Rainberry woke up. She grinned, realizing today was the last day of school. She brushed her teeth, hugged her sister goodbye, and ran out the door. The air seemed sweeter, the sky seemed brighter, and she knew that the oncoming months of freedom would be ones that she didn't waste. Jewelry and Emerald Light trotted towards her. ''Hey, blank flank~!'' Emerald giggled. Rain sunk into her shoulders. ''Go find someone else to bug! You 2 are not ruining the last day of school for me, and ESPECIALLY not my summer!'' Rain lashed out, her horn slightly sparking in anger. ''Awww, is wittle baby bwank fwank maaad~?'' Jewelry cruelly cooed, as Emerald snickered. ''Stop it! I'll tell Ms. Cheerilee on you! I've threatened it about 7 times now, and-'' Emerald shoved the blank flank, growling. ''Don't be such a baby! Telling on someone makes you nothing but a tattletail!'' Emerald spat, as Jewelry scowled and nodded. ''Nobody likes a blank flank, and a tattletail.'' Emerald held Rain down, as Jewelry tugged on her hair, stealing her bow. ''HEY!!' Rain cried, bucking Emerald off, and chasing after Jewelry. Her eyes welled with tears, still chasing. ''BABY!'' Jewelry called, running to the school doorstep. ''GIVE IT BACK! MS. CHEERILEE-'' Jewelry kicked a soccer ball that was lying around at Rain, knocking her onto the ground. There was a large bruise on her cheek, as everything went blurry, then turned black.
''RAINBERRY?!'' Ms. Cheerilee’s faint voice called. ''RAINBERRY, PLEASE! WAKE UP!'' Cheerilee shook her, as Rain woke up in the nurse’s office. Her cheek was throbbing. ''Ms…. Ms. Cheerilee?'' Rain rubbed her cheek. It was cold. Ms. Cheerilee had put an ice pack on the bruise. ''Who did this to you?'' Ms. Cheerilee had a worried expression on her face, and sadness in her eyes. ''Nobody.. I… I… I walked into a fence post. T..That’s all. I’m fine, don’t worry. N-nobody’s messing with me, I swear.'' Rain forced out an answer, nervously glancing around the room. Her head ached, as she began to have a dizzy spell. ''You need to lay down for a bit.'' Ms. Cheerilee was extremely worried. What a way to start the last day of school.. Rain thought, rubbing her aching cheek.
