When Megu opened her eyes, the first person who greeted her eyes was Toshiro, a warm smile curved on his handsome face while he stares. Getting up with disheveled hair and remnants of heavy sleep, she stretched her arms and yawned.

"Ohayo Megu" The brunette sentinel greeted, "Did you sleep well?"

Dang she did, it was probably more than 8 hours of sleep, "I feel like a cellphone fully charged," Her back scratching stopped, "Wait," She was in her bedroom now that she noticed and the guy is sitting on her study chair next to the bed, "What are you doing in my room?!" The memory of the fight flooded her, "What happened to Hamael? And Riki?!"

Toshiro placed two fingers on top of her lips, "Daijobou, Megu-koi, no need to freak out" He leaned back on the chair, "You fainted because of using too much of your spiritual energy to keep the space frozen and unbreakable, the ice actually helps in preventing Hamael in using his power at full phase so in short we won and I don't know where he disappeared to, I already sent a report to our HQ about him so it's good"

"Did Riki return?" She recalled her friend wanting to leave the space for some important matters, "Is he okay?"

"He is fine, he told me that he went to do something as a means of atonement for what he did to you"

Megu murmured to herself, "Jeez, he shouldn't have done that," She looks back at him with a raised brow, "How did you get in here? Did Tama-nee let you in?"

"I told her I was pursuing her sister and made a good impression so here I am" A playful grinned spread on his face.

Megu covered her face in embarrassment, "I can't believe you did that! Damn you!" She hit him on the shoulder multiple times.

The school lives of Toshiro, Subaru and Kentaro went on normally, Huxley High School feels like a typical and dynamic campus again without any uncertain disturbance underneath. There's no hint of anyone recalling the recent destruction in Akaibara or the sudden darkening of their surrounding and everyone's stone statue moment in the mall, none of those linger in anyone's memories, not even the Student Council who used to roam the halls and act like a proper student.

"We still did not find any signs of the person responsible for breaking Eins' huge barrier around the city" Kentaro stated, the three of them are on the second floor of the building, just lounging and chilling outside while on vacant period.

Subaru leaned on the railings, "Yeah, it doesn't look like the HQ mind though, but I have this hunch that they knew the mysterious person, heck even the reinforcement they sent to fix the streets wouldn't say a word"

"What matters is the situation got under control and you two didn't get in any fatal danger" Toshiro told them, "What of Eins?"

"Ah, we haven't found him anywhere so I think he got disintegrated," The blonde Sentinel answered, "Those fireballs hit him really hard"

Toshiro let out a sigh of relief, "I am glad this is off our backs and we can find some quality time to relax"

A loud set of voices and laughter below caught their attention—walking out of the building was Megu who was talking animatedly with Ai then followed by Riki with Aki who was clutching his arm while the orange-haired male tried prying her off.

"Seriously, Aki, I am not going to disappear on you!" They heard Riki exclaimed. "What if my arm broke because of your hold?! Chill the F down!"

Megu chuckled, "Where do you guys want to eat? It's on me, Neechan gave me extra bucks for my allowance today!"

"For real?!" Ai looks at her in disbelief, "Then let's go get some pizza? With milk tea?"

"Pizza with cheesy crust!" Aki added, turning to her brown-haired friend, "Oh hey look!" She caught the three guys hanging on the second floor and pointed at them, "Megu-chan, Takamiya-san is looking your way"

Ai pulled her hand down, "Don't point them like that, it's too obvious Aki"

Megu stopped walking and turned around to look up, her brown eyes met his dark ones and felt the fluttering of the butterflies in her stomach, Damn that's so cheesy! "I can see that," She decided to wave at them.

Toshiro almost loses his balance when Megu flashed him a genuine wide smile.

"Easy there, you lovesick fool" Kentaro teased, smirking.

Subaru sniggered, "You are too obvious, Toshiro"

"I know and I don't mind" Toshiro waved back at Megu before the group started walking out of the campus to eat their lunch, "I want my feelings to be known especially to her and I won't screw around this time"

"We can go after them if you want?" Kentaro suggested, "Since we haven't eaten anything yet, that would be a nice way to you know get some new friends and not be labeled as weirdos"

Toshiro nodded to this, "Alright let's go"

"I am really sorry for everything, Megu" Riki whispered while the two of them stood on the line to give their orders while Aki and Ai are left in the table.

Megu nudged him, "Get with the program, Riki, that's last week and I already moved on, nothing changed between us I promise" And she meant it, there's no underlying distrust or hatred towards him. He did explain to her everything about his past, his power-hungry older brother and his position in Hamael's court.

"I know but still..." Riki exhaled, "I just want you to know that our friendship is more important" If he will be given a choice, this time he is sure that he will choose his friends and the life he currently has now.

"Thank you, Riki" Megu smiled at him, "And I also accept your past, whatever you told me I understand. But those things don't matter to me, what matters is our bond. I am sure more weird stuff will come again in the future with you being attached to not-so-normal stuff"

"Yeah but will you be okay with that? Now that you know about our existence and what happens behind all this stream of normalcy, plus your soon-to-be boyfriend is also not human," Riki received a playful punch after he said that, "Will you still accept it all?"

"I will, no matter how weird it will be" Megu didn't expect her life to be turned upside down in an instant after crossing paths with Toshiro—whom she deemed a standoffish at first sight, or that her best friend is actually one of those fictional beings she read in the books.

All the things she experienced and saw are hard to clear but she will never want it to be taken from her.

This is her new life now, her new normal.

Little did she know that more will definitely come.
