Lucy's P.O.V.

I start walking towards dome eleven.  Realizing now how long it'll take, I start to run.

I start to increase my speed as I think about the fact that my opponent could be waiting this whole time.  I finally reach dome eleven, though I don't even bother looking at my opponent yet and catch my breath instead.

As I bring my head back up, we simultaneously notice each other.  My eyes widen in shock.

'Errgh Natsu!?  Of all people, Principle Makarov just had to match me with Natsu, the one person I can't beat!'

A smirk then creeps up on his face.  "I guess it was just meant to be."  He says as he lets out a little chuckle.

The smirk suddenly fades away into a rather confused look.  "Uh Luce?  Are you okay, cuz you're kinda shaking and starting to sweat a lot."

'What's he talkin about?'  I then realize that I've been slightly shaking since I made eye contact with him.  'That's weird.  Wait.....I'm not nervous about battling Natsu, right?  No, of course not!

I then start to remember the last time Natsu and I had a full on, serious battle, which was in middle school.  It was the first time someone could actually beat me and knock me out cold.  Though I was so confident since even Erza had tied with me, that day was still pretty scary.

I snap out of my thoughts and try to regain my confidence.  "I-I don't know what you're talking about.  I'm completely f-fine."  I mentally slap myself for stuttering so much.

He just smirks after a couple of seconds, not saying anything. 'I don't even wanna know what he's thinking about.'

I take a deep breath to help me calm down and get my head back in the game.

"I'm not gonna go easy on you, just so ya' know." He says, keeping that dumb smirk on his face.

"Good. I'd be offended if you did." I say, getting confident while glaring at him.

"Okay then, let's get started already." He says with a smile.

With that, we both step into the barrier. The outline of the barrier starts to glow as a transparent dome casts over us.

We stand there, glaring directly into each other's eyes, changing the aura from friendly to serious.

After a few seconds, we suddenly dash towards each other. While getting closer, I change into my Aquarius form just as he engulfs his hands in flames.

He attacks first, but I dodge. I attack him back with just as much power, and he dodges as well.

We keep going at each other, though no ones been hit yet. Every attack has been dodged.

"Damn, you've gotten a lot stronger since the last time we fought." He smirks as he engulfs his whole body in flames. "But it won't be enough to beat me."

He then sprints towards me. In one swift move he attacks me with his flames, finally hitting me. I get pushed back a little, almost losing my balance for a second.

I regain my strength, getting ready to attack him back. Swirls of water form in my hands.

"Water geyser!"

He gets hit with the massive amount of water. The attack puts out his fire, pushing him back a little as well.

I attack again, though he dodges it and attacks back with that fire dragon slayer magic of his. The attack hits me, but I don't take much damage.

I requip a celestial bow and arrow into my hand, though this one is made of the water through my Aquarius form.

I shoot five arrows at once. Not being fast enough, he only dodges two. As each arrow hits him, an explosion of water generates, hitting him with more than just the arrows' attack.

He seems affected, though it's still not enough.

We grow tired as time passes by from taking in many attacks and using up a great amount of magic. It feels like we've been fighting for hours.

We stand on opposing sides of the dome, panting and glaring daggers into each other's eyes.

'I have to get him with this last attack.' I think to myself as I keep panting heavily.

The burning pain in my body holds me back from starting the spell. My balance is unsteady from the numbness in my legs, but I manage to start the spell.

Natsu's P.O.V.

'Lucy's definitely gotten a lot stronger. She's putting up quite a fight.' I think to myself.

Though my body feels a bit unsteady and weak, the pain is bearable.

I notice that some of the finished students start to gather around our dome, waiting to see who wins.

"They're so strong!" Some random student yells in the crowd. "Wow, They look so cool, I'm jealous!" Another student yells. You can almost see the hearts in their eyes.

I don't let them distract me and focus on the battle. I notice Lucy starting a spell, still being in her Aquarius form.

I engulf my whole body in flames and start a spell of my own. We cast it at the same time, a giant force of fire erupting from my side and celestial magic from hers.

The forces meet in the middle, pushing with the same amount of power. All that's left is to see who can put more magic power into their attack at this moment.

The amount of magic power coming from the two forces is so great, that it's hard to even face forwards. I notice Lucy's face looks in pain as her hair flows furiously from the gust of magic.

After a minute my fire starts to slowly tear down her celestial force. I give it my all and put the rest of my magic into it, causing a massive explosion of fire to wipe her out.

As the explosion dies down, dust and smoke linger through the air. The air clears and I notice Lucy, back into her training uniform, laying on her back, panting heavily as her hand reaches up to her forehead.

I fall to my knees, catching my breath.  'I guess it's over now.'

"Hooray! The winner is Natsu!" Someone yells in the crowd. "Aw, but I wanted Lucy to win. She was so close!" Another person says. Many voices can be heard in the crowd, some happy that I won, and some others, not so much. Everybody then starts to walk away as the crowd dies down.

The dome starts to vanish as the barrier loses its glow. I then get up off my knees and start walking towards Lucy.

She's still laying there on her back. Her eyes are closed with an angelic look on her face while, in a fist, her hand lays on her chest.

I crouch down next to her. Not really knowing how I should wake her up, I just start poking her cheek. "Uh, Luce. C'mon, wake up."

Her eyes slowly start to flutter open as she looks over at me with confusion. She then pouts and looks the other way.

"Oh, hey Natsu. Good job on winning the battle." She says, still looking the other way.

"Thanks, but you put up a good fight too." I say in reply. I then reach for her hand and help her up.

"Are you feeling okay?" I ask her, concerned that she might be unsteady from our fight.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She keeps her hand on my arm as she regains her balance.

With that, we start walking towards our friends. As we reach them, I notice how beat up everyone looks. I let out a chuckle at the sight before me.

"Are you laughing at me, Flamebrain!" Gray yells at me while pulling up his sleeves.

"How could I not laugh at a stupid face like yours, Ice Queen!" I yell back.

"You're both a bunch of idiots!" Gajeel yells from behind us.

Levy starts to giggle at Gajeel while Juvia yells something about her beloved Gray-sama. Lucy tries to stop us from fighting.

"Oh Lu-chan, I almost forgot." Levy says, getting Lucy's attention. "You did amazing out there!" You can almost see the hearts in her eyes.

Juvia then joins in on their conversation. "Yes.  Good job, love rival. Whether it's a win or lose, you still put up quite a fight."

"Oh, Thanks guys.  Guess I'm gonna have to train even harder if I wanna beat that idiot." Lucy says, letting out a small laugh. "How'd you guys do?"

"I lost against Gray, Gajeel won against Elfman, and Juvia won against Lisanna." Levy says in reply.

Time passes by as the girls talk about the battles and everything that happened today. Meanwhile, I'm still fighting with Gray and Gajeel.

Wakaba then yells out to the class. "Okay class, you all did really good today. We're very impressed. The bell rings in ten minutes, so everybody needs to head inside to change, then you can go home. We'll post your ranks in the main lobby, and announce who goes into the FMR, tomorrow." He then walks away towards the other teachers.

Everybody starts clearing the fields. We start walking towards the mens locker room, and the girls head towards theirs.

'Thank goodness, today is finally over.'

Dat battle doe. I've always wanted to see a fight between Lucy and Natsu in actual Fairy Tail so that was fun writing. Let me know what you guys think in the comments (remember that this is my first time writing a fanfic so sorry if it's not the best) and please vote too! Thank you!!
