenge? It was really unlikely of Jungkook to wish for such things, but he was a king who had a huge pride.

And his pride lay in the respect of omegas.

This pathetic man hadn't attacked them to earn land or money or any other such thing. If this was the case, there was no much of a reason to be angry as many kings wish to have a wide land and more power.

Daesong had attacked them because he didn't like that Atlas supported and loved omegas.

Jungkook couldn't just forget that. He was happy that his courageous father lost his life while fighting for omegas and hadn't backed away like a coward.

But it was up to Jungkook for the revenge part.

And he was already burning, boiling, due to the fact that this pathetic man had sent a letter.

He would stain his hands with Daesong's blood once he becomes an experienced king. Jungkook--though known for patience--was having trouble controlling his angered urges.

"Don't hide things like this from me," he said, voice so rough and hurt that Youngmi sighed. "I need to know when things are related to my father."

"You need to calm down, Jungkook. You cannot make a mistake recklessly. You're a royal blood; you need to be careful with your words no matter who is before you."

"I'd kill him--"

"Jungkook!" Youngmi yelled because her son clearly wasn't listening to her. "I just told you to remain calm!"

Jungkook looked so infuriated. Youngmi was concerned as her son barely lost his cool.

"He's a father of two children and is much more mature now. If he wishes for something, it would be for either of his kids or for his kingdom. You don't need to worry so much--"

"Do you think a man who attacked a lower kingdom for opposing omega supremacy could ever be a better man, mom?"

Youngmi sighed. She didn't know the answer. She doesn't have any much information about Daesong too. She remembers just bits and pieces of the embarrassment she had got when she had gone to form this treaty in the past.

"It looks like he will visit us. Make sure to not interfere when we're talking, okay? Let your mom handle this. Just... Just concentrate on Taehyung."

"To feel more pain?" He asks. "I'm trying to avoid him as much as possible because he doesn't like it. I would rather not try to think about him."

Youngmi huffed out. She felt guilty for not being able to concentrate on Jungkook and Taehyung.

She wished for things to get better. She didn't know how true Jungkook's feelings were, and if he was to come out of this turmoil of feelings, she hoped it happened painlessly.

She wanted them to come together forever or go away forever. She didn't want either to suffer.

"Go rest now," Youngmi said. "We may not know when that man would come here."
