Jin quietly celebrated as he rushed to open the door. Then he saw Namjoon's face and his smile disappeared. The usual upbeat and happiness wasn't radiating through him.
There was this dull and dark aura surrounding him that he couldn't explain. Jin opened the door wider for him to come in without saying anything.
"Hi." Namjoon whispered, taking a seat.
"Hey. Is everything okay?"
"Sure. Everything is fine."
Jin took a seat in front of him. A thousand questions flooded his mind. Was it because of his appearance? Namjoon had been coming over more frequently lately and since revealing his identity, he'd received him as himself.
It was still odd to talk to him and greet him being in his own body. He didn't think Namjoon minded, but now that he was so upset he couldn't help to wonder if it was his fault.
"You're my friend right?" Jin asked.
"Of course." Namjoon responded.
"Then don't lie to me. Something is wrong."
Namjoon released a shaky breath, "Something is wrong. Today is an important date."
"Today? But it's not your birthday." He panicked trying to wonder if he had lost track of time and they were in September again.
"No, it's not my birthday but it's a date I will never forget."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jin wondered.
Namjoon kept avoiding eye contact, something he never did. He was the type of person to always look you in the eye and be polite. He seemed anxious and very distracted.
Now Jin was starting to worry that this was about Nayeon. What if she broke his heart unintentionally? Or what if he was the one that broke her heart and now he felt bad? Either way, that would be his fault for impersonating her in the first place.
"Can you transform into anyone?" Namjoon asked after a long moment of silence.
Jin furrowed his eyebrows slightly confused, but nodded his head slowly. Namjoon stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a picture. He handed it to Jin who took it.
It was a picture of a guy in a pretty navy suit. His hair was dark black and there was a cute mole under his eye adorning his already beautiful features. He had a pretty smile.
"Can you transform into him?" He whispered.
Jin looked away from the picture and back at Namjoon who looked desperate and tired. He didn't know why Namjoon wanted to see this man, but he couldn't stand to see him this way so he agreed.
As he stared at the picture longer, he focused on copying the man's exact features. He was unbelievably gorgeous to say the least.
Slowly, he felt himself change. This man was slightly taller than him and equally as broad shouldered as himself. When he finally looked back at Namjoon the tears spilled from his eyes.
He got up from the chair and Jin did too trying to figure out what was happening. "What's the matter Namjoon?" His voice sounded way different than his regular voice.
But Namjoon only cried harder. He quickly pulled him closer for a hug hurrying his face in his neck. Jin immediately returned the hug trying to comfort him as best as possible.
"I miss you so much." Namjoon sobbed still with his face buried in his neck.
Jin felt himself panic when Namjoon started making noises with his mouth at how loud he was crying. He didn't know what to do, but to transform back into himself.
Namjoon was clearly upset looking at this person and he wanted to calm him down. "Jin look it's ok—" before he could finish his sentence he was interrupted by a kiss.
Jin didn't know how to react. His eyes were wide open and Namjoon's shut closed. He wanted to kiss him back, more than anything, but he didn't because the only reason Jin kissed him in the first place was because he thought he was the other guy.
Once Namjoon realized that Jin had changed back he pulled away right away. His face was a dark red and he quickly wiped his tears to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
He bowed deeply embarrassed, "I am so sorry. I apologize. I got carried away. I didn't know you had transformed back. Please forgive me."
Jin gulped down nervously. "It's—it's okay. I understand. I—I should've warned you." He responded clearly flustered.
Namjoon sighed, walking away towards the wall. He had his hands on his eyes covering his face and he slowly sat on the floor. Resting his back against the cold dull wall.
Jin took the opportunity to sit next to him. He waited patiently for Namjoon to talk, but he didn't. He just kept his face hidden in his hands as he quietly wept.
At this point, Jin felt helpless. The only way he felt like he could comfort him was by reaching over and touching his shoulder lightly.
After Namjoon wept and wept for almost an hour straight, his tears were finally coming to an end. It could've been that he had cried so much that he was tired.
Once he looked up, Jin's heart was torn into pieces. The look on Namjoon was a painful sight. His eyes were puffy red along with pink blotches on his pretty face.
"Was he your lover?" Jin asked slowly, handing him the picture back. He had held on to it afraid that it would make things worse.
Namjoon nodded slowly, taking the picture back. A few tears spilled from his eyes, but he kept his composure regardless.
"On this day, a year ago he passed away. He grew terribly sick and became septic. By the time a doctor saw him it was too late. He was the love of my life. He was my everything Seokjin. We didn't care that our love was forbidden. We didn't care that he had to hide. We knew eventually our society would approve of our love even if that was fifty years from then. We were happy. So happy."
Namjoon's voice grew sadder and sadder as he continued talking. Jin still felt the heaviness of his sadness. He always knew Namjoon hid something, but never did he think it was this painful.
"I've never had a love as beautiful as the one you describe. I probably never will, but I have fallen in love with someone. They're healthy and okay, but I can only imagine how painful it is to lose someone you love. I am sorry for your loss."
Namjoon nodded slowly, "Thank you. I really hope that person you love ends up loving you too. You're a good person Seokjin."
