(( Bill's POV ))
There was sunlight sifting through the white curtains, it looked peaceful.
The pillows and blanket were also pristine white.
The pillow was large of fluffy, and I deleting myself sinking into the depths of the bed. I had a good sleep.
My hangover had also disappeared. I felt energised and refreshed. Lying still, I stretched myself ever so slightly , yawning.
I took in a deep breath before looking at the other side.
I almost jumped out of the bed in shock.
There was a girl lying next to me, her brown hair sprawled all over the bed. Her hair was radiating with the sunlight that basked her hair.
As I looked closer, I realised...
I realised, that her head was on the bed, yes, but not her legs. I went closer, and I saw that she was sitting cross legged on the floor.
If she had fallen asleep at this position, her neck must ache.
At this moment, her eyes fluttered open, and her eyes met mine.
"Oh Bill, you are awake. Are you feeling well?" She asked, concerned.
That was when I realised it was Bridgette.
"Yeah, thanks for your concern, did you sleep well?" I asked back and she nodded in response, moving her head from left to right, trying to stretch her muscles.
"Does your neck ache?" I asked again. She grinned at me sheepishly.
"Come here." Without another word I placed both my hands on her neck and massaged the scalp area near her neck.
"Woah thanks.." She purred, obviously feeling more comfortable now.
"You're welcome. Is this your house?" I asked again, looking around at the foreign surroundings.
"No.. It's Jackson's house..." She replied. Jackson. Isn't he the guy at the party?
I sat up, and her eyes followed me. That was when I realised that I was shirtless.
"Uh, you had vomit all over your shirt, so I took it off," she explained, upon seeing my confused look.
"Oh, is there a shirt that I can wear?" I laughed, as I looked around the room.
"I've been in Jackson's room a few times, I think it's possible to take one of his shirts. Let me pay him a visit, he's downstairs preparing lunch, see you,"
She exited the room.
I looked around, admiring the simple interior design of the house. Classy? Yet simple.
His wardrobe was quite neat for a guy, with the shirts in a corner, and the pants in the other corner.
I took a plaid white shirt.
Taking one last look at the room, I went downstairs.
The place looked so much cleaner after a day. After the party.
This house was indeed really, really huge. I had to take 2 flights of stairs down.
I saw them in the kitchen. Jackson looked fresh, with an apron, and with a wooden spatula in his hand, he seemed to be cooking some soup.
He saw me.
"Bill, you feeling fresh? Here I cooked you some soup, this will definitely make you feel better," he winked and motioned for me to take a seat at the island table.
I nodded, and as he presented a piping bowl of soup, I couldn't help but feel grateful for all that he has done.
"Thank you so much for helping me Jackson, I'm sorry I've been such a bother. And now you're making me a bowl of soup. I can't help but feel all the more grateful!"
"Ah, no worries. I always do good deeds like that, not to worry, not to worry!" His contagious humour made me crack a smile.
"No really, I owe you one, remember that," I said gratefully.
The soup tasted good. It warned me from my stomach, up to my heart.
Tomato basil.
We then chatted on and about what exactly happened last night. Bridgette and Jackson joined in as well, each with their own bowls of soup.
"Oh by the way, are we the only ones here?"
He nodded.
"My parents are too 'busy' at work," he scoffed.
I nodded. This sensitive topic shall be talked about the next time.
"Oh Bill, someone came looking for you just now," Bridgette said.
I looked at her for a long moment, before it clicked me.
Mabel.
What was the time now?
Close to 4.30pm already.
I've been out for that long.
"Guys, especially Jackson, I really really appreciate my help for you right here for today I will never forget this my heart is filled with gratitude, but I've to go now, I'm sorry for leaving abruptly!"
"Oh no, no worries," Bridgette grinned.
"Yeah no worries. See you tomorrow, Bill, my good man."
I stood up in panic.
"Oh and I will return you your shirt tomorrow!" He called out as I left the kitchen.
"I will too!" I yelled back, now running.
These two people were really nice, the nicest people I've ever met ever since I've arrived at this school. My heart felt overwhelmed, but above all, I was glad that I could now safely consider these two people my friends.
For one who offered me his home, even his bed and even gave me a shirt to wear and food to eat was definitely someone worth keeping.
For one who has waited for me to wake up just to see if I were alright was also someone who speaks of loyalty.
Although I didn't know them very well, yet the fact that they did all this for me just proved how nice people they were.
