"What's wrong?" Yoongi asked.

Jimin gulped down his butterflies that were creeping up his throat. Yoongi looked absolutely perfect. It was truly sickening.

How was someone that perfect?

The all black suit against his skin was a fucking crime. Min Yoongi in general was a crime. Jimin had to recompose himself before he made it weird, but he couldn't help it. He was only human so of course he wasn't as good as Yoongi who almost always seemed unfazed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to daze off. You just look really handsome in your suit."

Yoongi instantly felt his face redden. Why was he reacting in such a foolish way to such a foolish compliment? If he was honest, he didn't know how to accept compliments. Was he supposed to thank them? Compliment them back?

"Hmm. Well you don't look so bad yourself." He murmured.

Jimin smiled, "Sure." He replied equally as nervous.

"Let's go ahead and go yeah? It's getting late."

"How come you don't mind them seeing you, but you hide from the townspeople?" Jimin asked as they headed down the hallway.

Jimin could hear the faint piano music in the distance where the dinner, or small Christmas party, would take place. He was very nervous to meet all of these important people.

Although he had trained and practiced, he felt like it wasn't enough. Sometimes he spoke things too soon for his mind to process what he was saying and that's how he ended up in trouble most of the time.

"I think it's pretty clear why. This is a mandatory thing and I've attended them in the past. These people know of my existence and not like in the town here. They've seen me since I was a kid therefore I can't really disappoint them."

"Is that your fear? To disappoint the town? Believe me, no one would be disappointed if they met you."

"That's easy for you to say because you're not in charge of making all of the decisions. One wrong move and everyone turns against you. That's why I'll rather be both hated and loved in the shadows."

Jimin hadn't really thought about it that way. It was true. Yoongi had a lot of power and that was a lot of responsibility. He never thought he'd appreciate being normal until now. Except, he was not no longer normal. He was married to the king of Caaia.

As they got closer to the door Jimin's bones stiffened. His feet suddenly felt heavy and he didn't want to go inside. It was inevitable for him not to be noticed. Not in this flashy suit or beside the most handsome immortal in the world.

"I can't—"

"Relax, it will be okay. I'll be beside you and I'll do the talking. All you have to do is make yourself present. I'm sure they will adore you. How can they not? You're so chatty and charismatic. Just try to stay calm and greet everyone. As my husband, this is part of the deal."

Yoongi's voice was soothing. It was honey dripping from his lips. Although Jimin's heart was still beating like a rabbit on the run, his body didn't feel as tense. He felt comforted and supported.

Yoongi extended his arm out and Jimin shakily wrapped his arm around it. There had been minimal touching up until now.

As the door opened up, Jimin felt Yoongi flex his bicep. Instead of worrying about the crowd that was now bowing to them in unison, he looked at his husband who had a smile on his face.

But he didn't look happy at all. He looked tense and felt tense. Jimin then realized that he too was nervous and yet he comforted him instead.

Yoongi turned to face him for a quick second and then turned back towards the crowd. Jimin slowly did the same. He saw how everyone in their suits and dresses looked towards their direction. They'd look at Yoongi and then at him and then at Yoongi again.

Most were probably wondering who the hell he was. As Yoongi started moving, Jimin felt his feet getting heavy again, but he too forced a smile. It was only fair to put up a good act. He didn't need Yoongi to be more miserable than he already was.

"Good evening your majesty. Thank you for inviting us." A brunette man said. Beside him was a pretty woman with long brown hair. She too bowed, "Good evening your majesty."

"Good evening Chan, good evening Tzuyu. Jimin, these are Bang Chan and Tzuyu from Cawaan. Lady, gentleman, this is Jimin, my husband."

Jimin instantly remembered Yoongi mentioning Cawaan. It was a popular state a few hours away. Caaia got most of their food imports from them.

"Husband? Wow. I didn't know you were married, your majesty. Your highness, pleasure meeting you." Chan said, looking at Jimin.

He wasn't used to being addressed with such importance. So he felt himself blush a little. They continued walking and the introductions were pretty much the same every time.

Everyone was astonished that the king had married a man to be specific. However, none of them showed any disapproval because how could they? This was the king they were talking to.

Finally, they approached the last two important people. As Jimin got closer he could see them better. They were both incredibly gorgeous up front. Everyone here was, Jimin felt so out of place.

The man had short brown hair and the tall woman beside him did too. They looked like siblings. Twins almost. The man wore an elegant black suit and the woman's tight black dresses hugged her curves perfectly.

She had bright red lipstick that made her pale complexion pop. Her skin tone was similar to Yoongi's. The man's and her eyes were a honey golden color. Too pretty to be natural. They were definitely immortal.

"Your majesty." They both said in sync.

