Chapter One

"I still can't believe I'll be a senior this year... its honestly scary." Alice says to herself. After all I'm now living on my own. Then again, mom and dad practically forced it upon me to move out as soon as I turned seventeen. I don't blame them they shouldn't have to worry about me and getting the house fixed at once. Ever since the last storm here, the house has been falling apart like crazy. Hopefully once I get a part time job I can help them out with bill's and such ever so often. Alice then looks outside to see that it's a pretty nice looking day. I might as well go out and buy a few things for my apartment, mostly for dinner, "errell." Her stomach growls. She goes and grabs her apartment keys and wallet. She then proceeds to lock her apartment behind her and heads toward the train station. She arrives to see an anonormous amount of people. "Just great." She mumbles to herself and sighs. And here I thought it'd be a peaceful afternoon. She sighs once more. "Oh well, it can't be helped." She gets abroad the train, to immediately be squeezed against the other side of the cart up against a window. She tries to push her way through the crowd to another spot that she can at least breath. She luckily see's a clearing more towards the far end of the cart. She quickly squirms through the many cluttered people on the same train cart. After a minute or so of pushing past many strangers, she finally reaches the end of the cart. She let's out a gentle breath, now being able to breath. She decides to go sit by a window. She gazes out the window admiring the scenery. Alice then hears a faint sound of music next to her. She doesn't care much up until the point it suddenly gets extremely loud. She looks over to see a boy with vibrant cyan hair and wearing headphones. He appears to be tapping his legs, what was assumed to be to whatever music he is listening to. She taps him on the shoulder, his tapping on his legs immediately come to a hault and he nearly falls out of his seat. "Ah!" He says clearly shaken up a bit. He looks over to Alice, eyes widened. "Um, sorry. Didn't mean to scare you. It's just, your music's a little loud." Alice says to him. He looks the other direction, embarrassed. He apologizes and goes to turn his phone volume down. As he does Alice catches a glimpse of his phone screen. "He's listening to one of my favorite bands." She taps his shoulder another time. "You have some good taste in music." He blushes at her compliment. He then pulls up a music playlists and shows it to Alice. "Thanks! Their one of my favorite bands to listen to." He says with a smile. "Woah! You have their entire album?!" Alice says with excitement. "You must be a really big fan huh?" She says smirking. He nods and proceeds to scroll through the many songs. He then points to one in particular. "This ones my favorite from this album of theirs." I notice him pointing at a pretty romantic and sappy song. Interesting I always thought guys hated that one. Most people I know who are fans of the band say that song was total garbage. Alice then looks to him and says, "Really? Kinda odd since it's a romance song and you're a guy." He blushes at her comment then frowns. "Well that doesn't mean it's bad..." He rubs the back of his neck. "Fair point." He looks at me a little weirded out from my response. "What's your favorite song from them?" He asks. "I guess I'd have to say, "Shallow Tears." "Hm, I don't think I've ever heard that one?" He responds. I look at him shocked. How can this guy have their entire album and yet not know one of their most popular classics?! "Are you for real?! Give me your phone." Without even caring I snatch his phone away. I look up the song and instantly press play. He listens to the song and starts tapping his hand to the rhythm of it. "Pretty catchy right?" He nods his head at me. He takes his headphones off and smiles at me. "Man, this may be my new favorite by them." He says. "Glad I could share it with you!" I smile and wink at him. He instantly turns bright red and looks down towards his lap. After his face returns to normal he looks back up at me. "Um, my names Alexander, but my friends call me Alex." "Mines Alice, nice to meet you." Alex fidgets with his headphones cord. "I never met someone who knew that band even existed." He awkwardly smiles at Alice. "Are you kidding me I've know about them since middle school! They were my jam!" He laughs. "Really? I didn't know girls liked rock bands?" I look at him confused. "What's gender got anything to do with music taste?" He then looks scared and as if he offended me. "I mean, most girls I know aren't into it. Not saying it's wrong or anything." He dejected. Well I never knew not many girls listened to rock? Guess I'm just not your "average female." "Well I do and I quite enjoy it, thank you very much." Alice huffs and crosses her arms. He giggles and smiles at her. "Yeah and that makes you pretty cool." He blushes and quickly looks away. "Ring!" "Well it was nice talking to you Alex, but this is my stop. Hope you enjoy that song." I smile and get up. As I leave the train I can't help but smile at the short interaction I just had. I walk to the store and wonder if I'll ever meet him again. "Man... oh well I guess." I arrive in front of the store. "Finally, food!"
