Chapter thirteen: Open House (Part One)

Okay, so I have not read Hammer of Thor yet. Just putting that out there, so let's say this chapter takes place before Hammer of Thor alright? Kay? Got it. No spoilers.

Chapter thirteen:
Ben Reilly
Class: Agent S.H.I.E.L.D
Codename: Scarlet Spider
Powers: Same as Peter Parker
Notes: Clone of Peter Parker
Dimension: Earth six

"Alright Seaweed Brain what was your bright idea?"

"First off Webhead don't call me Seaweed Brain. Only Annabeth can call me that. Secondly, I want to do something like a kingdom."

"Like Wakanda? Attilan? Atlantis?" I asked him. We were in the library going over our school project. Tony had given us the task of making a utopia, and the project counted for several different classes. We could build anything we wanted in it, as long as the world ran smoothly.

"Atlantis is a myth and what is a Wakanda?"

"Never mind, and aren't you technically a creature of myth?" I asked, smirking, knowing I had basically won the arguement with that counter. I didn't mention that in my world, Atlantis existed, and was ruled by King Namor.

"Oh shut up you know what I mean." I chuckled, looking back over the project guidelines.

"Okay, so it says here that we have three baselines we can choose from; City, Urban or Desert. Why anyone would choose desert, I don't know. Anyway, we can design whatever we like, as long as everything works together. I say we do something similar to Wakanda. Technologically advanced and a world where everyone is equally. We can pull stuff from the Ancient Greeks and Romans if you'd like."

"That's a great idea Pete." Pete.....Pete? But my name wasn't Peter....

Or was it? I am Peter Parker aren't I?

No.....no, I wasn't.

My name is.....is....

My name is.......

What's my name? Why couldn't I remember my name?!

"Your name is Percy, yours is Harry. Nice try you two." There was Percy and Harry attempting to try and be each other for the day. Hawkeye and Black Widow had caught them...

Barton looked straight at me, a smirk on his face.

"Your name is Peter Parker. Don't forget it." No!! That wasn't my name.

I am not Peter Parker!! My name is--

"Rise and shine!!" I jumped up, only to hit my head off the bunkbed. Miles Morales leaned over the side frowning, as I rubbed my forehead in pain, trying to get my heart to stop racing.

My name is Ben Reilly. I am not him.

My name is Ben Reilly. My life is not his.

My name is Ben Reilly. I am my own person.

"Woah, dude, are you alright?" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm fine Morales, now back up a bit, I don't need some ten year old kid looking over me."

"Excuse me? I'm thirteen!!" Even worse.

"Look, don't you have some stupid open house to get ready for? Like, isn't Mommy or Daddy coming for a visit?" I asked bitterly.

"Mom's dead. Dad might be coming, but Emma will have to alert his memories." I paused.

"I'm sorry." I said finally. Miles snorted, jumping of his bed.

"Sure you are." I glanced over at our other roommates. A silent son of Hecate and Edmund Pevenise. And truth be told, none of them looked like they believed me either.

^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^×^

The parents who agreed to come were set to arrive at one. Everyone was set to get into their class uniform, if they had one. If they didn't, they could wear whatever they usually did.

Breakfast was served at its usual time, and anyone not having a parent or guardian show up was told that they had to help set up. Whether it be help the Chorus get ready for their performance, or help the teachers with anything.

I on the other hand, had the stupid support group I had to go too.

"Now, last time you all were in here it didn't go so well." Iroh said simply, pouring himself a glass of tea.

"Superbrat over there stormed out and the rest of us followed. I would say it was a pretty good day." I sarcastically commented, knowing it would annoy not only Iroh, but Connor as well.

"It's Superboy." He grumbled.

"Not the way you act sunshine." Mentally, I cursed myself. I sounded too much like Parker...hell, I looked too much like it, but there's only so much you could do. I dyed my hair, but Reyna still recognized me like I was actually him. Or maybe she just noticed the similarities between the photo and I.

Speaking of which, how was she? Maybe I should do a check in...

No. I had to stay away from Reyna Arellano.

"You all are clones of great and powerful heroes. That makes for pretty big shoes to fill."

"No kidding." We clones muttered in unison. Iroh chuckled.

"But you do not have to fill these shoes. You are allowed to be someone else, someone different, someone new."

"No, I'm not." Connor muttered.

"Yes are you young one. You may not know it yet, but you are." Connor glanced down at his black Superman t-shirt, and I glanced down at my mock Spiderman costume. Granted, I had chosen Scarlet Spider as a name instead, but my costume was close enough...maybe too close?

"Can I go? I don't have the same identity issues as these idiots have." Laura snapped, about to walk out. But I guess Iroh expected that.

