End Time Predictions

End Time Predictions

This is one of my favorite subjects. It's the idiots out there who keep predicting the end of the world that makes me laugh. Basically, most of them base their predictions on the Book of Revelations, which is not really about predicting the end of the world but rather the idea that God's kingdom will prevail against Satin's evil.

Let me count the many times that they've predicted the end time. Okay, that would require a large book. I'll just point out the recent ones, including Y2K, the millennium change that was to bring the world to its knees. The only ones who got rich on that idea were the programmers. Then we had Pat Robertson, the Southern Baptist pastor, who predicted multiple ends to the world, including April 29, 2007. May 21, 2011 was the date predicted by Harold Camping, an evangelist, to begin as a series of earthquakes. The Mayan Apocalypse was supposed to happen on December 21, 2012 based on the fact that the Mayan calendar ended on that date. Chris McMann, the leader of the eBible Fellowship said that the world would be destroyed by fire on Oct 7, 2015.

The latest dumb prediction was that the start of tribulation (the beginning of the end as shown in Revelations) was going to happen on October 15. David Meade used astronomy and the Book of Revelations to make his prediction. When that didn't happen he said that September 23 would have a magnificent sign in the skies over Jerusalem.

This guy also wrote the following books: 'Pinewood Derby Speed Secrets'; 'You can write the best selling info Book'; Web design for Authors'; 'Own a piece of paradise in the Florida Keys'; and 'Fraud Prevention'. As one commenter said; I'd be suspicious about the last two. Would you buy a prediction about the end of the world from some guy wanting to sell you Florida Keys land?

Actually, David Meade regurgitated the old idea of Planet X (which has also been called planet nibiru) crashing into Earth. There is a Planet X, but it's way out in the Kuiper belt billions of miles from Earth. This guy claims to be a self-proclaimed Christian numerologist researcher who wrote a book 'Planet X: The 2017 Arrival'.

The bad news is that a David Meade is also the name of a fairly famous UK speaker and entertainer, who has shows on the BBC. He has received death threats because idiots think he is the David Meade predicting the end of the world.

My take on this is that this is not going to be the end of the end time predictions. They will continue indefinitely. As I've said before, no one can predict the end of the world by using the Bible. The Book of Revelations was not meant to be a prophesy. It's considered to be apocalyptic writing because many of the images in it are from the Old Testament, which is full of apocalyptic writings. The Book of Revelations is a message written in the first century by a man named John, but not the Apostle John, who wanted to assure the early Christians being persecuted by Rome to not lose hope. The message was: eventually, Christ will prevail over evil. I know this because my son is a minister and has a degree from his studies at a seminary. He had to know both Greek and Hebrew and be able to translate original biblical manuscripts using those languages. He knows what the Book of Revelation says and he has even taught courses on the subject.

The bottom line is that these idiots who predict the end time are doing it to make money.

Thanks for reading.
