About The Book Of The Month

Caleb is an ordinary teenager living a somewhat drama-free life. Well, at least until a tall and handsome angel crashlands in his backyard with a damaged wing, a broken memory, and a whole lot of unwanted trouble.

1. What aspects of writing on Wattpad do you find most enjoyable or fulfilling?

THE COMMENTS. Something I feared when posting, that turned out to be the thing I love the most now is when people leave comments on my story. It can be anything from pointing out a silly plot hole in my writing, to showing some sort of appreciation. It can make my day, and I really appreciate it.

2. Could you describe the inspiration and creative process behind your book featuring a boyxboy romance?

A lot of the media, both books, movies, series, etc. lack quite a lot of LGBTQ representation, especially as the main focus. As a kid I would have enjoyed getting those silly romance stories but with an LGBTQ focus, which is initially what inspired me to start writing my story, Fallen. And once I started writing, the process became really simple and the words just flew out onto the pages.

3. While writing a story about fallen angels, what were the major obstacles you encountered and how did you approach incorporating historical/mythological references?

I don't have that much historical and mythical knowledge, which made writing my story a bit difficult because I was afraid I wouldn't do angels and other references justice. Truth is, angels can be a lot of things, and I just decided to put my impression onto it. After all, it is what you make it out to be.

4. Would you mind sharing some of your favorite movies/TV shows or novels that have influenced your storytelling style?

While writing Fallen I was deep into the Simon Snow book series by Rainbow Rowell which also inspired me to write my own story. I love the fantasy genre and I loved the romance between Simon and Baz.

5. If Michael hadn't unexpectedly crashed into Caleb's backyard, what alternative outcome do you envision for Caleb's life?

That is a good question! Michaels' influence on the trajectory of Caleb's life is huge. So If not for him, Caleb would probably be doing the same boring thing, which is looking out for his sister, hanging out with Tina, and eventually heading off to college.

6. As we are celebrating Pride Month, what is your advice on writing an LGBTQ+ themed story and message to the LGBTQ+ community?

Telling stories with LGBTQ+ characters as the main characters is a very important and huge thing. You can find tons of books about straight romances throughout history but the LGBTQ ones have always been silenced in some way or another. By writing and sharing LGBT-themed stories, you're working towards making a difference, big or small doesn't really matter. It's the thought that counts. So my message to the LGBTQ community is to never be quiet and to share your stories proudly because they deserve to be heard, even if they're incredibly silly like mine :))
