author note: for school, I had to let my family choose whether I intended to or not (luckily they chose I did) and my older sister picked the plot, which is: girl loses parents. (That is literally all she said so that's what you get lol)

     hello. I'm Elaine. I'm thirteen, and an orphan. I know it's cheesy, but it's what I am. My parents died when I was ten from a car crash, i was all alone. I had no other family, and I still dont. so I was forced into the orphanage.

     I wish I could say im exactly like Annie, but I'm not. I'm not getting adopted anytime soon.

     luckily for me, the orphanage isn't as bad as it is for Annie. our caretaker is amazing and truly cares for us.

     I guess im not completely alone. I have one friend in the orphanage, I have Jack.

     Jack's thirteen like me. he has black hair and has been here since birth.

     jack does not remeber anything about his parents, which I guess is a good thing seeing as they did leave him, that much everyone knew.

     jack didn't care though. I think he likes it in the orphanage. 

     just a few weeks ago some of us older kids (like Jack and i) were able to go to public school.

     school is different than I remeber but its been three years I guess.

     it's currently three A.M. I think, there aren't any clocks in our bedroom.

     you might be wondering, Elaine, why are you up at three A.M? It's because it's the only time I have to write.

     There's only one thing Annie got correct. we have to clean, every day. but it's only because we have people come by randomly and throughout the day.

     if state people came by and saw the mess the orphanage could become. . . we'd be moved immediately.

     I just heard a noise. . . bye journal!!!
