the rocket ship, Thunderbird Three. This rocket is 287ft tall, with a body diameter of 70ft, with a wingspan of 70ft, the nacelle span of 80ft, while having a maximum acceleration of 10Gs (over 30,000mph). The drive system is an Ion-drive particle accelerator, with a hybrid electromagnetic/rocket motor. The vessel is in bright red with a white 'THUNDERBIRD' leading back to the dark grey fan-like structure in the middle of the vessel, with three arm-like protrusions on either side of the craft's body, which link up with the three-engine rounded base of the rocket, the number 3 in white on the base. The cockpit is located in the upper-middle of the rocket's body and it has 4 seats. This rocket has Engines: 3 chemical rocket boosters used for launch, landing, emergency boost, and orbit change, with 3 ion-drive particle accelerators used in deep space, along with pitch and yaw rockets. There are 12 boosters in middle ring for course corrections, 20 in the nose and 24 at the rear for attitude adjustments. The rocket has an atomic fusion reactor, an emergency acceleration of 10Gs, with a launch thrust of 4.5 million pounds, a max sustained acceleration of 6Gs, and standard acceleration of G1s.

The fire truck (also known as the Firecat)

The fire truck (also known as the Firecat) is an all-terrain rapid response vehicle that was bought and slightly redesigned by Jeff Tracy for International Rescue.

The vehicle is equipped with a rear-mounted water cannon that can turn a full 360º as well as tilt upwards 90º. The cannon can fire highly pressurised water and foam, along with powerful nitroglycerine shells.

Crew: 2

Length: 15 metres

Power: twin gas turbine engines

Water capacity: 3,100 litres

Water pumps: 9,000 litres per minute when connected to external hydroports

Width: 6.5 metres

Explosives Truck

The Gray & Houseman Explosives Truck, also known as the Explosives Tractor, is a vehicle seen in End Of The Road. The rear tray-bed behind the cabin holds an array of nutomic explosive launchers used to clear a path for the Gray & Houseman Road Construction Vehicle. The tractor weighs 16 tonnes.

The explosives truck has a crew of two, driver and explosives operator the latter being in charge of firing the rear-mounted nutomic explosive cannons.

Elevator Cars

There are at least four (one manned, three remote controlled) Elevator Cars. Each one is a twelve-wheeled, two-sectioned truck capable of travelling at speeds similar to those of an aircraft on landing approach. The rear section carries a large, flat platform that can support great weight. The trucks' bodies are red in colour. They are carried to the danger zone in Pod 3 of Thunderbird 2. Each Elevator Car is fitted with high-density Plasma Mould tyres.

The master Elevator Car - designated 1 - is the only human operated car of the fleet. A manual operator is needed in order to keep the pace of the fleet and make any fine-tuning needed to ensure they are positioned correctly underneath the approaching aircraft.

The master Elevator Car differs from the three radio controlled Elevators in that its front section is topped by a bulbous cabin where the driver/controller sits.

The radio-controlled cars follow the movement of the master car at some pre-determined offset, dependent on the aircraft and its structure. They are nearly identical to the design of the master car, except they have no cabin, as there is no need for one.

Height: 7.3 metres Height with raised platform: 26.6 metres

Length: 18.6 metres

Maximum speed: 320 km/h

Power: twin diesel electric motors

Weight: 12 tonnes

Width: 8.6 metres

Monobrake

The Monobrake is a low-slung search and recovery utility vehicle capable of either travelling along monorail tunnels or, by using its front-mounted cahelium strengthened telescopic arm. The telescopic arm can be attached to an overhead monorail. A safety hood behind the driver/passenger seating serves as a barrier from the extreme temperatures of the jet engine. Due to its low height, the Monobrake can drive in a monorail tunnel and have a train pass over it without incident.

Length: 14 metres

Power: gas turbines (ground level); jet turbines (high speed)

Seating capacity: 1 driver and 3 passengers

Speed: jet engine on monorail = 480 kph; caterpillar tracks on ground = 112 kph

Weight: 3 tonnes

Width: 5 metres

Transmitter Truck

The Transmitter Truck is a Pod vehicle featured in the episode Sun Probe.

The Transmitter Truck is a blue-coloured caterpillar-tracked vehicle with an attached Jodrell-Six multi-use antenna dish. The dish can transmit frequencies capable of controlling a spacecraft's operating systems to accomplish various things, such as activating its retros. The truck's cabin has two doors. One is located above the left-side front caterpillar track; the other is located at the rear of the cabin and is used to reach the generator housing area. The cabin is pressurised, making the truck a very versatile vehicle, usable even in areas with very little air, such as high mountains. The fuel tank is at the back left part of the truck. The dish is aided with a data amplification booster and a data processing unit. When the transmitter truck's di

Dicetylene Cage

the Dicetylene Cage is a piece of rescue equipment seen in the episode 30 Minutes After Noon. It is fitted with chemical foam extinguishers and can be lowered into the lift shaft of a burning building; a clamp fitment provides the means to salvage a disabled lift car beneath it. The chemical foam (Dicetylene) is a super-retardant compressed compound developed to extinguish even the most intense flame. Dicetylene foam has proved invaluable in a fire related rescue.

in 30 Minutes after Noon, it was never explained how the Dicetylene Cage made its way to the lift shaft of the burning Hudson Building. This riddle was later resolved in the Thunderbirds Manual (Agents' Technical Manual), which showed a drawing of the Dicetylene Cage Transporter. The Dicetylene Cage Transporter is a specially designed vehicle that transports the subsidiary carriage to the lift shaft. It is yet another variation on the Midget Minidozer, the others being the Booster Mortar and the Laser Cutter Vehicle.
