They're home alone, ready to start

Serena: Okay, so first we need one of those measuring cups, we also need a small glass bowl, a wooden plate, and a glass stirring stick

James: I'll get it!

A few minutes later

James: Here ya go!

Serena: Okay, now put on your goggles and gloves

She poured the methanol into the measuring cup, then added some boric acid, then stirred it all together, while saying:

Serena: We gotta stir it till it all dissolves. This caused the methanol to cool down a bit, and by the time all the boric acid was gone, it should be pretty cold

The boric acid dissolved, and James checked the temperature by putting his hand on the side of the cup.

James: Yup!

Serena: Now we can add the potassium polycrylate, which is a super absorbent polymer.

James: Wait, what are we making again?

Serena: A green fireball

James: Aw sick!

Serena: Anyway, after adding mostly a random amount, we can stir it around and occasionally add some water until the polycrylate slowly puffs up into a relatively solid blob.

James stirred while Serena occasionally added some water. In a few minutes, it became a solid blob.

Serena: Now we can pour out the liquid, and we should see something that kinda looks like a large marshmallow.

And it happened like she said.

James: Ooh, can I eat it?

Serena: Of course not! It's completely inedible, and it's also filled with methanol, which makes it extremely flamable.

James: I have no idea what these chemistry words mean that you said through the process but, okay!

Serena: Now, James, turn off the lights.

James: K

Serena: Okay, now we just need to slowly light it on fire.

A green flame light up the room, sort of.

James: Oh cool! Can I touch it?

Serena: Yes, but you need to wait for most of the methanol to disapear

A few minutes later

Serena: Okay, now you could hold it. But need to hold it like your jiggling, or immediately throw it, because you could easily burn yourse-

James: Awesome! *Burns* AAAAAAH!

Serena: OMG JAMES!!!

He dropped the ball, but Serena caught it.

Serena: Oof! Ah!

She threw it onto the plate

James: IT HURTSSSSSSSS