"You're right Laura, sit. Ben, you can go." I blinked, then frowned.

"Why?"

"Because you were not trained to be a weapon, you were to replace." Laura and Connor both looked at me, giving me a strange look. Not wanting to deal with that any longer, I left. Just as Iroh wanted.

"Come on man, admit it. We all did." I grinned, a slight blush on my cheeks.

"Alright, so I borrowed Harry's cloak and kissed Reyna. Big deal."

"Big deal?! The Reyna I know would've fought and almost killed anyone who even considered her pretty!! Forget getting a kiss!"

"Would you all calm down? It's nothing."

I shook my head. What was with all these memories popping up lately? I knew they weren't mine, but every one that pops up..tricks me into thinking they are.

The legacy of Peter Parker was something I doubted I would managed to avoid. I just hope I don't pull anyone down with me.

Of course, with the way Reyna looks at me whenever I pass her in the hallway, despite having told her to buzz off, I have a feeling it won't be that easy.

Artemis
Class: Agent, Young Justice League
Codename: Artemis
Powers: None, skilled with a bow
Notes: Mentored by Green Arrow
Dimension: Earth Two

This was going to be....fun...

Mom was excited about coming, and for obvious reasons Dad wasn't coming. I remember when I first got the offical letter; I was convinced she was going to jump out of that wheelchair and go herself.

But until she showed up later, Hawkeye had asked if the Archery club would help hang up the holiday decorations. Or to be more accurate, throw the wreaths around so they hang up perfectly.

"Nice one Artemis, living up to your namesake I see." Clint was more like that annoying older brother you had and less like a teacher. That did make his classes interesting of course, where you somehow managed to learn everything you would from Natasha Romanova; but with less fear.

I'm not saying she's scary of course. No less threatening than Batman.

"Admit it Clint, you just don't want to decorate." I said, causing him to smirk.

"Yep, pretty much. Now get back to work or you're kicked from the club." He was kidding, of course. Not only would Ollie not allow him to kick me, but Clint always used that threat. I wondered if he ever would follow through on it.

Before I could throw the wreath at my next target, Wally ran through, grabbing it out of my hands and superspeeding it to my target.

"Well, how does that look?" He asked, a wide grin on his face. I glared at him.

"What do you want Wally? I'm kind of busy here." He rolled his eyes.

"What, doing Barton's labor? Please. Anyway, I wanted to see who you were inviting to the Open House, if anyone." It was my turn to roll my eyes now.

"Only my mother Wally, because Dad and Sis are probably attending the Reformatory so why the hell would I invite them?!"

"Just double checking, geez, relax a bit would you? I wanted to know if you were inviting someone, cause if not, I know Uncle Barry wouldn't mind--."

"I don't need your Uncle looking after me Wally, but thanks for the offer. Besides, you know the Justice League plans on making an appearance." He nodded.

"Yeah, I know Green Arrow was going to look after his "niece" but I just wanted to know." Wanting to lighten the mood a bit, I grinned.

"So let me guess; you invited the whole Speedster clan didn't you?" Wally smirked, starting to count family members off his fingers.

"Only my parents, Uncle Barry and Aunt Iris, my--."

"Right. So the Speedster clan."

"Yeah, pretty much." I rolled my eyes again.

"Whatever Wally. Don't you have someone else to annoy?"

"Nah. M'gaan is with Ms Frost doing lord knows what, Connor is in therapy, Robin--wait, sorry Nightwing is with the Titans and well, you're here."

"Don't you have other friends?"

"Pietro is busy trying to get his younger sister to come. Something like Polaris? I don't know, I wasn't really listening." Well then, I guess I kinda have to talk to you know.

I mean unless Clint yells at him for being a pest....which of course he won't. It'd be hypocritical of him wouldn't it?

○~○~○~○~○~○~○~○~○

After we had finished decorating the hall, I went looking for Zatanna. After last year's big battle, she had started working closer with the two Doctor's to learn more about the dimensions. She claimed it was an interesting subject but it bored me out of my mind. Didn't help that I have no idea what they were talking about.

Instead of finding Zatanna, however, I found M'gaan, but she didn't look happy like she normally did.

"Hey Artemis!" She forced a smile when she saw me, and I didn't buy it for a minute.

"Alright, what's wrong?" I asked. A nice thing about M'gaan was you didn't really have to push to find out what she was thinking. She normally told you...or maybe she knew I wouldn't give it up. Take your pic.

"Ms Frost thinks that I shouldn't be holding back with my telepathy."

"And?" She paused, thinking of how to word it.

"Well....it's just....I'm worried about Connor and she thinks that there's no problem with me going into his head and finding out what I need to know."

