"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked.
Jimin took out the batch of cookies they had baked together and sighed shaking his head. "Nothing much Kook. Just have a lot on my mind. Do you think the guards will like the cookies?"
"They'd be stupid not to. You're the best baker I know. Your chocolate chip cookies are to die for. Plus, if they don't like them you can order to cut off their heads."
"Off with their heads!" Jimin joked with a giggle.
"Off!" Jungkook echoed with a grin.
After their little commotion died, Jungkook started cleaning the kitchen. Jimin was already wiping the table that had flour and sugar all over it.
They had baked three cakes, two batches of blueberry muffins and four chocolate chip cookie trays. This was one of Jimin's favorite hobbies one that he enjoyed doing while he was happy. It only confirmed what Jungkook already knew.
Taehyung was right and Jimin was definitely in love. As much as he tried to tell himself he wasn't, it was quite obvious. He now knew that this was no longer about gaining immortality.
"You're in love with him aren't you?"
Jimin stopped wiping the table and looked up at Jungkook. He thought of denying everything and playing it off, but there was no use in lying. He was a terrible liar.
"Yes. I am."
Jungkook sighed and nodded, "You've been in love with him for a while now."
"No. I just started to actually like him and I don't know where it turned into love. It was recently. I don't know how it happened."
"Is that why you've been so upset?" Jungkook asked. He knew something deeper was bothering him and he wanted to know what.
"Not really. Well, I guess that's part of it."
Jungkook approached him and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Let me hear you out. Let me help carry your anxiety and pain. It always feels easier to carry something heavy when another person knows your worries."
Jimin immediately wrapped him up in a hug. A very much needed one. He felt a sudden relief to have a friend so dear to him say those words.
Jungkook always knew what to say and when to say it. His timing had always been perfect and comforting. It was a warm cup of tea.
"Vernon showed me my past lives Kook. Now I can't stop thinking about them. They're driving me crazy. They stay on my mind like a broken record on repeat. I confused my reality with my past ones. I don't want to know a life where you're not my best friend. I don't want to know a life where I'm not with Yoongi. Knowing about it makes me second guess everything that's happening now. I wish I wouldn't have been so curious to begin with."
Jungkook kept holding him tightly as he heard his friends' worries. "It's okay Jimin. You will be okay. I know right now the nerves and anxiety seem never ending, but believe me it'll come to an end soon. You are going to be fine. Those memories do not define who you are today or what your life is going to be like. You said it yourself, they're past lives."
"Thank you for your words. I appreciate you."
"I wish you would've told me sooner. I might not be able to fix it, but I could've been there for you on a deeper level."
"I was afraid you'd think I am forgetting our plan. I'm still going to get us immortality. Trust me I haven't forgotten. I will get us our immortality Kook." Jimin said, pulling away from the hug with a smile.
Jungkook kept quiet and he felt his heart race as soon as he thought about telling Jimin how he truly felt. At last, he remembered Taehyung's words.
"Jimin, has it ever occurred to you that I do not wish to be immortal?"
His eyes widened in shock, "What?"
Jungkook leaned against the kitchen counter. His confidence in admitting it out loud had diminished. He was unable to respond to his confused expression.
"You don't want to be immortal?" He whispered.
Jungkook finally looked up and met eyes with him, "No. I don't. I've never wanted to be."

Jimin felt his eyes get heavy as the cloud of sleepiness fell over him. Once his eyes were nearly closed, he remembered his conversation with Jungkook and he was unable to rest.
Since their last talk he had been thinking about it. Wondering how long Jungkook had felt that way. Wondering why he never noticed that's the way he felt.
Had he always been so consumed in himself that he didn't think of Jungkook? Knowing that made him sick and embarrassed.
Once he heard the door open, his eyes traveled to the entrance and saw Yoongi. He subconsciously smiled and yawned.
"It's quite late. You should be sleeping."
"You should be sleeping too." Jimin mumbled.
Yoongi took a seat on the bed and watched as a sleepy Jimin drifted in and out of sleep. He placed his hand against his warm face.
"There you go. Fall asleep." He cooed. When he was convinced Jimin had drifted to sleep he got up from the bed to go to the couch.
Jimin then opened his eyes abruptly sitting up. He grabbed Yoongi's hand and pulled him back. "Don't go. Please."
"I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be here."
"Can you stay in bed with me while I fall asleep?"
Yoongi debated it for a second, but eventually gave in. He laid back against the bed frame as Jimin laid his head against his chest.
It was cold, not a horrific cold but a comfortable one. Jimin felt his face slightly burn from the contrast of his body heat against his cool body.
"What has you up?" Yoongi wondered.
"A lot of things." He murmured.
"Like what?"
"For starters, my friend confessed to me that he doesn't want to be immortal. This whole time I thought he wanted to. I was so selfish to not even think about how he felt."
"I can see why that would make you feel that way, but if he never openly told you how were you supposed to know? Does it bother you that he doesn't want immortality?"
"No. It does make me sad though. If I ever turn immortal and he doesn't I am going to lose him."
"I don't see it that way you know? At first I felt that way about my father. Looking back at it now, I know it was a great loss. A loss no one can ever repair, but his impact and his love are also something that will forever stay with me. As long as I am king I will have his image in my memory. If your friend decides to stay human you shouldn't blame him. He should get his choice and live the way he wants to. Don't think of the future so much Jimin. There's no use of worrying about the unknown. Live in the present."
"I know, but it's scary because I always envisioned my life one way and it ended up being the complete opposite."
"Life never goes as planned, but sometimes that's what brings you happiness."
Jimin nodded. Marring the king of Caaia was never part of his plan and yet it was one of the things that had made him the happiest.
"Is that everything on your mind?"
"No. I'm also afraid you don't want to go on a date with me."
"Why would you think that?"
"Because you've been acting really weird."
Yoongi slightly rested his head on him, "We're still going on a date. We have to know each other."
"What are we going to do?"
"Whatever you want." Yoongi responded.
"I want you to take me everywhere you've ever been. Even if it's just inside this castle."
Yoongi laughed, "It's not so interesting you know, but I do have this place I would like to show you."
"Will you tell me everything about you?"
"If you want me to."
"Only if you're comfortable with me knowing."
Yoongi smiled, "I think I am."
Jimin smiled too as he closed his eyes, "Me too."
Yoongi felt it again. The sweet warm sensation radiating throughout his extremities. The silly butterflies in his chest and the way his lips tingled at the thought of kissing him.
"Jimin, I think I'm falling in love with you."
As soon as the words escaped his lips he froze in fear. He couldn't believe he had said that out loud without thinking. He was afraid that Jimin would get freaked out and distance himself, but he didn't.
When he heard a soft snore escape Jimin's lips, he relaxed, taking a deep breath. Good thing he hadn't heard. Yoongi then noticed how soothing it was to lay here with him soundly asleep.
So at last he closed his eyes to rest.
