About the Book of the Month - Near Touch

Near Touch which is a Paranormal YA romance, I'm currently working on Polyculture which is BTS Fanfic full of romantic twists and turns. I'm really excited about that!

1. What do you love the most about writing on Wattpad?

I love the community and the friends that I've made on Wattpad! It is absolutely my favorite place to be creative and feel inspired.

2. The blurb of "Near Touch" mentions "a love story for the fearless." Could you elaborate on the central theme of love in the story and how it connects with the supernatural elements?

That's an interesting observation! I was inspired by the exploration of the concept of whether the heart (physical) or the mind (mental) is stronger when it comes to romance Adding the supernatural elements just made the story feel more concrete. That fear of losing someone before you've ever truly had them runs the gamut in the book and that is the challenge that the blurb reflects. Is your heart strong enough to bear it all? 

Also, I'm a huge Swiftie so the play on words was too irresistible for me.

3. Can you provide some insights into the backstory and motivation of Caleb as a character? What drives him and makes him a "bad boy supreme"?

Caleb is a victim of circumstance. Without spoiling too much, because discovering the many nuances of his character is one of the best parts of Near Touch, all I will say is that he is someone I would've loved to have in my corner growing up. Anybody who was alone as a teen would relate to the idea of wishing for a Caleb Dawson.

4. Caleb's appearance is said to make everyone angry and alone, except for Amy. What can you tell us about the connection between Caleb and Amy, and how it evolves throughout the narrative?

Caleb and Amy have possibly the most central connection in the novel, especially since the exclusivity of this bond is the focal point. It evolves in the most vulnerable way from being completely at odds with each other's perspectives to reaching an understanding that is rare but oh so precious.

5. Which type of young adult or romance concept intrigues you the most?

I am a sucker for the young love that got separated for a time but comes back stronger than ever trope. Imagine me singing the chorus of This Love by Taylor Swift and you'll get a fair idea.

6. Do you have any favorite young adult romance related stories? On Wattpad or published?

My favorite young adult romance novels on the platform are by AudreyHornesHeart and off Wattpad, I adore John Green's novels.