Jin smiled foolishly. If only you knew. "Of course I hope so too. Thank you. I like the way you say my name. It sounds so proper."
"Well that is your name. Would you like me to call you something else?"
"Seokjin sounds just fine." Coming from your mouth.
"Okay. That's what I will continue to call you then." Namjoon's smile slowly faded and the sadness sunk back in his stomach.
Losing someone you loved was a wound that never healed. It became tolerable with time, but on days like these it put him back to square one. It felt like it was just yesterday he was saying goodbye to his forever.
"Do you know why I came to this town?" He asked after a moment of silence. Jin shook his head, waiting for him to continue.
"I heard that there was this mystery potion maker that did miracles. A person from my town gave me a good luck potion he had once acquired from you. I didn't believe in such things, but a part of me wanted to. So, I drastically moved towns considering it was far too painful for me to live there either way. I took your potion and that's how I got the job with Taeil. I heard that he hired no one. I thought I'd put the good luck liquid to a test. Then, I found out about you and where to find you. I got two more potions from you. Another good luck and free mistake. Do you know what I used those for?"
Once again Jin shook his head, ready and curious to hear more about it. Namjoon was being vulnerable and wanted to be heard. Maybe Jin couldn't take away his pain, but he could at least listen.
"I used the good luck potion to ask Ms. Nayeon on a date. I used the free mistake potion to make the perfect dinner for her. At first they were to test my theory and see if they still worked. Trust me, they do because I am as clumsy as I don't know what. I wanted to ask for another potion then. One that I was sure would work, but one you would never give me. I know now that I'm your friend."
"What potion?"
"I came to this town seeking a potion to bring my lover back from the dead."
Jin's eyes widened. It wasn't the first time he had such requests, but he always had denied them. Not because he couldn't do it but because it was dark magic. Being a vampire was already against nature and therefore doing more things that were against nature would only doom the world more.
"I'm sorry. I don't do such things."
"I know. I know." Namjoon whispered sadly. "But I like Ms. Nayeon. She's sweet, funny, and clumsy like me. Although lately she hasn't been as clumsy as when I first met her. She comforts me. I think I can find comfort in her love and yet I can't love her. I only like her. Those are two different things."
Jin looked at his lap and knew what he had to do. He wanted nothing more but Namjoon to be happy no matter if it meant losing him.
"Namjoon, I will make you that love potion."
He looked up with teary eyes in shock. "You would do that for me?"
"Of course. That's what friends do." Jin said with a forced smile. Namjoon smiled, reaching over to hug him. Jin melted in his embrace without questions.
It was nice to be hugged in his real body.

"I didn't mean to scare you." Taehyung said and Jungkook suddenly relaxed, noticing it was only him.
Taehyung kneeled on the ground next to him and Jungkook kept planting new flowers on the garden. It was still very cold, but he had investigated what flowers could withstand the harsh winters.
"Thank you for organizing my closet with the matching colors."
"Oh sure. No problem. It's—"
"Not a big deal. Yes I'm aware." Taehyung said with a small chuckle.
Jungkook nodded a little embarrassed. "You look different when you're matching."
"Do I?"
"A little yes. Now that I actually see you this way it makes me want to see you back mismatched."
"Hmm. Is that so?"
"Yep." Jungkook mumbled avoiding eye contact.
"What are you planting?"
"Daffodils."
"Daffodils. What color are those?"
"They're a beautiful yellow and inside there's a slight orange."
"They survive the winter?"
"Of course they do."
"Is yellow your favorite color?"
"No. It's Jimin's. I want him to like the garden."
Taehyung nodded slowly, "I see." He looked around to make sure no one was near. He couldn't hear anyone close by so he continued. "Don't you think that you shouldn't be in love with him?"
"What?" Jungkook shrieked, focusing his attention towards Taehyung.
"He's married to the king. They're in love now and for your safety it's best that you don't get your hopes up. You can fall in love with anyone you desire, just not the king's husband."
"They're in love now?" Jungkook asked. He knew that Jimin liked Yoongi, but love was a strong word. Why hadn't his best friend told him?
"Did you not hear what I just said? Don't get your hopes up."
"How do you know they're in love?"
"Because I hear it all. I don't mean to. I usually block out noises, but that Christmas night I was worried about the king disappearing. He was fine with Jimin in the room. They love each other. At least that's what I inquired from their interactions."
"Since Christmas?" Jungkook whispered.
"Getting your immortality for a person who does not love you back is not right. I did it and I regret it."
"I don't love Jimin like that. He's my best friend, my brother. I could never look at him in such ways." Jungkook clarified.
"Oh." Taehyung said.
"I want to gain my immortality to stay by his side. He's my best friend."
Taehyung shook his head, "That's not the reason why you should be immortal. You should only do it if you want to. It's not worth it if you don't."
Jungkook kept quiet and then suddenly Taehyung stood up. He looked down at the timid man with the dirty gardening gloves planting his best friend's favorite flower.
He reached over and put his hand on top of Jungkook's head. He rubbed his hair lightly afraid he'd apply too much pressure.
"Sometimes you have to put yourself first."