"Other than it being a complete invasion of privacy and all..." I muttered under my breath. M'gaan nodded quickly.

"She knows from talking to Uncle J'ohn that Martians talk telepathically all the time, but I told her that Connor is picky about when I'm in his head being a clone and all....Ms Frost said that it didn't matter."

"Well Ms Frost can take her teachings and push them up her butt. I can't believe she actually replaced the Professor, but now we have to deal with her. If it bothers you that much just ignore her." Once I was sure M'gaan was satisfied with my amazing advice, I continued on.

"So why are you worried about Connor?" She froze, and looked ashamed of herself too.

"M'gaan?"

"It's silly I know, but after he met Laura Kinney I talked to this girl named Drew and Ms Frost and I'm afraid that he might like her better than me. And I know Raph doesn't like me some I'm afraid..this might be the end." She whispered the last part, but I caught it.

"M'gaan, you're being silly. Just talk to Connor about it, I'm sure he'll put your fears to rest. And talk to Laura too if you're still afraid. I highly doubt she'll dump Warren over a guy she just met." M'gaan nodded before hugging me tightly.

"Thank you Artemis!!" I chuckled.

"No problem M'gaan. What are friends for right?" M'gaan flew off before I could even ask her if was inviting anyone to the Open House. Probably not, just Martian Manhunter, but I still wanted to ask.

Also, since when was Connor in therapy? I mean, anger management I could understand but therapy? Nah.

Man I really needed to start paying attention to these kind of things.

Leonardo Hamato
Class: Mutant
Powers: None, skilled in Ninjiszu
Notes: Physical, Science formed Mutation; No X-gene
Dimension: Earth 3

"Are you kidding me?!" Raph, Mikey and I were gathered in Tony Stark's classroom. Over the summer we had sort of (Raph still hated it) gotten use to Donnie going back and forth between our dimension and Tony's. He was helping people, and he was enjoying it. Why shouldn't we be happy for him?

Of course, that didn't stop Raph from glaring at Tony whenever he walked by, and it certainly didn't stop us from storming into his classroom when Master Splinter told us that Donnie couldn't attend the Open House because he was working.

Yep. Stark was making him work today.

"Look, first of all, Donatello is my employee which means I am paying him and as his boss, yes I did make him work today. You know why? Because Stark Industries needs to him right now. Besides, he's already been the school and graduated, what is there left to see?"

"Who gives a damn what your company needs we want our brother back!!" Tony rolled his eyes, barley looking up from whatever he was tinkering with.

"You act like I'm holding him prisoners. Donatello works for me. I get to decide what he works. It's not even a weekend so it's not like he'd have the day off anyway. It's Friday, so relax cause you can talk to him tomorrow."

"Except we have school." I said, crossing my arms. Finally did Tony look up at me.

"Look, you're the Leader right? Tell your brothers to back off. I'm not changing my mind because you guys have your bandanas on too tight. Now do you mind? I'm trying to work here." I clenched my fists tightly, but I knew picking a fight with a teacher-- especially one like Stark, who could singlehandedly mess with our life here-- was a bad idea.

"Come on guys." I muttered.

"But Leo--."

"Come on. Tony's right; Donnie has a job to do now." Of course he started listening again when I said "Tony's right"; nothing gets a guys attention faster than stroking his ego.

"Glad you could see my side of this Leonardo." He said, but I didn't answer him. Only left the room, trying to keep my cool.

"Are you serious Leo?! You're just going to let him win?!" Raph snapped. I sighed.

"Look Raph, there wasn't much I could do. There wasn't much we could do."

"So we're just going to abandon Donnie like that?!" I rolled my eyes. Tony did have one point, we were treating Donnie like he was a captive.

"We aren't abandoning Donnie. Donnie is perfectly fine, and if he really wanted to come I'm sure he could've asked Stark for the day off, but as far as we know, he didn't. So drop it okay?" Raph stormed off, probably to rant with that Superboy kid. Did I mention that I really didn't like that friendship? Two hotheads hanging out is a recipe for disaster.

"Leo? When can we see Donnie again?" Mikey asked. He was the closest with Donnie, so he was always excited to see him again, and practically didn't sleep the night before Donnie was supposed to come home.

"I'm sure Stark will give him vacations off....we can see him then. I mean, he isn't completely heartless...right?" Mikey nodded, and ran down the halls, probably heading to his dorm to make sure it was presentable for Master Splinter.

"That would be correct Leonardo. Despite what most think, he is not heartless." I jumped.

"Adaeze!! I didn't see you there." She chuckled, smiling softly.

"I know your family has missed Donatello, and I can tell you that he misses you too."

"How do you know? Aren't you from Wakanda?" She nodded.