"Good evening Mr. Yoo. Good evening Ms. Yoo. This is Jimin. My husband. Jimin they are from Ninereba."

"Husband? You're married to..." the guy turned to Jimin whose face was slightly red.

"A man." Yoongi finished.

"I was going to say human." He chuckled nervously.

"Ahh yeah. That too. I don't discriminate." Yoongi grinned.

"Of course not your majesty. Too bad Jeongyeon here is discouraged."

"Father." She murmured horrified.

Jimin's eyes widened. This man didn't look older than twenty. He couldn't hear the rest of the awkward conversation because he was too stunned trying to figure out how he was her father when they looked the same age.

When Yoongi excused himself, Jimin snapped back to it. They approached a long table table where Yoongi stood behind the main chair.

Soon after, their guests started gathering around the table. Jimin finally noticed a timid Jungkook who was standing behind the very last chair. It was quite obvious he didn't want to be there.

The servants rushed to hand them all a glass of wine. Yoongi and Jimin were the first to have wine poured into their glass. When they all had one, Yoongi raised his glass up.

"I would like to thank each and everyone of you for coming here tonight. I am aware many of you traveled hours away just to be here with me. Thank you for attending dinner. I hope that everyone feels welcomed. We have prepared a guest room for you all to stay if you like. Let's give a toast for a wonderful night."

Jimin wrinkled his nose slightly when trying the wine. He truly wasn't a fan. He was wiping his mouth with the back of his hand when when he noticed the tall woman, Jeongyeon, stare.

They met eyes for a split second before Jimin looked away. It was impossible to keep eye contact with her. It was far too intimidating.

The dinner was filled with small talks here and there. Jimin politely answered questions that were asked to him but none of them were too intriguing which he was thankful for.

When they finally got done eating, the guests started socializing again. Jimin found the opportunity to seek Jungkook who was in the corner petrified.

"There's so many red eyes." He whispered once Jimin was close.

"I know. Yoongi says they're important."

"I bet. We're the only humans."

"Not for long though." Jimin optimistically said.

Jungkook nodded, "Yeah sure."

"Relax a little. You look tense."

"I am tense. People keep asking me who I am and I don't even know what to say."

"What have you told them?"

"That I work for the king as a spy."

Jimin kept quiet for a second, but then bursted out into laughter. Jungkook joined him soon after. They needed this laugh to release some stress.

"Can you imagine me like a spy?"

"Definitely. You have the looks for one."

"I don't think—ahh! Don't look over there, but Taehyung just walked in and—dammit! Jimin, I said don't look."

"Come on. I have to look. You know he looks homeless and all but he's pretty to look at."

Jungkook stared at Taehyung and felt himself blush. "I mean yeah. He is pretty to look at."

When he saw Taehyung smirk and look up, his face got redder. He had heard. "Now he heard us—I need to leave right now."

"Wait! Where are you going?"

"The bathroom. I don't know. I'll be back. I would ask you to come but you're the king's husband and you're under watch."

Jimin pouted, "Yeah I know. I am going to get something to eat. Again. That's the only past time here."

"I'll be right back." He urged as he turned and walked away. In that instant, Taehyung drifted his attention back to the guests.

Jimin headed towards the dessert table that was still full of sweets. It felt like every time someone got something, it was quickly replaced.

As he was digging into his cupcake, he caught a glimpse of Yoongi. He was talking to Jeongyeon and they were laughing. Jimin felt an unfamiliar anger in the pit of his stomach and when she placed her hand on his shoulder he immediately got a bitter taste in his mouth.

He turned the other way and swallowed the anger that had arose within him. He stood next to the dessert table with the half eaten cupcake and his hands shaking.

"Where is your friend?"

Jimin tensed at the sound of Yoongi's voice behind him, "He went to the bathroom."

"Oh. Okay. Do you want to come join me?"

Jimin then turned to face him, "Not really." He responded a bit tense.

Yoongi raised his eyebrows confused, "Is everything okay?"

"I don't mean to intrude and I'm certainly not the jealous type. I swear." He started laughing nervously at his words, but he was speaking them too quickly for his brain to process them.

"But I'm very curious, who is she?"

Yoongi knew who Jimin was referring to. From the corner of his eye he had seen him look. Even though they had been away from each other for a while now, he kept an eye on him. For security purposes.

"Jeongyeon from Ninebera."

Jimin smiled shyly, "Oh come on. I know that. You know that's now what I mean."

Yoongi thought of how to respond to his question without hurting his feelings, but there was no way of saying it nicely. Jimin was sensible, so it was cruel to beat around the bush.

"She was supposed to be my wife."

Jimin's hand involuntarily dropped the cupcake and the icing got all over his suit landing on his shoe. If it would've been any other time, he would've been devastated from the white icing staining his perfect suit.

But this was far more debilitating.