"Yes, but I do spend some of my time at Stark Tower, or Avengers Tower as it is now known. Donatello works very hard and loves being able to walk around but you can tell he misses his family." I smiled. It was comforting to know that he missed us as much as we missed him.

"Thank you Adaeze." She nodded.

"Of course Leonardo. Now, if you don't mind me asking, who are you inviting to the Open House?" We began to walk down the hall as we talked. I think we were heading for King T'Challa's classroom.

"Master Splinter, April and her Dad, and Casey. April wants to speak with the Headmaster's about getting enrolled here, since her Dad turned down the first invitation she got."

"Is she a mutant?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yep. She is also been training with Master Splinter and the rest of us." As we continued to walk, we also continued to talk. I told her about the Kraang, Shredder, and the Foot Clan, and she told me about Weapon X, Magento and the Hand.

"This is my stop." Adaeze said, once we finally made it to King T'Challa's classroom. No one I knew referred to him as Professor T'Challa, it was also King T'Challa. Professor T'Challa sounded weird.

"Go, see your Master. The parents should be arriving soon." She added, giving me a small kiss on the cheek.

"I'll see you later." I said. Which was true, as both Mikey and I had King T'Challa as a teacher.

She smiled and vanished into the classroom, and I made my way to the front of the school. The other students were gathering here as well, excited to meet their familes, or anyone else they invited.

"I still don't like her." Raph muttered to me, once I had found him and Mikey in the sea of children.

"Well then I guess it's a good thing I didn't ask for your opinion." I retold, but before he could reply, Mikey started to jump up and down excitedly.

"There he is!! Master Splinter!!!"

Magnus Chase
Class: Demigod, Norse
Godly Parent: Frey
Powers: Increased strength, healing abilities, Peace of Frey
Dimension: 4th Earth
Notes: Does not have a counterpart in Earth 6

"Okay, so I said you could come, but what is he doing here?" I pointed at my cousins boyfriend, who had a wide smirk on his face.

"I invited him along Magnus." Annabeth said with a smile, looking up at the guy next to her. I rolled my eyes. She should've left him at the beach where she found him.

"Right, whatever, okay. Now we just need to find Blitz and Hearthstone."

"Who? What kind of names are those?" I think his name was Percy, but I wasn't going to make an effort to learn it. I may have not seen Annabeth in awhile, but I knew she didn't have an older brother. Might as well take up that role right?

"Dwarf and elf names of course." I said. I quickly spotted them soon afterwards, as Blitz was trying to hide from the sun while Hearthstone looked quite happy that the sun was out.

"I thought you said you knew someone who could control the weather." Blitz said accusingly once we met up.

"Headmistress Ororo said that where she'd love to help, the school would be more welcoming under sunlight. However she does apologize." I recited, remembering the conversation I had with her only a few hours ago. I had to admit, that the school did look better under sunlight, but I wouldn't tell Blitz that.

Hearthstone moved his hands in a few quick positions, and I frowned, looking at Blitz.

"Is he asking about Sam?" The latter nodded, and Annabeth frowned.

"Sam? Daughter of Loki correct?" I nodded.

"Yeah, she's with her family. She told me to avoid her at all costs while she's with them, just in case I slip up and Frost can't catch it fast enough. Besides, she has her new friend Kamala she can hang out with." Sam became friends with Kamala after the whole "Muslim=terrorist" thing happened. I guess she was another victim of the bullying and Agent Coulson suggested that she talk to Kamala. They've been like, best friends ever since.

"Well then, show us the way Magnus." Mr. Chase said. I jumped, nearly forgetting that my uncle was there.

"Uh...right. We were told to follow our schedule to make it easier and everything....so um, my first class is Spy Skills, with Agent Barton." Percy chuckled.

"Still can't believe they gave Clint a class." Forget Clint, Stark was a menace.

"Lead the way Magnus, we are your guests of course." Blitz said, while Hearthstone next to him gave me a thumbs up. I grinned, somehow managing to find some confidence.

"Alright guys. Welcome to Hero High, so far the best school I've ever been too."

"True." Percy muttered. I looked at him.

"Troubled youth?" He smirked.

"Am I troubled kid? Yeah, I guess you could say that." He recited, as if his whole life was for this exact moment where he could say this exact line.

"Okay then...um, anyway, can I just say how long it took for Doctor Strange to explain that he was actually Doctor Strange and not someone cosplaying as him? And how many times I called Tony Stark Robert Downey Jr?"

And vacation is over. *sighes*

Oh well. The next chapter will probably focus around the Mills-Swan clan as they meet Henry's teachers (can't wait for Regina to meet Stark). Oh and probably some other characters too. Maybe a musical number. Who knows.

Peace!! ^-^
